    Nice video. I had to move my rear sight a little on mine, but ever since, its been excellent. It is a very under rated gun in my opinion. Thanks again.

    Just my thoughts: I got a P365 when it first came out and many folks were having issues with them. Mine to this day has never had an issue even with the guntubers claiming that an exposed striker would cause issues (striker drag). I just got a ruger Max 9, havent taken it out to the range yet, however I have noticed from other videos that people have more issues with the ones with manual safeties than the pro model. Granted with how many guns get pumped out by the manufacture, I cannot imagine everything being perfect. That is why they have great warranties just in case. I guess I will provide my update once I get 500 rounds through the ruger. Good video regardless.

    Striker fired firearms go back further than most realize. Hugo Borchardt C-93 (1883) was the first striker-fired semi-auto pistol produced in any quantity. For the Takedown pin on the Ruger Max 9, I hate it and bought extra pins.

    I highly recommend you put the Galloway short throw trigger in your Max 9.

    I believe loaded chamber indicators are being forced in some states, so it allows them to sell in those states as well

      Fair enough, I'm still not a fan of them.

    The sights are high because the gun is milled for a red dot optic. The sights should co-witness with the optic.

    Yes, you could very well get rust after finish is worn off as slide is alloy not stainless. But I think the price is fair for the Features.

      Mine rusted right away, no finish wear, just immediate rust.

      If it were mine, I would contact Ruger on that. I've heard they have very good customer support they may come through with a new slide for you then ya could sell or trade it if you didn't want to keep it.@@dz-214

    Could the malefaction have been you overloading the 10 rounder thinking it was the 12 rounder?

    • @dz-214

      Maybe, but I don't recall doing that.

    • @davidguy7335
      @davidguy7335 Год назад +1

      @@dz-214 Yeah I guess that couldn’t be it because the slide locked back so there wasn’t one the chamber to cause an “overload” when you inserted a full mag.

    States like Ca require a safety and the chamber indicator.

    A couple problems with this review. First, that “white ring” around the fiber optic front sight is the tritium insert. So it’s not a strange decoration, it’s a night sight. Second, opening the gate on the takedown pin does not allow the pin to just fall out. The slide has to be pushed slightly out of battery and aligned perfectly for the pin to be freed. You can shoot this gun all day with that gate open and the pin would never fall out. But sure, it’s a strange takedown pin assembly in that you can lose the pin if you’re careless enough to do that. Nobody disassembles a pistol at a full gallop on horseback. It’s done in a controlled environment where you’re not losing springs and parts.
    That said, my Ruger Max-9 pro is a great little pistol for the price. Over 2000 rounds without a malfunction of any kind, no matter the type of ammo. (Ruger doesn’t recommend +P so I don’t use that) With my Holosun 407k red dot, I’m very accurate at 10 yards.
    I wanted the P365 but the dummies at Sig forgot to make it optic ready, it costs too much, and the sights suck.
    The Ruger Max-9 pro (without safety) does exactly what it’s supposed to do and better than some that cost a lot more.
    I installed the Galloway Precision short-stroke trigger so with that and the optic, it beats the hell out of the P365.
    Happy shooting and stay safe.

      I know what the white ring is, I just don't care. It's unnecessarily large. And just like I say in the review, I don’t like it. You, of course, are free to think of it whatever you wish or Free to make your own review where you talk about what you like or don't like.
      Opening the takedown gate certainly allows the pin to just fall out. The reason I said it in the review is because that's exactly what happened. No one suggested you disassemble your pistol on horseback. In fact, I'd advise against it. I'm sure 2k rounds seems like a lot to you. It isn't to me, and it didn't take 2k rounds to get the max 9 to jam up, as you can see in the video. I'm certain your 10 yard groups with a red dot are spectacular.
      The Max isn't bad for what it is, a 365 knockoff, and Sig does make an optic cut 365. I own several and they are more expensive, but you get way more gun for your money. The sights, trigger, build quality, are all superior on the 365.

    Stick with the Sig 365 and stop being so obvious, I shot this gun in the pro model and dont have the same personal problems you do.

    I always get a kick from the Fudds who highlight their favorite gun with the one being displayed or discussed about.

    • @dz-214
      @dz-214  8 месяцев назад

      Well good, entertainment is what this is all about I guess. It's funny that none of the other guns I've made videos of have garnered nearly the anger responses that the Max 9 has. It's ironic because most of the time, the people who get most upset are the fudds who are mad that I spoke poorly of their cheap gun.....that's you isn't it? You're mad cause someone said you're gun sucks huh? I expect this from Glock owners...I thought you Ruger guys were better than that....guess not. I'm not mad, just disappointed.

      Actually, I like Rugers quite a bit. Good use of the word jankey though, we don't see that one too often anymore.
