    I went to dollar tree and bought a pool noodle, cut it to size, slit it and put it on the end of my slide so it fits nice and snug against my tail gate.

    YEARS AGO,
    I think in 80's maybe. Might have been the 90's I stopped by an Rv dealer and he had a truck camper on a pickup for sale.
    As I recall the camper was a NorthStar. I think. The camper was MONSTEROUS 13ft sitting on an 8ft dually truck bed.
    One thing I noticed was this camper had a pullout drawer under the camper floor. It appeared to be part of the camper but
    I learned later like yours it can be added. When I bought a truck camper in 2002 I thought of parking it atop a truck bed
    drawer but even 4" would have made the camper too tall so I dropped the idea. That 13ft camper slept 8 had a full
    bathroom/shower in it. Today, you cant get a truck camper any longer than 11ft 6".
    !

    Great design I intend to make one, one question. On your bottom board where the rollers are connected are those sideboards screwed from the bottom and sit on top one are they mounted on the side edge and screwed it from the side? It was kind of dark inside the truck I couldn't see for sure. Thanks Bill

    • @TheREALWeekendDIYer

    What brand tonneau cover is that? I’m looking for one for my 3rd gen. I think I would need one if building this sliding drawer? Maybe if you use bed liner paint on the plywood it could be weatherproof? Thoughts?

      @@TheREALWeekendDIYer Also, did you put some sort of stop on the slide so it won’t come all the way out?
      What are your thoughts about bed liner the plywood? Would it make it more weatherproof?

    • @TheREALWeekendDIYer
      @TheREALWeekendDIYer  2 месяца назад +1

      No stops on the slide. Tailgate holds it in place. This also makes it easier to slide it our and clean it. Bed liner would work find to protect it.

  • @teajay300
    @teajay300 5 месяцев назад

    Id like to do this but im concerned about weight and material fitment. How does sheetrock or plywood fit on top? Also with weight, how much weight have you had on it to where the rollers are digging into the plywood?

    • @TheREALWeekendDIYer
      @TheREALWeekendDIYer  5 месяцев назад

      Typically a 4x8 sheet of plywood fits between the wheel humps, so a sheet would sit on top of the slide. I've had it loaded down with tools and it rolls just fine.
