He tried to squeeze inside on a straight with no room. Final straight he didn’t need inside lane that bad lol he coulda went outside initially and won even easier
unless there is room...many races won from shooting the gap when it is available. 2nd place probably could have been DQ's for that push. But yeah, general rule of thumb is be careful cutting inside. Then again, see what happened in the men's 5k final at the US Olympic Trials this past summer when Chelimo edged Fisher and Kincaid all the way out into lane 4.
@@fierce-green-fire8887 yeah that true but the first place guy if you watch is feet at the end right after the push hey steps onto the turf and then back on the track therefore should have been the one who got DQ'd but since it was a relay he wasn't.
@@maybelltrends4life773 getting pushed is not a reason for being DQ'd. The only reason he stepped on the turf was that he was pushed by the 2nd place runner...but often athletes aren't DQ's even when they do push, such as this race. The official let it go.
@@wmanzahhhhh3147 Yes you got your medals but it was still a violation. Kid that ran 2nd leg ran multiple strides in the lane before he cut it. It looked as if the official was gonna disqualify them when he walked out onto the track.
@@wmanzahhhhh3147 congrats to your boys on the win, but denying a blatant violation(1:50) doesn't set a great example for your boys, just saying. Acknowledge and move on.
1st place should be DQ’d for two reasons. 1) The obvious push to the other team when coming up on the inside at the end. 2) both the 2nd and 4th runners had their foot where they weren’t supposed to. With the last runner stepping out of the metal rim and and second runner having his inner foot on the lane inside his on the first bend before merging. Coaches really need to teach these young kids about these sorts of things so they don’t become habit and hard to break
Not sure if the contact would have disqualified the runner in front, as the runner tried to pass on the inside and perhaps the front runner did not see him or the judges would have determined that the rear runner did not have a clear path to pass on the inside and forced the contact. Wonder whether there was a protest submitted by the team that finished in second, as they might have had a valid case.
@@hellogoodbye4061, if you are on the inside, you never have a clear path to pass unless the front runner yields... and they don't have to do so. Pass on the outside and avoid these issues.

Just a bad pass line at the end. The leader is not obligated to move to give you room to overtake, they just can't block. Of course its just kids so its a learning experience.

@ Were you there? Next Generation runner impeded and stepped off the track before crossing line in 1st not sure if that's allowed in AAU so I was wondering the outcome. Could have been a DQ if The Afterburners filed a protest.
The way he slows down, cuts all the way around him and passes him is funny😭

He was like you know what? Imma head out
😆
These kids are amazing. That finish was strong. Proud of them.
Better coverage than the world records of the 1968 Olympics!
well duh, this isn’t 1968
Hats off to the announcer. I've heard Diamond class announcers that aren't close to this. Nice job!
Wow, that push was a petty attempt.

Pretty nice!!! Living the dream
Guess they don't DQ for lane violations, especially the Next Generation's 2nd leg. Rules are rules!
has to be 3 or more steps
Dramatic finish 😂to what end? The kid falling: " damn it!! I didn't sign up for this! Time to take my retirement."
Team that won had a lane deviation I think after the first exchange just before the cones
No we didn’t😂, our boys got their medals and we went to celebrate after.☝🏾

Can u post the 4x4 11-12 girls
Do you mean to tell me that these Junior Olympians don't know to not pass on the inside? I mean that was horrendous.
They’ve only ran the 4x4 a couple times this year (no more than 10) , none of them even run the 400 except for 1st and 3rd leg.
If there is room to pass you can pass on the side. He pushed him out. Great adjustment by the anchor and strong finish!
Awesome that baby said not today player lol
i was the 1st leg for the green and blue team
Congratulations

Just so yall know i was the 4th leg for afterburners sadly they didnt let us contest because we were too late
That made him angry and helped with an extra push
Good game
