Miyako composed & recorded 6 demos for the Electric Pentagram album. She did that before anyone else had recorded one & all six became songs, including Swan Song. Miyako has said, " All I ever wanted to do is make a living playing, writing or teaching music, " she does all three !! It's the reason her bandmates call her, " The Golden Touch. " ❤️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘

    LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth
Would you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
    Oh brave soldier
    Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
    Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
    Floating lotus
    You are so graceful
    Saintly and glorious
    Till the end of time
    Floating lotus
    You are so beautiful
    Sing me your sweet song
    The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
    Oh brave soldier
    Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
    Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
    Floating lotus
    You are so graceful
    Saintly and glorious
    Till the end of time
    Floating lotus
    You are so beautiful
    Sing me your sweet song
    The legend of the swan
    SOLO: miyako / both
    Floating lotus
    You are so graceful
    Saintly and glorious
    Till the end of time
    Floating lotus
    You are so beautiful
    Sing me your sweet song
    The legend of the swan
    SOLO: midori

My friends, you have life membership of the Wolfpack after this reaction. Seriously, any reaction channels that have two participants needs to watch this. Articulate, informed, respectful and although long, never boring. You may only be three songs in, but as you yourself said, the fans are not exaggerating. In fact the English language doesn’t have enough hyperbole with which we can express just how good this band is. There is NO bad song. NONE. In my personal opinion, every song has equal merit because every song is unique and has a highlight that the others don’t have. They are the best group of musicians that has ever existed in popular music. I can’t use the term “greatest simply because they seem to be flying under the radar of what could be a worldwide audience. But there has never been a band this precise, this melodic, this beautiful, both inside and out, this prodigious and yet so beautifully humble. I include all the big names in this assessment and I don’t give a rat’s ass whether it sounds ridiculous. I happen to believe it, which is all that matters.

If you want to hear the new bassplayer, she is featured in "Judgement day" which was released 24. december(?). While Miho was a very reliable and skilled bassist, i feel that Fami is adding a little more to the mix. Which is quite special since she is quite younger with her 20 years.
She plays fingerstyle.. but also incorporates slap-style, which gives the sound a boost at certain parts. Really curious about what she can add to the old material. If she plays like Miho, or tries do add some of her flair.

Yes, we'll get to Judgement Day, but want to cover some more of the old stuff first. As we had almost each and every Lovebites song requested, we avoid listening to them until we do them on the show, that way making all the episodes "First-Time Listens". It has not been easy, but we've succeeded in that thus far and we are looking forward to diving deeper real soon!

Thanks for the reaction! "Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the Great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland.
"Swan Song" ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of swans is amazingly beautiful.
"Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together.
In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the death of the Swan, Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video.
Asami added some Scandinavian mythology (Valhalla) to the lyrics.. The attitudes towards death among the Japanese Samurai and the Scandinavian Vikings were very similar. For Samurai and Vikings, death in battle with weapons in their hands is a death worthy of a male warrior. Death in battle is better than death from old age in your bed. All Vikings dreamed of dying in battle because then they could go to Heaven, to Valhalla (the Hall of those killed in battle) where they would meet God Odin and other Vikings who died in battles.

Gentlemen, thanks for your candid and insightful review! What stood out was your comment and projections (minute 7:07 fwd) that their level of skill, group chemistry in consistently delivering excellent musical pieces ushers this band into a rare category that goes beyond just being very good or excellent ... that when their history and the history of metal is written decades from now, they will be considered as legends (in my view they already are) who transcend geography, gender, or genre. For me, the lyrics to this song (and indeed even the names to may of their songs and albums) carry deep messages that give pause for reflection, especially since these themes are often global (and not typically "Japanese"), underscored by their deliberate decision to sing in English on purpose. I must confess that afer discovering this gem called LOVEBITES in August 2022, they've become an inspiration (Hitherto, I wasn't even remotely a fan of heavy metal/speed metal/power metal!).

One of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I feel I can say "masterpiece" here and not have it be an overstatement. I love this band so much, but even with that bias, I come back to this song and hear it again and I can still be amazed that someone wrote this, sang it, and played it, at this level, live. The talent on stage, and the musicianship, that comes at you, every song, is such a pleasure to see. Hoping to see them live someday.
I'm sure you have all the requests lined up, but mine would be: Thunder vengeance, live from Zepp; Break the Wall, live from Zepp; and Empty Daydream, live from 2019. No particular order. I'd have to look, but I don't think you have done those yet. Pretty much anything you do by them is amazing, so you can't go wrong. I prefer live, as it is amazing to see, but their new stuff we'll only be able to see in MV form until we get a DVD/Blu-ray of the show in March.

The songs you requested are all on our list, it just might take us some time to get to them. We try to do Lovebites videos as often as we can, but we don't do this full time yet, so still have to dedicate time to our day jobs just to get by. We hope to make the move to full-time with the channel, but that would depend on how well it goes in the next few months. If you wish to contribute to the cause and/or have your requests bumped up the queue, our Buy Me A Coffee is in the description. Any requests made through there will be bumped up.
So far, all our Lovebites episodes were reactions to Live performances. Once we get to one, it will actually be interesting to react to a studio recording, just for comparison sake. Either way, we are looking forward to doing more LB! Coming soon!

Asami sums it up succinctly when she exclaims, “We are Lovebites, and we play Heavy Metal!” Try (Make Some Noise,) RAISE SOME HELL next.
MIYAKO explained that she is so still on stage because harmonizing accurately with MIDOR is difficult and it requires her full concentration. The reason you see so many skillful musicians in Japan is because they put in the hard work required to master their instruments. That sort of commitment and dedication is part of their culture.

I also consider Swan Song to be a masterpiece composition by Miyako. I also believe Swan Song to have some of the best lyrics that Asami has written. Set The World On Fire is also a Miyako composition with lyrics by Asami. Miyako has been the sole composer on 20 of the 46 songs released by Lovebites thus far (not counting her instrumental The Awakening) and Asami has written the lyrics on all but one. As far as Miyako's demeanor on stage, she is very reserved on stage because I don't think she is entirely comfortable yet in front of large crowds and she is a perfectionist. What looks like boredom (too nervous to be bored plus it is her own song) is really intense concentration combined with a poker face. She has stated that she was extra nervous for this show because it was being recorded for a CD and Blu-ray and she wanted to make zero mistakes. You mentioned her dropping her left arm. She has done this in at least one other video. My theory is her left arm is prone to cramping. To me it looks like she had a brief look of irritation when she dropped her arm because she had to deal with a cramp. I wonder how she felt when that was included in the Blu-ray. My son is currently a student at a Music Conservatory which brings in artists to teach masterclasses. From watching her in interviews and her own RUclips videos, I think she would be a great guest artist at any music school in the world. She is a world-class composer, pianist and guitarist who has taught guitar, and maybe piano, in the past. She is also a wife, mother and huge Start Wars fan (she even named her little white dog Wampa). Somewhere in Japan is a very lucky man who married above his pay grade.

We agree, Miyako is definitely SPECIAL! The comments on her looking bored were meant as that, she LOOKS bored. We, of course, know that she is not. If she does this to hide nervousness, she is doing really well as she looks ultra cool on stage, especially when playing both the piano and her guitar to magnificent perfection. I (Itai) get the feeling that the songs she composed and Asami wrote will likely be my favourites. Can't wait to get to more!

@@myindieprodentertainment I am sure this has been mentioned in the comments many times but here goes. When Lovebites started they had an unofficial 6th member named Mao who is a composer/keyboardist who was with a very good power metal band called Light Bringer which ended in 2014. Mao immediately began composing for Fuki, the Light Bringer vocalist, on her solo work. In 2016, when Lovebites was formed, he started working with the band. I don't know if Miho, the original bassist and band founder, brought him in or their huge label Victor Entertainment. Since Light Bringer was with a different label, I assume it was Miho. Mao has composed 5 songs for Lovebites, including Holy War, which you have heard, and his Lovebites masterpiece Edge Of The World. He has also collaborated with 3 Lovebites members on their songs - Miho (10), Asami (5) and Midori (2). Miyako has composed 20 Lovebites songs and she works alone. The only exception is a song called Break The Wall (a top 10 Lovebites song in my opinion) which Miho started and Miyako finished. Miyako is a truly great composer but don't sleep on the Mao collaboration songs which includes the recent Asami/Mao song Judgment Day, an instant masterpiece. You are correct about hearing classical music on the guitars, Miyako being the composer of this masterpiece blended and infused the classical element into this song as well as most of the songs she has written. After 50+ years of listening to rock and metal and having my share of many wonderful concerts of many great bands, I have not seen the prolific talent Miyako and Midori possess. Judas Priest's Downing and Tipton did have it, Iron Maiden's Murray and Smith didn't have it, Queensryche's DeGarmo and Wilton didn't have it either but they were all freaking amazing. I am sure there are many other bands I have not mentioned but it is useless to name as they all didn't have it like Lovebites. Another thing is the women of Lovebites have a mutual respect for one another, as opposed to the male bands who didn't and always step on each other showing off or taking the stage as if they are a one-man band, the cocky attitude of dudes always got in the way. The comradery of the Ladies of Lovebites is more than just members of a band, they have become BFFs in the realm of sisterhood and this is quite evident when Miho the bassist announced her departure for personal reasons. They all begged her to stay and all cried with each other and respected Miho's decision to go on with her decision, it is a beautiful thing to acknowledge and see firsthand how they are with each other. Also, the newest and youngest member Fami was accepted with open arms and I am almost sure she is being treated like a little sister. Start doing 2 songs at a time as many reactors are doing

Hey Sal! Yes, we agree regarding Lovebites phenomenal talent and the way they are with each other. We've discussed it on at least one episode we did on a song of theirs. It is awesome to see the way they respect and back up one another. Just make the music even more powerful.
As for doing two songs at a time, if you mean in the same episode, we are not sure it would be beneficial. It is quite rare that people watch an episode on one song all the way to the end (not just with us, with everyone), so attention spans might not hold for longer videos. We hope to up the pace at some point and release an episode per day (at the moment, we release every other day), but that would depend on whether or not we'd be able to move to doing this full-time. At the moment, we are doing it in our spare time as we have to stick to our day jobs in order to get by. If the show starts bringing in enough revenue at some point, we will definitely move to full-time and increase the pace. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites because they deserve more recognition. I agree with all you said. There are some things that set them apart, one is not following the usual image of metal girl bands trying to look like men; they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Some people say that metal has never been so gorgeous, not only because they’re beautiful women but mainly because their musicianship and skills are top notch. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Yes, it seems this band is becoming a legend.

Music by Miyako; Lyrics by Asami. The Chopin piece is consider difficult to play because of the heavy use required by the lefthand. It is used as an exercise for the lefthand by piano sensei's. When Miyako decided she wanted to play metal music. She got a guitar and a "How To" book an taught herself to play!! No lessons. Midori and Miyako practice/rehearse in Miyako's studio to keep in sync. There is video by Miyako of her home studio and another on her customized guitar.
As to another superb guitarist duo, checkout Nemophila and drummer is damn good and a good friend of Haruna.

Well gentlemen, I think it's safe to say that you have now earned your Wolfpack membership cards. :) To me, Miyako (the pianist) is a musical genius. She not only didn't start learning guitar until she was 18, but she did it by learning from books. Midori (the other guitarist) went to musical school to learn guitar; Miyako is self-taught. I love how she weaves classical music into the metal songs she composes. If you like Beethoven, then you need to listen to her composition "Dystopia Symphony." It is her tribute to Beethoven. She even wrote it in the format of a Beethoven Sonata - opening, 3 movements and coda (ending). She uses the 3rd movement of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" as the basis for her song. There is no video of them playing the song, but there are fan made videos of the music with photos of the band. Another song that i think you would love is "Frozen Serenade." Take care my friends!

Another version of Swan Song concert video.
    RUclips channel"MusicMania"
Lovebites - "Swan Song" (Heavy Metal Never Dies - Tokyo Dome City Hall 2021)
In this live concert, Asami performs a Swan Lake-like dance in the prelude and a 'dying swan' in the ending.
Miyako initially ordered a white piano and received a Roland grand piano type keyboard.
Miyako ordered a grand piano because she felt uncomfortable with the difference between the heavy touch of the piano keys she normally plays and the light touch of the keyboard keys.
Keyboard keys can be made mechanically heavier, but the keyboard material itself is different and will not give the same touch.
The cost of renting a piano was also very different.
In this video you will discover how different the sound of a grand piano and a keyboard can be.

When we started, we had no idea if we'd connect with people, but thought we'd start doing it for fun and see how we go. The most important thing to us is to remain genuine and real, as otherwise we don't see the point. We joke around a little here and there, but we do try to remain fair and respectful to the music we cover and the musicians behind it.
We have so little spare time that this has become a tough undertaking, where now we'll either find a way to make this our full-time jobs, or we'd have to get back to doing what we're doing. You guys are fun to watch; if you want to explode your channel, summon the Nightwish Army by reacting to official live version from Wacken 2013 of Ghost Love Score. You probably are going to need another jaw surgery as the performance is legendary and also the most reacted video in YT.

Yes, we are very familiar with the song. We have it on our list, which is now VERY long... Unfortunately once we do get to it, it will not be a first-time reaction, more of a re-visit, but should be fun 🙂
Thank you for viewing and engaging, Esko. Much appreciated! 🙏

Sometimes I call them "Clockwork Lovebites", because they just play that way.
Sometimes I call them "Metal Masterpieces, Inc.", because that is what they _do_ .
Most of the times I call them "Unforseen and incomparable precious gift to Metal", because I think, that that is _what_ they are.
And 5 absolutely unique and sympathetic personalities, that is _who_ they are.

How these ladies are not better know worldwide is just wrong.

Agreed! We hope to remedy that somewhat, if we get a large enough following. We hope to cover a lot more of their work!

Well, LOVEBITES was formed in 2016, however, it must be said that the women were not that successful worldwide until the middle of 2018. They have worked very hard on several LP's and EP's as well as on their playing together skills during these 2 years. The LOVEBITES career really took off after the summer of 2018 after they played at the Wacken Openair in Germany and the Bloodstock Festival in the UK. Had it not been for that damn Corona pandemic in the spring of 2020, they would have continued to play live internationally. Basically their international career was just about 2 years. We hope that they will start again internationally in 2023, but at the latest in 2024. But we fans have to be realistic, they are young very attractive women, so it can be assumed that their husbands will be jumping on them more often every week. So new babies must always be expected.

We're not sure how many babies are planned and when, but we sure hope that they tour Australia and Israel in the near future! 🙂

The great reaction, as always. It is so cool to watch these videos with you. It is like you watching your favorite music videos with your friends :) Unfortenately, my real friends do not like Lovebites as much as me. And I can't talk with them about my favorite band. And I don't know why someone couldn't love this amazing music.
"Swan song" is love from the first sight. OK, all Lovebites songs are the same - you love them from the first sight.
If you want to hear the song with the same style - try the song "Frozen Serenade". Of course, you will be impressed. But if you want a heavier song, listen to the song "Break the wall".
Thank you for your reaction! More Lovebites, more Nemophila, more BAND-MAID on the channel.
And you can check out another Japanese heavy metal band, that will impress you. This is Unlucky Morpheus. Just try the live video "Black Pentagram".

Thank you! Yes, we understand you completely as not all our friends appreciate the same kind of music we do (though our tastes are very broad), so we have to talk about music on a show spanning two continents! 😉
Both "Frozen Serenade" and "Break The Wall" are on our list and coming soon! Stay tuned! Also on the way are more episodes covering LB, Nemophila and Band-Maid. We are definitely looking forward to recording those! Unlucky Morpheus is now added to the list.

Howzit again Asaf and Itai.. Great reaction to a masterpiece of a song.. Glad you came back to Lovebites. You have another 40 odd songs to go and they are about to release their new album.. You have so much to see... Fami is the new bass player, Miho is a ledgend (Former bassist for Lovebites) Her style, ability and character will forever be Lovebites for me, but Fami is a whole new monster.. Completely different style and amazing enegy.. Watch this cover of hers from when she was 17, she is 20 now and a real force to be reconed with.. ruclips.net/video/Q_UqztwYAOU/видео.html
Watch this before you see her with Lovebites, but be warned neck brace and seat belt required.. As usual, best wishes to Australia and Israel from France..

    1. Great reaction
    2. This one is one of their mega masterpieces the next are Edge of the World, Epilogue and Frozen Serenade
    3. The rest above 50 songs are maserpieces they never go down from this level.
    4. Playing piano is obligatory in Japan each member of this band plays this instrument Asami vocalist even in two pieces.
    5. The high level of skills of guitarists in Japan you can hear here ruclips.net/video/F8qP9qW8KcY/видео.html
Obviously M&M is left at the end for dessert.

      1. thank you do much! We truly appreciate it!
      2. The three songs are already on our requests list and we are excited to hopefully get to them soon!
      3. We look forward to hopefully get to (at least) the majority of those 50 at some stage, especially if we are able to turn this into a full-time thing. At the moment our day jobs pay the bills, so we have very little time and too many artists to cover, but we do our best. Finding bands like LB has been a huge gift!
      4. It shows! They are so extremely talented.
      5. Thank you for that link! We enjoyed that video immensely! So much more music to look forward to!
Thank you for viewing and engaging, Marcin. Much appreciated! 🙏
