It is indeed a wonderful opera. But Met, please dont say Radvanovsky stars here. She is not good in belcanto and in this role in particular. The disastrous finale of this Devereux was uploaded to RUclips and already disliked by many. Please dont brainwash people.

+Ballet Elephant, whether you like a performer's performance has NO BEARING WHATSOEVER on whether that person "stars" in the role or not. Granted, I agree the note in the finale uploaded by user asdfopera is not the most flattering, but the one included in this video is good. Haters are going to hate, whether bad or good. As an aside, it seems Sondra's detractors love to be vocal. So really, what all the "dislike" means is you like to make your opinion known. Out of the 705 views so far, only 29 has voted up or down. That's not enough to say that the video is disliked by "many" proportion-wise, as you would have us believe.
+Ballet Elephant : It is Matthew Polenzani, who stars in this production, for me. Also, hard to compare his performance with rest of singers - who are also very well known and respected global fame artists. But only American tenor is bel canto specialist (what should be priority in selection of cast to any production), and everyone can spot it ;)
Anyway, I agree with Ballet Elephant at some point - Sondra Rodvanovsky isn't my favorite Queen Elizabeth, and she doesn't speak to me either - with rushed phrasing, sliding between tunes, and enormous vibrato....

Well, Sondra? Well, she's a very good singer, it completely true, but there other singers that play that rol muche better than Sondra, Did they think about Devia or Alexandrina Pendatchanska ? No? Well, try to say that Sondra is a great Elizabettha, when the Met premiers that opera for first time, it's kind a brainwash as Ballet Elephant said. Or at least to me it sounds like that.
We all know Sondra is a very good singer, but come on, she's not for these character, I am so sorry, the same thing the Met tried to sell us with Netrebko, with her Lucia or Anna Bolena. And you know what? I didn`t feel good see her. I didn't enjoy her.
Absolutely. Pity American listeners had no opportunity to hear best Italians in these roles. Radvanovsky is ok, just not for belcanto.
+Ballet Elephant, that's a ludicrous statement. You think Americans don't travel and/or have access to singers of other nationalities? Besides, being Italian doesn't automatically make a singer great in a role. Just all-around a biased and asinine statement.
