@@evilvolts Yes, and that was totally my (Itai) fault. When reacting, we do it "live" so sometimes, because we're hearing the song for the very first time, not knowing what is coming up, we look for quieter spots and lulls in a song where we can pause without disrupting the rhythm too much. We need to find these spots so we can essentially "react" to what we are seeing and not forget what thoughts come up and what we wish to say. When the song slowed down at that point, not realising Miho was going to go into a slow solo, I asked Asaf to pause. Once I realised, we were already on the other side of the pause and back into the song at a point where going back would have created a non-genuine reaction and disrupt our rhythm, so I let it go. I only fully realised when re-watching it in editing. I assure you, this was not done on purpose or with any disrespect to Miho or the band, whom we hold in extremely high regard. Sometimes these things happen in reactions and we hope the audience will understand, but we also get it when they don't. As you say this happens a lot in this moment of the song in other reactions, I'd conclude that it's not a coincidence and that moment in the song might be "problematic" for reactions when the song is seen and heard for the first time. We hope you understand.
In any case, thank you for viewing and engaging. Much appreciated!

that is one the things i love best about midori. the way she plays up the crowd to get them stoked with her smiles and power stances and leanbacks. she does make you think that she knows she is awesome and she is. but at the same time i detect no arrogance. she is just having a blast doing what she does.

Yes, we have discussed both Midori and Miyako stage presence in previous episodes as well. It seems all five members have a different "stage personality" from each other, which makes it even more fun to watch. There is absolutely no arrogance detected from any member and they seem to be propping each other up and working in harmony which makes them even more endearing as a band. Just awesome!

@@myindieprodentertainment If you watch the release video from their Judgement Day release, you will experience their - probably - more true personalities. They appear to have great fun and ambience, bubbly you might say, in between them; Asami constantly eating something, Haruna showing off her fluffy toy animals, Miyako apologising to Haruna for writing a song almost too fast to play, Midori "working out" with a pink dumbell, Fami immensely proud of being a part etc. all while they praise each other.
But you probably already saw that one?

"I'm Haruna, a little drummer." (in her social media bio)
No one has more 'contrast' between precious-appearance/BRUTAL-performance! (imo)
Miho wrote the 'thrash' part & all lyrics, Miyako the transition segment for her soulful solo,
and I think the transition back to thrash with organ in homage to Jon Lord of Deep Purple.
Miho wrote music & lyrics to 11 songs for LOVEBITES.
One more, "The Crusade" is their 'homage' to Iron Maiden's "Aces High" Music by Miyako & words by Miho.
Steve Harris is her primary inspiration as a bassist.
I very much enjoy seeing & hearing you two give account of your recognition & admiration for LOVEBITES, each member and their "world class" talents. I am grateful you put the effort in to retain the stereo mix.
"Paranoia" audio-only from Glory, Glory To The World EP 2021,
will hold your attention even without the visuals. ruclips.net/video/5ueLDMGxTWs/видео.html

It is amazing they have so many influences that they inject into their music and pay homage to. To me (Itai), it shows their immense respect and admiration to musicians who came before them and paved the way for others. It is an absolute pleasure to see and hear. Their knowledge of music before their time and their desire to bring back this awesome hard rock/metal style of old stands out and is one of the reasons I love this band so much and I seem to be loving them even more with every song we cover.
Yes, we are also glad we finally worked out the stereo situation, as well as the HD, etc. We are constantly working to improve quality in various facets. It isn't easy, but we work hard at it and hopefully, eventually get there. 😉

This is a top 5 Lovebites song for me - so heavy and thrashy, yet they switch it up with a really cool bass solo interlude followed by Miyako's soulful solo. I love how Asami controls the crowd too. The best moment is the look that Midori gives the camera during her solo, makes me smile every time. They are the elite metal band from Japan.

    • @CrYou575
      @CrYou575 Год назад +2

It seems like Midori is being even more extrovert than usual to make the contrast with the soulful solo from Miyako more obvious. I think she does something similar at the end of Epilogue. They aren't just a fantastic guitar duo, it's almost like they're almost using the same trick as comedy duos (the magicians Penn and Teller also come to mind). Miyako has taken on a stoical behaviour that she didn't used to have early on or with previous bands, and Midori has gone the other way.

I love your reaction and reflections onthe messages in their lyrics. Most reactors tend to shy away from LOVEBITES' lyrics, but for me, this is what also distinguishes them from the pack, beyond their elite musicianship.
This band really understands how to compose and arrange music, with lyrics and messages to match - made more impressive because native Japanese speakers (and musicians) tend to shy away from English as they find it daunting.
Add to this their decision to sing and make word choices and themes that resonate with a global audience, as in this song. For these and other reasons is why I consider LOVEBITES a transcendent band whose impact and legacy will be inscribed in the annals of music, and not just heavy metal.

M&M have some jaw dropping solos in their catalogue, but this song showcases what is probably each guitarist’s strongest attribute. Midori’s solo is a master class in shredding, with attitude. Miyako’s solo was her contribution to the composition credits, in that she asked Miho to include a slow section for a moody solo. Whilst she has now begun to give Midori serious competition in the shredding stakes (listen to the Judgement Day album for confirmation), Miyako excels at solos that ooze feeling.

I love this performance because it's one of the few times where Midori lets you know, that she knows, she's awesome. That stare directly into the camera always makes me smile. Also at one point she kneels down in front of the crowd and then somehow stands up again in stilettos all the while shredding without missing a beat.

Break The Wall is in my top five Lovebites songs (Swan Song has been #1 since I first heard it). I haven't read through the comments, so what I am about to say has probably already been said. Miho started writing Break The Wall (Mao wasn't involved) and had written most of it but hit a wall in completing the song. She sat on the song for quite a long time and finally decided to hand it off to Miyako. Miyako added her solo plus transitions into and out of her solo. She also added some Miyako spice throughout the song. In writing the solo, Miyako was channeling the late great Gary Moore which is why she is playing her wonderfully bluesy Les Paul, which Gary Moore also used. In fact it looks a lot like the Gary Moore Signature Les Paul. I never get tired of listening to Break The Wall which I consider a masterpiece. A song that is a combination of Miho and Miyako could not be anything less.

    • @myindieprodentertainment
      @myindieprodentertainment  Год назад

Agreed. This song is in the masterpiece conversation. It is so varied and hits hard where it needs to. The concept and lyrics are great as are the composition, solos and overall attitude. We love it! Great to see the homage to Gary Moore, he was greatly underrated and should have had far greater success in his career in my (Itai) opinion. It was a nice Bluesy touch to go with the thrash/speed/power metal overall feel. Exceptional!

I go all the way back to Allman/Betts and Allman/Clapton, and I’ve never heard another song with two solos that were so great yet so different. This captures perfectly the contrasting styles and personalities of the two guitarists-Midori the extrovert and shredding demon, Miyako the introvert and goddess of blues (who can also shred when she feels like it). I was already hooked on Lovebites, and sold on the dual leads, but this is the song that convinced me just how great they are. Miho and Haruna absolutely tear it up, and Asami shows her growing affinity for thrash metal. There has never been anything like them.

Love Miyako but man Midori just gets me with that smile and " I am about to kick your A$$, but first let me melt your face and fry your brain". Thrash done by LB live is beyond exceptional it is the best. Haruna gets no shine time but she just explodes in every song. If she drives like she plays no one is ever safe on the road. Still bittersweet seeing Miho in these old videos now, she will always be remembered as the one who put this band together. She played in Destrose with Haruna, two monster groups that tells you the talent both of them have. Asami shows how much she has grown into the stage general with this performance. That 4' 10" model turns into a real Napoleon once she gets a mic and hits the stage.

Hi Guys! Even though this is one of their earlier songs, it's still one of my favorites. If I had closed my eyes when it started, I would have bet money that it was Slayer. In my opinion, it's 80s thrash metal done right! And those 2 guitar solos - wow! First Midori... She has one of the fastest right hands that I've ever seen. And it looks effortless for her. She showed that right hand speed so dramatically in her solo. There's something about Miyako's bluesy solo that gets to me every time. Gary Moore is one of my favorite guitar players and Miyako loves his style as well. She patterned this solo after his style. If you want to see her play Gary Moore's "Parissiene Walkways," just type in "Miyako Parissiene Walkways" on RUclips. There's a video of her sitting in her home studio playing it. I've watched it probably 100 times and I'm moved by it every time. I'm not saying to react to it, but you should definitely watch it for yourself. Take care!

    Hello from France:
Even if I like Band-Maid or Nemophila, the 3 groups that come from Japan and which, in my opinion, are on the top and have very different styles are Lovebites, of course, but also Sokoninaru and Asterism...
Lovebites has a great personality, very original Sokoninaru and Asterism virtuosos.
Nemophila and Band-Maid are, in their musical approach, more classical and traditional.
    And Midori ! 😍🤩

This song has been adopted by many reactors. But there are things I feel sorry for. Most reactors pause when Midori's solo ends and Miyako's solo transitions. I think listening to both solos in succession (without pausing) is the best way to enjoy this song...but that's just my personal opinion of course.

Someone else mentioned this and this was my (Itai's) reply:
Yes, and that was totally my (Itai) fault.

The diversity and complexity of these ladies' skill compositions are what separates them from the rest. The rest tend to stick to one style and genre while Lovebites fluctuates in various styles and genres you never know what you're going to get next. This would be the main reason why I can't stand the ignorance of people who are always claiming Lovebites is a power metal band when obviously they are not. For me it is Lovebites, Mardelas, Unlucky Morpheus, and the rest but band maid is not even close to the equation there are much better pop/rock bands and they sure as hell aren't hard rock at all

However, we respect your opinion and it is fine, we weren't all meant to feel the same way about everything. We hope you're enjoying our Lovebites episodes, still many more to come! Stay tuned.
