Over 5 seconds faster than Valby's 2023 NCAA Outdoor 5000m Championship. Super impressive given Leachman ran this COMPLETELY alone from the gun. That's crazy hard. At least Valby had a chase pack always within 3-4 secs to provide motivation for the entire race until the last 800m... when she started to kick. This girl reminds me of Natalie Cook. We will never truly know who is the fastest of all time. The only question we can answer is who was the fastest in a given single race.

Incredible performance. I never knew very much about Elizabeth until today. I haven't been in peak running shape for many years, and I've switched mostly to swimming. But I knew just looking at those girls when they stepped up to start that something special was going to happen. If you are in tune enough with nature you can spot special things when they are about to happen. Like when you know nothing about the horses in a race, but you see that one and for some reason to you it feels more electric than all the other horses, how it walks, the look in its eyes, the intensity it has just standing there at the starting line. She left it all out there on the track. Just an incredible performance and a well-deserved victory.

Awesome 5 seconds faster than parker valby there who is now down to 14.52 in college.
Leachman is so young and has 6 years to surpass that.
I hope she does not overdo it and get injured.
To work on her breathing and stamina swimming like Parker is good and high attitude and cross trying on the arc trainer and plenty of rest and injury preventive checkups and strategy training videos and plans and diets plans.

There was a time a few decades ago when lapped runners would move out a lane to allow the faster runners through. Sadly that is very rare now. To her credit, one runner did move out, but worldwide that is very much the exception.
