Very interesting video. As a firearms instructor, I do on occasion use blanks to help beginners who are frightened of the noise and kickback of the guns, to determine if they’re going to be viable shooters. For example, I had a young lady who was thinking about joining the police or the military but had never fired any type of gun. Not even BB guns. So I took her to my backyard range and had her shoot several air guns and rifles. She was actually doing well, but initially she was actually flinching before squeezing the trigger, which she also yanked/pulled a few times until I showed her the difference and effect each had, along with proper marksmanship techniques. So I graduated her to actual firearms and we met at the range, and I gave her a .22 caliber bolt action rifle loaded with blanks. She fired the first shot and had closed her eyes. I let her continue to shoot and she closed her eyes for almost every shot! I had her reload the rifle and she was shocked to see that she had been shooting blanks! I asked her if she wanted to try shooting actual live ammo and she said that she did. So I let her load the ammunition and then shoot when ready. She kept her eyes closed on the first shot and of course missed the target altogether. She opened her eyes and asked what happened. I told that she had to open her eyes to shoot. So she tried again and this time hit paper but missed the target, so we worked on her aim and technique and she was actually doing very well. I moved her up to 9mm handgun, then back to rifle but this time an AR-15 with .22 conversion, then .38 special handgun then the AR-15 back to 5.56, then .357 handgun and a .45 pistol, and finally a 12 gauge security shotgun. She had fired about 100 rounds through each firearm, and had done very well. She said that it was the most fun and best workout she had had in a very long time. She came to practice several times with me and one day said that she was enlisting in the US Air Force and feeling really ready to shoot there. About 9 months or so later I received a call from her that she had earned her marksmanship ribbon and was the best female shot in her training flight. I asked her if she had kept her eye open and she laughed and sheepishly said yes.

99% of us take gun ownership very seriously and will only treat these things as tools instead of weapons. we rarely get shootings by fire arm certificate owners over here. its mostly criminals or people with newly developed mental health issues :) I only own air rifles and I'm happy as they do what I want them too. i have mental health conditions so ill never be able to own a fire arm and that's okay with me because other people are safe because of it.
@@pvmchrisy And see that’s exactly what the founders of America warned us about. You Trading everyone’s False sense of “SAFETY” for Freedom and in the end you’ll have neither when you pick safety. Why not ban guns in general. Safe for all. Americans can't imagine this as they are beyond the point of no return and the bad guys are well equipped already. Here in Germany gun laws are super strict and shootings are a rare phenomenon. It takes quite a lot for bad guys to get a gun. Feels quite safe..
I’m a native British guy and was living in England until summer 2018. Since moving to Northern Europe I’ve discovered the joys of firearms ownership and pistol IPSC sports shooting and currently have 3 Glocks and a CZ Shadow 2. No going back for me.
Fun fact: All three of those replicas are illegal to import or sell in the US thanks to our strict intellectual property laws. Umarex currently holds the only license to sell Glock replicas in the US. It would be far easier for me to go to the store and buy a real Glock than it would be to purchase any of the replicas shown here.
Pointing toys and pulling triggers to send a projectile downrange to achive a kill hit on another human. We were better off in the 50s-60s with our Mattell cap guns, because we could holler "missed me!", and "Did not" back and forth until our roll of caps ran out, and nobody argued about missed shots after. Guns kill people and so do knives therefore both America and UK are just as bad as each other. Seems if people want to kill they will find a way. I don't know what would be worse... being shot or being stabbed as both sound terrible to be honest. Both can make you bleed out. Guns are loud ... knives are quiet. 🤷♂️
I'm waiting for the UK to pass a law that requires you to wear a padded helmet whenever walking outside because you could fall on your head and get a boo boo. Oh UK... how the mighty have fallen.
Laws banning things get made in reaction to newspapers or police pressure, this is called responding to public concern. None of it makes any sense but it makes Home Secretaries appear as if they're tough.
Exactly, the restrictions on realistic imitation firearms (airsoft) came about due to several articles in the Sun reporting that kids had taken an MP5k into school and waved it about, a chav had waved an AK at some people at a bus stop, and kids were running around markets with cheap springers that they'd bought shooting each other.
@@AndyFarnham I know of a certain ex RN officer who went into teaching, confiscated a 1911 springer then proceed to shoot up the staffroom, kids aren't as bad as adults a lot of the time.

I'm in the UK and I've got pump action shotguns but if someone broke into my home and I threatened them with it I would instantly lose my firearms license. So I find a baseball bat or a crowbar is a safer bet for a bad guy or my mrs with no clothes on would scare the living daylights out of an intruder at night 🤣
Its a strange thing. During lockdown I was thinking about getting a airsoft 'sniper' style rifle to use in my back garden for trigger & breathing control. But was told I couldn't have one unless it was in some stupid bright colour, or that it was under something called IKARA or whatever its called (???) Where I 'pretend' to be a soldier running about in the woods playing war games! - something that I used to do when about 8 yrs old, but not so easy when you're 60 with a bad back and knees. I wanted to keep my trigger & breathing control in practise while my main range, Bisley in Surrey was closed during Covid19. Because thats where I regularly use my" fullbore rifles" for practice and competition (.308 / .284 / .223 & 6.5 Creedmoor) So even being a Firearms Certificate holder of around 25 yrs, and owning the above rifles, I still have to have some proof of being some soppy wannabe soldier!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless its in bright pink or something similar. But virtually anyone over 18 can buy a proper 12 ft lbs air rifle that is a lot more powerful. WTF! Only in the UK.
The Retay one is actually a modified traumatic ammo gun, they come from Turkey. In my country they sell exactly the same model with the barrel unblocked. they shoot 9mm gunpowder propelled rubber bullets. I use them as self defense and for sport. Usually they require Turkish ammo either from the brand "Rubber Ball" or "Ozkursan" they tend to block quite often duo either the brand of ammo, or lack of lubrication. You need to clean them after 50 shots for sure. I have the Retay s2022 best used with ammunition "Rubber Ball", "Ozkursan" works too but the charge is too heavy and might blow up the barrel or block more often. The barrel of these are specially threaded if you try to use normal bullets instead of rubber bullets it would lock up the barrel and explode the chamber.
I find it funny how you can buy a plastic shooting gun but need it coloured like a kids toy unless you have a UKARA. But you can buy a fully aesthetic perfect replica that shoots steel balls and has much more power no problem.
Sadly Tony Blair and his cronies decided that Airsoft guns could be used to rob banks, so needed to be taken off the market. They argued they could be converted to fire real rounds (laughable as they would blow up), or simply used to intimidate (who’s going to be stupid enough to try that, when they could be shot by armed police if caught). As a result, the various vendors clubbed together to come up with UKARA, as a means of keeping them out of the hands of people using them to intimidate, and in the hands of the regular players. No UKARA means a brightly painted two tone for the general public, in order to distinguish it from the real deal.

Yep, I own a crossbow, no license needed, you literally can buy only and they deliver it, no regulations or restrictions of any kind, just have to prove you're over 18.
@jamh1998 the restrictions are minimal, just like any weapon, can't carry I public without a valid reason. Can't use for self defence, or for hunting, but these apply to virtually every other weapon. What are the specifics of the act are you referring to?

About 20-30 years ago they used to fire out the front in the UK, but a lot of criminals were using them to do armed robberies in UK as easier and cheaper to hold of from any highstreet sports gun retailer...and some even managed to convert them. The law was introduced that made blank firing guns treated the same as real guns if you commit a crime with the same sentencing. That wasn't enough though clearly, Blair banned all handguns and introduced this top-firing and orange end/coloured rack BS stuff. Ironically, blank firing expelling from the top makes them more dangerous for users.

@Viscous Shear what about treated ptsd from sexual abuse? Been depressed bordering suicidal in Holland but had a .22 enfield and .38 Victory revolver in a gun safe in my room. Never did more than clear my head at the range, shooting is like meditation.
@Viscous Shear Even in California you can still buy an AK or SCAR at least and no one has to come to your house to check safes and whatnot. It's pretty easy to dupe the laws in CA too like just saying your 100 round drum is grandfathered. Some states like Maryland I know ban AK's by name, but you could still get AR's.
To be honest, the UK has very low firearms crime because of strict Island laws. Somewhere like America couldn't reduce crime because there are more guns than people, but the UK has so few firearms that it still makes sense to be strict.

I thought the same, I think they're probably made shoddily deliberately. Every blank replica I ever owned did the same thing, you were lucky to fire a whole magazine without several jams or ejection faults.
These things are made to a low price-point and mainly from cheap magnesium alloy. Little or no emphasis is placed on them actually replicating the semi-auto action properly.

YES airguns must be treated with respect. I was in a school shooting back in 2009 were two teens shot at us with 4,5mm airguns. Two kids went to the hospital, and about 6 were injured. We used to head off over fields to a pond surrounded by trees, and shoot each other with .22 air rifles! Brilliant fun, because somehow or other - through the leaves - we never hit anyone in the head. Pure chance ... Teenagers are a dangerous bunch, with little sense of self preservation.
Growing up in the united states, I had five air guns by 10 years old. By 12 years old, I had two shotguns and a couple .22s. All sitting on a shelf in my bedroom. All my friends and neighbors had guns too. In fact, I recall playing at my neighbors at 6-7 years old, in the kids "play room" in the basement, with a unlocked gun rack on the wall next to us. The craziest (even by american standards today) was a small town high-school I went to, where kids were allowed to bring their deer rifles on the school bus, and then leave them on top of their book lockers, unlocked, with amo in the case. All so they could go deer hunting after school with their friends. Durring deer season, there would be half a dozen rifles laying around the school, on any given day, that anyone could just pickup.

If you have ever been admitted to a mental institution you are not able to legally own a firearm. As far as mass shootings go, America is not even on the top of the list with Norway, Switzerland, and Finland taking the cake on that one. Also, "Mass Shooting" Isn't even a legally defined term so it is VERY relevant as to who is using the term. and away from "Mass shootings" the murder rate is not all that high for guns with 80% of gun homicides being drug related (gangs shooting other gangs) so if anything we have a gang and drug problem. Well air soft don't do the damage BB and lead pellet air guns do, that's why people shoot each other for sport. There's a big difference. Why the government chose to regulate the airsoft guns and leave CO2 alone though is strange, maybe it's just down to legislation catching up and they will eventually I expect. All it will take is someone to be killed by a CO2 gun or some to start be using in a few street crimes and the government with legislate on them... so buy one now unrestricted while you can!
Great video Sir, I enjoyed watching! Too bad that your laws are so restictive. I think personal protection is something that person needs in own hands, at the end. What can I say, go and fight for your right to have a opportunity to defend your life and lives of your loved ones.
The laws are so ridiculous. Especially the blank guns. It defeats the main point of blanks. They are used for films or scaring people. You cannot do either of those with a blank gun in the uk.
I've just into Airsoft. Most of the guns have a "Hop Up" control. Depending on the weight of your BBs you need to adjust this. It's an inbuilt system that applies backspin to the BB. It varies on every gun and for every weight (some brand) of BBs. If your pistol is shooting too low then you should give the bb more backspin to keep it level.
Great vid! I too think the laws are a joke regarding different replicas, I live in the UK and have two 8mm blank fire replica pistols both bright orange LOL and both was sent via royal mail WITH the ammo, the only time I play with them is fireworks night or new years eve (fireworks are a great way to mask the shots XD) its crazy that you have to jump through 101 hoops if you want to own a bb gun yet a blank firing gun can be sent in the mail oh and no proof of age was needed, ordered it online, paid with my debit card and two days later they arrived no fuss. Absolute madness

Who cares if blanks cost a bit, you'll never shoot the thing. Not like you're heading down the range with your blank firing pistol. 50 rounds has got to be a life time supply.

And where I live, not far from you, these are sold in shops alongside fishing rods!!

The craziest (even by american standards today) was a small town high-school I went to, where kids were allowed to bring their deer rifles on the school bus, and then leave them on top of their book lockers, unlocked, with amo in the case. On top of that, it is hard to compare a country that is the size of one states to the whole of America. So all in all I am not sure what exactly sure what you are going for there, especially since you have a few typos that I can't figure out, specifically I am not sure what you mean by *riders * or *lime*.
You should of included replica non firing guns like denix and deactivated guns that is where it gets crazy
Did he actually suggest using a blank replica as a home defense weapon??? Reminds me of the scene from Snatch. Yours says Replica down the side. Mine says desert eagle .50
@@BizlaC Dumbass. You pull this replica gun out and start blasting, and if the intruder also has a gun, a real gun, he will pull it out to defend himself and kill you. Good job. A fake gun (whether its BB, air or blank) is incredibly dangerous TO YOU if you use it for self defense. Dont ever use it in a situation like that.
@@rykehuss3435 Calm down bud. Don't need to call people dumbass at the start of your comment because you disagree with them.
@@GamingBoTv I agree, no need to call names, however Rykehuss is also 100% right with the substance of his reply. Even if the other person has a knife and you fire a blank at them they will go into fight or flight. Maybe they run, maybe they charge and carve you up while you can do nothing because it's a blank gun that discharges out the top. If you at least had the discharge out the barrel at point blank you could do some harm, even kill, but I'm not so sure about the top discharging ones and it would require some odd aiming while someone is trying to stab you to death to get it positioned correctly to hit them even if that's the case. You'd be better off answering the threat with a small sword or machete. You might not have the range, but in the UK they probably don't either and at least you have a lethal alternative should it come to that.
@@TresTrefusis Oh I agree with him, I just also understand the other guys view and to be honest, I would probably shoot with a blank too(Though that's not going to happen because I'm quite well armed in this house, and I don't own any blanks). I have the level of confidence that in the area I'm in right now the criminals would run and not stay to figure out if it's a real gun or not.
@@GamingBoTv True enough. When I lived in California I slept with a Katana by my bedside, but then I trained to use it in Japan hehe. Nowadays I got my AR15 and being that it's the same model as the one I shot expert with 3 times in the Marine Corps, pretty sure I can handle whatever comes my way hehe.
Great video, especially when Mrs. AAR was firing the blank gun. Funny and informative.
The really sad thing is WHEN they change the laws on all 3 of these replicas, it won’t be “more” balanced…. it’ll be even more strict across the board.
Those Retays look to jam rather often? Giving the ammo a light coat of a lubricant such as Tetra Gun will help 👍
The problem with most of them is they are replicas, so if you are carrying one the police are going to treat you the same as if it was real.
@albert fish since when do the police have x-ray vision and somehow catach people walking around with weapons !!! last time i checked they also need resonable suscpion to search someone in a public place !

So dont open carry.
Air soft are allowed to have fully automatic guns and they shoot each other so why not all air guns the law is nuts lol
UK: "We have the worse; insane gun laws in the world."
Australia: "Hold my beer"
“the local plug putting real holes in you”😂😂😭
The blank firer looks good for home defence if used only in that scenario.
agreed I dont know about the UK but in the us I believe legally it's treated as a real gun in that case.
Maybe if you shot from point blank you could kill someone. Otherwise it's almost useles. Maybe could pistol whip with it
Great video Sir, I enjoyed watching! Too bad that your laws are so restictive. I think personal protection is something that person needs in own hands, at the end. If the time comes, You cannot expect from police to be just around the corner. I'm from Europe (from Serbia, not EU) and I'm legally licenced to own a handgun for personal protection. I needed to be without criminal record and to have serious medical exam but now I have fully loaded 9mm here in my desk so any robbers are more than welcome... :)
Beside that, I'm among those mad crazy people who shoot each other with airsoft guns and that is completely legal. No red tips, just use it where it should be used and that's all.
I think you have problem with your goverment because they don't want you armed. Our goverment would like to disarm us as well but we're armed traditionally in years so it ain't gonna go so easy.
What can I say, go and fight for your right to have a opportunity to defend your life and lives of your loved ones.
Exactly. Thankyou for wording this so greatly!👍🏻👊🏻
Hello my serbian friend, we have similar laws like you serbians. I can own everything i like, even silencers since august👍🇷🇸 poz iz slovenije.
The laws are so ridiculous. Especially the blank guns. It defeats the main point of blanks. They are used for films or scaring people. You cannot do either of those with a blank gun in the uk.
Very entertaining and informative. Could be written under every of your videos. Very intelligent and well spoken dude!
I saw alot of jamming in the Blank Firing Gun
Oh you can get the idea on how big that third one sounds every time it was fired you can hear that hire piercing ring anybody that's heard loud sound knows that sound
Everytime you say "BB" it reminds me of Austin Powers saying "Yea Baby"
In my youth B and reverse B were the symbols of Brigitte Bardot ....curves
Bought a glock 17 gen 5 Airsoft gun for about 175. Very very accurate and a fun way to learn about guns
Never use a blank gun for self defence. Your bringing a noisemaker to a gun fight
In Sweden, the blank firing gun - need a license. Same as a loaded "real" gun, needs a license.
How to get a license? Join a shooting club, get a license as a hunter. Do note, they look at your age, where you live and if you have done any crimes..
Who cares if blanks cost a bit, you'll never shoot the thing. Not like you're heading down the range with your blank firing pistol. 50 rounds has got to be a life time supply. Ear protection not needed either, home defence situation rarely gives you time to get on your safety gear. Just buy the thing, put it in the top draw and done. How many times you planning on being robbed?
My Zoraki 9mm blank fire gun was classed as illegal here because you can actually bore out the barrel and fire live rounds, and was told I had to turn it in.. lmfao ya right! Still got it.
Love your videos especially when you’re outside channeling your inner Jurgen Klopp
