I feel like this is one of those games where i get really into it at the start but don’t roll lucky. Spend every day doing dailies on either multiple characters or accounts to save up for a currency you can also buy with cash. Then roll for an event and get unlucky again. Now either i spend money or refuse to because i know quitting will get even harder. Now i progress in the game by grinding as a second day job and the game turns into a chore. At that point im a few months in and reflect on what i have been wasting my time on for the past time
Stick to one gacha unless your f2p. The rest of your free time play other single player jrpg or whatever genre you enjoy. Me currently playing XC3 And forbidden west. While doing my daylies in Genhsin.

No offense dude but you’re installing a sort of sketchy questionable Chinese mobile game that has been ported to your PC or to Consol which has a extremely sketchy store. Everything about the game is half ass. The Conrad is good but the but the menus and all that I mean, it says it’s out of a poor excuse really I might’ve liked it better than gentian we’re not for the fact that the user interface and all the menus is so messed up and it’s so confusing but you’re you’re playing a sketchy ass Chinese game and you’re weirded out by the fact that it has an anti-cheat software that you can’t defeat I mean seriously that’s the call failure to do your research before installing something from China. just an advice for void rift , cause everyone seems to be doing it wrong. Your goal as you may know is to find those 3 keys to unlock the final boss. but you dont have to enter the final boss instantly. theres a list of names below the key counter. tha list indicates the people that are ready to join the boss fight. basically just go around and collect buffs from mobs until ur name gets that little light mark next to it. its going to make everyones life easier
Those boxes indicate if you or the other players have the Wish buff, which increases stats like max HP for everyone, not just the buff holder. If all 4 players got it, it will make things easier. But it's hard to find that buff without wandering around and wasting time.
I've been having fun with it since release. My only real complaints are server lag and unclear menu UIs. The actual gameplay has been really fun with multiple gamemodes and lots to explore atleast for now

I loooved the anime aesthetic of Genshin but when it comes to RPG’s I like to make my own character so I was bummed you couldn’t, but I’m going to give this a go since it looks like you can!

Aside from the time gates, a gripe I have is weapon sets, swapping sets gets annoying and there's only 3 sets. 6 slots would've been better considering how many combinations you may want to try for different scenarios. Otherwise very enjoyable game!
This is one of my main gripes too. In addition to more slots, I'd have liked it if there was a keybind for switching weapon sets, similar to switching relics. But obviously make it so you can't switch while you're already in an instance or in combat. Like you said, there's various scenarios that you'd need different sets for, so I feel like making it less annoying to switch around would be nice.
The game looks pretty cool, but I wish they had put more effort into offering controller support. You can't use the controller in any menus, and you cannot remap the controls. I'm excited to play it when they fix this.
Yeah i heard for controller and mobile support was not implemented as well as mouse and keyboard, playing on controller sounds cool i hope they fix it for controller and mobile users
I doubt they'll fix it, but i hope they will, this game has been out for two years already and they haven't fixed the game breaking bugs yet. like Duplication and Unlimited Pulls
This was my main complaint too. I have issues with my wrists when using kb+mouse and my hands go numb, so I prefer controllers for the ergonomics. I wish they could have just copy/pasted Genshin's controller layout because it's excellent. As it stands I can really only play for an hour or so before it becomes uncomfortable mashing left click constantly. If they can fix this I'd be willing to put a lot more time into the game.

More Fun = ToF I have played enough Genshin and invested my time there, but I’d say ToF is actually Fun and more free to play friendly in terms of loots to use in Gatcha system.
This game is good. Its not perfect but it does enough to be genuinely fun. Im suprised he didnt mention how janky the game can be. textures popping in all over the place things loading in late/very immersion breaking jank. I am able to overlook it, its not a deal breaker for me but it is there and for some it can be deal breaking. The best praise I can give this game is its ability to break down the barriers you might have about gacha. Ive never ever played a gacha game cause it always just seemed, like, evil as a monetization method but this game really is free to play friendly. The rewards will start slowing down around level 20ish and by level 30 you might be itching to spend but by then its likely you'll have a very good base set of gear so I never felt the need to spend. Ive equated Gacha, free to play, sort of like a long long run of slay the spire. You are going to get a lot of rewards and the fun ive had is making the most of what ive got. From a guy who has NEVER played gacha before ever to give this game an 8/10 is high praise from me. The barrier to entry is a download and an account. Its worth trying for sure if you are not someone to fall prey to gambling addictions.
@@armorvil I mean, at its core its more MMORPG than it is Genshin Impact. There's a load of things you can do solo but it also has dungeons and raids you are gonna want to do at some point and you are gonna need a team for that. The PvE content is setup in a nice way where the whales really can carry the free to play players. Ive done a bunch of dungeons and I havent come across a situation where a whale had any issue with being paired with me and other F2P players. I really cant imagine it would ever be a big problem.
I'm loving this game so far, I do try to aim for 100% per zone. But, I'm just enjoying casually exploring and combat. I got really nice draws with the Black Nuclei. I've gotten all the characters I've wanted minus Samir (the dual wield gun girl) the combat is so much fun, even with just the spear and the base weapons I loved it. It's so much less gacha-y than I was expecting, they give you a great chance at getting characters, and the in-game purchases really aren't needed. You can F2P this game, and still get to end game (and be meta) about the same as most people, even if they pay some money. It's great
I was surprised by how solid this game is overall. It has a lot of cool features you'd want in an RPG and a surprising amount of depth for an anime game. It makes meaningful improvements on the Genshin/Honkai/whatever combat formula. The only things I'd say are objectively awful are definitely the UI design and the way it makes you click through all its menus to collect a bunch of small rewards that you got for doing basically nothing. That said, the game is very generous with pulls compared to Genshin, so I'm willing to put up with it.
I've been hearing that the generosity isn't as great as it may seem. Eventually, it will become harder and harder to get dark crystals in the late game. Gold and black nucleus will only allow you to get the standard banner weapons, so eventually many of the newer weapons will be very out of reach to the average f2p, unless you are willing to make reroll accounts and save up for each banner
ToF is more generous than Genshin on a daily basis; Pretty sure you're guaranteed at least 1 gold and 3 black nuclei per day from bounties, compared to only 1/3 of a pull per day in Genshin. However, it's relatively more difficult to determine if the game overall will be more generous in a general sense. This is going to depend on update speed, and how many pulls you get from new areas. ToF seems like it's more generous, but it's hard to say exactly.
Been playing this the past few days. I like it a lot better than Genshin because I'm a scifi nerd and I like all the traversal mechanics with the platform gun, jetboard, jetpack, and grapple gun. I also don't mind the gacha since they give me a ton of the currency for free just exploring the world. Tempted to spend some cash to get the Dual blades I want lmao. You get way more than 50 for free. I've gone through over 100 of the basic black ones and almost 100 of the gold ones... and that was just on the tutorial island lmao. I have a LOT of downtime at work. So I play this as my ADHD side project lol.
Im using the great sword and great hammer mostly going Tank since my friend likes to play Healer. Solo I go Great sword, Scythe, and lightning daggers.
Genshin is a single player, story driven, anime, rpg only thing it has in common with genshin is anime, genshin is not a mmorpg and has no PvP, they have little to nothing in common
Every freezing weapon attack can freeze water an make it a solid platform. Every fire weapon attack can burn which is useful for opening pathways and unlocking nucleus on world map.
The biggest CON for me is that this game is not polished. When hopping while climbing, it often glitches. There's also tons of stuttering and frame rate drops. Surfaces are also inconsistent -- a surface that allows you to climb would be unclimbable the next time that some times drops you off the cliff. Just more polish and this game will shine.
Big plus, you can see all collectables on mini map from a fair distance away. Compared to genshin where you only see it if its like within 10 feet, this was a huge plus. Additionally you can see them on the main map too (but you have to zoom in all the way)

When compared to Genshin collectibles, ToF prefers quantity over quality. Nucleus every 5m and almost none of them are puzzles, just the same stuff and over. That’s what Genshin did at the beginning but they’ve changed it over time. (the archipelago puzzles are really refreshing) Overall I’m not a big fan of this op mini map, I literally hide it everytime I explore a new zone
@@legacymse7095 I wouldn't really agree with what you said right there since everything looks the same to me on the current state of Genshin hence why I stopped playing it, it's getting all too samey and stagnant. ToF brings something fresh like using the Jetpack, grappling hook and snowboard relic on traversing different kinds of terrain on different methods. Some puzzles on ToF like decoding those password-locked chambers by locating those robotic chests thingies to complete the numbers, pushing boxes, hitting the correct sequence of levers, do-re-mi mushrooms and other puzzles on Ruins are fresh to me, hopefully they add more stuff in the future. That's my take on this matter.
There is a Team Call button which transfers all your teammates to your exact location and channel bypassing the 30 mins cooldown - the 3rd icon top to bottom on the left of the party portraits. That cooldown is most likely put there to not farm bosses/rare mobs on other channels non-stop.
currently progressing on 100% clear of the last available zone, damage output vise as well you dont need to be a whale to be top dps, as all the group content that i have done, i have always been top dps, depending on the place easily pulling close to 4mil dps, while the closest second does around 3mil tops. and i havent spent any money on the gatcha. Overall yes the game is pay 2 win, but one also has to take into account that its also free, best advise i can give is to just give it a shot, if you dont like it dont play it. Edit - by this point i would welcome black nucleus because they give a lot of weapon upgrade xp, which by now at level 50 im starting to starve on xD even tho im only focusing on 3 weapons. and have 100% cleared all currently available zones. the center zone also has no exploration progress but has a lot of summon collections at least for now.
The game was fun for the first few days like any gacha, but I got tired of having to do daily grind as my second job and felt I was wasting my limited time.

just regarding the lvl cap currently it unlocks 2 lvl every two days and then after 50 or so it's even 1 lvl every 3 days, that's from the official discord it's a lot of fun honestly, though it isn't really f2p friendly so people should be aware of that you don't get a lot of pulls after the map is fully explored but if you play for the multiplayer aspect than you shoudl enjoy it personally i am just really annoyed by the time gate/lvl cap i get that some cap is good and fine but it's a bit out of hand i might just joine again after three month or so when the restrictions are removed (101 days until the final lvl is released...)
Apparently the world boss chests can give you weapons. I cleared Robarg for the first time and my World Boss chest gave me King's Scythe(which was an SSR I didn't have) Was very surprised they actually give you stuff for free as much as it does in ToF.
That’s exactly what I thought fact I pretty sure I heard somebody explain it that way, so it really does just boils down to you have three weapons that you can switch between to do different kinds of damage
I like it tbh, just hope they fix the technical flaws, improve pvp, and don't get anti f2p greedy even if gacha/lootboxes are inheritly greedy. Been really enjoying the co-op far more than I do on other mmorpgs and hope they continue to build on that and add even more difficult content.
I have just got all zones to 100% this weekend, also finished the current story content. This game is really decent if you want something like Genshin but not Genshin. I quite enjoy this genre and this game is being rather generous. I managed to get a 5 star SSR and a 4 star SSR while being 100% free to play. I think I ll keep playin till I reach max lvl and then take a break until new content is released.

Im usually the guy carrying the operations with big dmg numbers and i havnt spent a single dollar so its not always whales doing the big numbers! this game actually rewards playing alot
"I like how there is a DPS meter" "Even though there is a whale in our team, the boss is still taking a while to die" Not unexpected, but the game is clearly designed to bait people into spending money with "whale envy" by showing you these things, on top of the fact it seems that enemies are balanced around having a whale involved.
can also be someone over level/level caped. there's even a support currency and shop for going to lower level dungeons to carry people. ex: today i was farming the currency by doing a lvl 20ish dungeon while im lvl 40 doing 99% of the dmg.

Yes, but once level cap is reached by all the main playerbase who sticks around, like how most players in Genshin Implact are AR60 now, levels wont change anything, and whales with the best weapons and most money spent will top those meters on money spent with luck being a minor influence next to cash.
I tried it for a bit, but these menus and UI were a real killer for me. It sometimes felt like I was spending more time in there than in the actual game world. The story so far was surprisingly interesting. I just may have played too much GW2 to accept these long dialog cut scenes and simple quests.

Regarding map completion, i %100 ed everything avalible every day the timegate unlocked and i got burnout af. dont do what i did exploration can be anytime just do your dailies and use your vitality, just enjoy the ride
for me the game is perfect while i'm waiting for new update or done with contents from other games. exploration is my most favourite thing to do. finding chests or side quest in an unexpected corner of the world is so satisfying. oh and i can make my perfect husbando too lol
I'm pleasantly surprise on how much I enjoy this game. I set the bar very low when trying this game and since it's pretty much genshin with people in it, i tend to keep comparing it with each other (I'm not genshin andys, stop playing right before inazuma). But as the time progress, I comes to like the game, and I'm sure more than genshin which is not what I expected before. It might be honeymoon period, or the amount of luck I got with gacha, but yeah I'm enjoying it.
I'm in the same boat. I also stopped at inazuma. I initially wrote ToF off as a scifi genshin clone but after trying it out I'm genuinely enjoying it a lot more than I would. Altho the game is not so polished and janky at times, it is still enjoyable to play. And as someone who plays bethesda games and in the past gothic, I can overlook jankiness when the gameplay aspects are entertaining.
To answer your question of whether it is possible to pull 2 SSR's in one 10 pull... Yes, it is. I've personally pulled Meryll and Tsubasa on the same 10 pull on like my first 50 pulls after starting the game. Good luck? Idk.
All those sponsored videos are starting to becoming +18 for how hard they tried to appeal to big companies and in this case the Big Monopoly Tencent, after how many content creator tried to make sure they are unbiased and honest being very critical with big companies like Activision blizzard but that was only because they didn't pay them, but now a even more shady company like Tencent are getting all the love from many content creators/influencer that show us that we live capitalism and any other thing is just to make our brand better and bigger.
2 weeks later and yeah, its absolutely worth playing, 2.0 brings a lot of improvements and they have been nerfing limited chars for global. Hope for a fun and balanced game is strong, no one really likes a gacha except those gacha people but it has good mmo bones underneath it which was surprising. I'd call it mmo-lite as its not for playing 12 hours a day but 2 hours a day at most. Oneof the reasons why my friends have picked it up is exactly that, not having sweaty no lifers effect your game as much. People who pay can only help you in co-op so its win win.
Decent game, fun combat, some okay mechanics, but other times it feels like the scope is too big. Terrible UI. Gacha system does not sit well for me especially when it's an MMO and you are playing with other players who can just whale to be way stronger than you.
As i grow older im more into mmo as i have side money to spent on mmo although not much but it made me able to “compete”. Well i tend to think of it as hobby like people buying expensive bycycle or golf sticks

I just started playing and at first I was just in awe of the graphics but I was getting 30 FPS.. I thought to myself “Well it’s running on my phone so what can I expect” but then I realized it was just capped to 30. Runs at 60FPS like butter now, I’m completely amazed

I'm really enjoying tower of fantasy and look forward to 2.0/content after 2.0. Also I like how his cons are "minor"-oney that can be (easily) fixed by the devs. Can't say anything against them as well. Tho... I'll wait for the endgame until I make a final conclusion and spent some money.
Eh, it's a fun timesink. For a gacha game, it's PvE side is really enjoyable. PvP is a mess, specially regarding latency. Character customization is A+, Exploration is A+. Story is horrible, almost cringe at times. Severe lack of polish on some UI elements and on everything regarding the story flow, lots of cutscenes where the audio suddenly cuts off, or the translation is off, or shit even repeats 2x times out of nowhere. It has potential, definitely, but they gotta fix the stuff that new players get to see early on (dunno how 2.0 stuff is on CN, hope it gets better).
only con i felt missing was the fact that p2w pulls are quite expensive. so even as a f2p player that occasionally want to spend some additional money from time to time u gotta think many times about it because u basiclly get not much for your money.
If you think this is expensive you havent tried any other gacha game. Genshin, to mention one, is almost double the price per pull and its way less generous
As someone who’s max rank atm, it is fun and worth to check out. The gacha system isn’t so bad compared to genshin and I’ve whaled 9-10k on GI and 100$ so far on ToF, but if you’re expecting genshin it’s not really like genshin that much; the online coop is a lot of fun and the “dungeons” is fun as you can have tanks and healers. Characters only matter because of their weapons, and their character is just for appearance and that’s all. There is time gated MSQ, but it’s everyday on reset when it happens. Anyways, any other questions if people want to know Just ask and give the game a try!
Also. Vehicles are unlocked from exploring or killing certain enemies and they have a low chance of dropping the material. Like 0.5%. So it’s just play the game and farm those enemies
Oh haha. To upgrade your weapons, you ascend it and it makes your weapons stronger and do different abilities. It’s like constellations in genshin, but it’s just for your weapons.
You will regret for wasting your 100 dollar after powercreep starts hitting in this game. If you are pvp kinda guy, every new banner will be powercreep 😂
One thing about equalized pvp. It is equalized yes, but some weapons have better skills, abilities and passives than others. SSR weapon are still mandatory. Also it just so happens that the top tier weapon in PvP is Nemesis, which is also the hardest weapon to get for f2p. It is still p2w
Actually it's false that Nemesis is the hardest weapon to get. I got her guaranteed as a f2p with 120 pulls within 2 weeks of playing daily to level cap. Pretty much anyone can get her in the current patch with all the free rewards available, but this will probably change in the future.

I’m kinda interested to get into this game but I wanna wait for the hype to go down a bit and just lurk until there’s an event that looks really exciting. Right now the promotions for this game isn’t really triggering FOMO for me yet. It looks pretty chill but definitely grindy. Almost every streamer that tried this out on release day, showcased more gambling gameplay than anything else and played around with the character customization (that aspect isn’t really that exciting to me bcuz I usual just go with the randomized character if it takes me over an hour to create). But it doesn’t seem too bad. Everyone says there’s practically no story to this game and that makes it even less intriguing for me to get into but I’m taking it with a grain of salt since there’s so many players that abuse the skip option.
When the Tower of Fantasy 2.0 release date gets announced consider playing it maybe a few weeks before it drops. From what I've heard the story and immersion really kicks off at that point. The current story content on global feels like a rushed and unpolished teaser for what's to come. It's not an awful story by any means, there's just not much of it so you will definitely get bored if you start playing now.
While the game isn't perfect it is solid and fun. I'm glad you took the time and effort to actually explore the game and what it offers. Thank you for the video! Ps: A friend of mine got 3 SSR's in around 200 black nucleus.

No offense dude but you’re installing a sort of sketchy questionable Chinese mobile game that has been ported to your PC or to Consol which has a extremely sketchy store. Everything about the game is half ass. The Conrad is good but the but the menus and all that I mean, it says it’s out of a poor excuse really I might’ve liked it better than gentian we’re not for the fact that the user interface and all the menus is so messed up and it’s so confusing but you’re you’re playing a sketchy ass Chinese game and you’re weirded out by the fact that it has an anti-cheat software that you can’t defeat I mean seriously that’s the call failure to do your research before installing something from China. It’s sad that China is invading our entire gaming industry now there are so many popular Chinese games and they’re not just invading it but this game gentian impact are both Japanese style games made by Chinese companies And I don’t know what gentian impact is like on a PC but there’s worlds of difference in the polish between jenshon and Impact and tower of fantasy I mean just 180° and the quality control. However, I do see sketchy shit with that game to the mobile game for iOS which I downloaded because it’s cross platform and cross save so I can log onto my phone and get out my characters but every time there’s an update I end up having to Jerry rig some shit to try and get it to know that I already have an account it acts like a new install, tries to force me to register a new account every single time, then I fix it and it’s good until they update it again and then it’s fucked up again so you know sketchy like I’m saying sketchy shit Chinese development with lots of sketchy shit
just an advice for void rift , cause everyone seems to be doing it wrong. Your goal as you may know is to find those 3 keys to unlock the final boss. but you dont have to enter the final boss instantly. theres a list of names below the key counter. tha list indicates the people that are ready to join the boss fight. basically just go around and collect buffs from mobs until ur name gets that little light mark next to it. its going to make everyones life easier
Also given that you have additional buffs you can pass it to your team mate and you need the buff 3x times in order to turn on green cube
best do these with your guildmates as randoms have no patience and can ruin a run easily

Those boxes indicate if you or the other players have the Wish buff, which increases stats like max HP for everyone, not just the buff holder. If all 4 players got it, it will make things easier. But it's hard to find that buff without wandering around and wasting time.

I've been having fun with it since release. My only real complaints are server lag and unclear menu UIs. The actual gameplay has been really fun with multiple gamemodes and lots to explore atleast for now
2.0 gives even more to explore so can't wait till that update gets released on global

I loooved the anime aesthetic of Genshin but when it comes to RPG’s I like to make my own character so I was bummed you couldn’t, but I’m going to give this a go since it looks like you can!

Aside from the time gates, a gripe I have is weapon sets, swapping sets gets annoying and there's only 3 sets. 6 slots would've been better considering how many combinations you may want to try for different scenarios. Otherwise very enjoyable game!
This is one of my main gripes too. In addition to more slots, I'd have liked it if there was a keybind for switching weapon sets, similar to switching relics. But obviously make it so you can't switch while you're already in an instance or in combat. Like you said, there's various scenarios that you'd need different sets for, so I feel like making it less annoying to switch around would be nice.

The game looks pretty cool, but I wish they had put more effort into offering controller support. You can't use the controller in any menus, and you cannot remap the controls. I'm excited to play it when they fix this.

This was my main complaint too. I have issues with my wrists when using kb+mouse and my hands go numb, so I prefer controllers for the ergonomics. I wish they could have just copy/pasted Genshin's controller layout because it's excellent. As it stands I can really only play for an hour or so before it becomes uncomfortable mashing left click constantly. If they can fix this I'd be willing to put a lot more time into the game.
Friends are loving the MMO aspects of this game. I love that we are f2p and almost 5 stars some SSR's already.

I have played enough Genshin and invested my time there, but I’d say ToF is actually Fun and more free to play friendly in terms of loots to use in Gatcha system.

This game is good. Its not perfect but it does enough to be genuinely fun. Im suprised he didnt mention how janky the game can be. textures popping in all over the place things loading in late/very immersion breaking jank. I am able to overlook it, its not a deal breaker for me but it is there and for some it can be deal breaking. The best praise I can give this game is its ability to break down the barriers you might have about gacha. Ive never ever played a gacha game cause it always just seemed, like, evil as a monetization method but this game really is free to play friendly. The rewards will start slowing down around level 20ish and by level 30 you might be itching to spend but by then its likely you'll have a very good base set of gear so I never felt the need to spend. Ive equated Gacha, free to play, sort of like a long long run of slay the spire. You are going to get a lot of rewards and the fun ive had is making the most of what ive got. From a guy who has NEVER played gacha before ever to give this game an 8/10 is high praise from me. The barrier to entry is a download and an account. Its worth trying for sure if you are not someone to fall prey to gambling addictions.

@@armorvil I mean, at its core its more MMORPG than it is Genshin Impact. There's a load of things you can do solo but it also has dungeons and raids you are gonna want to do at some point and you are gonna need a team for that. The PvE content is setup in a nice way where the whales really can carry the free to play players. Ive done a bunch of dungeons and I havent come across a situation where a whale had any issue with being paired with me and other F2P players. I really cant imagine it would ever be a big problem.
I'm loving this game so far, I do try to aim for 100% per zone. But, I'm just enjoying casually exploring and combat. I got really nice draws with the Black Nuclei. I've gotten all the characters I've wanted minus Samir (the dual wield gun girl) the combat is so much fun, even with just the spear and the base weapons I loved it. It's so much less gacha-y than I was expecting, they give you a great chance at getting characters, and the in-game purchases really aren't needed. You can F2P this game, and still get to end game (and be meta) about the same as most people, even if they pay some money. It's great

I was surprised by how solid this game is overall. It has a lot of cool features you'd want in an RPG and a surprising amount of depth for an anime game. It makes meaningful improvements on the Genshin/Honkai/whatever combat formula. The only things I'd say are objectively awful are definitely the UI design and the way it makes you click through all its menus to collect a bunch of small rewards that you got for doing basically nothing. That said, the game is very generous with pulls compared to Genshin, so I'm willing to put up with it.

I've been hearing that the generosity isn't as great as it may seem. Eventually, it will become harder and harder to get dark crystals in the late game. Gold and black nucleus will only allow you to get the standard banner weapons, so eventually many of the newer weapons will be very out of reach to the average f2p, unless you are willing to make reroll accounts and save up for each banner
The UI is soo big on pc screen, makes it overwhelming. But after days, i got used to it
That bunch of small rewards are only at the beginning of the game. You will rarely get them when you progress more into the game.
ToF is more generous than Genshin on a daily basis; Pretty sure you're guaranteed at least 1 gold and 3 black nuclei per day from bounties, compared to only 1/3 of a pull per day in Genshin.
However, it's relatively more difficult to determine if the game overall will be more generous in a general sense. This is going to depend on update speed, and how many pulls you get from new areas. ToF seems like it's more generous, but it's hard to say exactly.
Been playing this the past few days. I like it a lot better than Genshin because I'm a scifi nerd and I like all the traversal mechanics with the platform gun, jetboard, jetpack, and grapple gun.
I also don't mind the gacha since they give me a ton of the currency for free just exploring the world. Tempted to spend some cash to get the Dual blades I want lmao.
You get way more than 50 for free. I've gone through over 100 of the basic black ones and almost 100 of the gold ones... and that was just on the tutorial island lmao.

Im using the great sword and great hammer mostly going Tank since my friend likes to play Healer. Solo I go Great sword, Scythe, and lightning daggers.
Genshin is a single player, story driven, anime, rpg only thing it has in common with genshin is anime, genshin is not a mmorpg and has no PvP, they have little to nothing in common

Every freezing weapon attack can freeze water an make it a solid platform. Every fire weapon attack can burn which is useful for opening pathways and unlocking nucleus on world map.

The biggest CON for me is that this game is not polished. When hopping while climbing, it often glitches. There's also tons of stuttering and frame rate drops. Surfaces are also inconsistent -- a surface that allows you to climb would be unclimbable the next time that some times drops you off the cliff. Just more polish and this game will shine.

Big plus, you can see all collectables on mini map from a fair distance away. Compared to genshin where you only see it if its like within 10 feet, this was a huge plus. Additionally you can see them on the main map too (but you have to zoom in all the way)

When compared to Genshin collectibles, ToF prefers quantity over quality. Nucleus every 5m and almost none of them are puzzles, just the same stuff and over. That’s what Genshin did at the beginning but they’ve changed it over time. (the archipelago puzzles are really refreshing)
Overall I’m not a big fan of this op mini map, I literally hide it everytime I explore a new zone
@@legacymse7095 I wouldn't really agree with what you said right there since everything looks the same to me on the current state of Genshin hence why I stopped playing it, it's getting all too samey and stagnant. ToF brings something fresh like using the Jetpack, grappling hook and snowboard relic on traversing different kinds of terrain on different methods. Some puzzles on ToF like decoding those password-locked chambers by locating those robotic chests thingies to complete the numbers, pushing boxes, hitting the correct sequence of levers, do-re-mi mushrooms and other puzzles on Ruins are fresh to me, hopefully they add more stuff in the future. That's my take on this matter.
There is a Team Call button which transfers all your teammates to your exact location and channel bypassing the 30 mins cooldown - the 3rd icon top to bottom on the left of the party portraits. That cooldown is most likely put there to not farm bosses/rare mobs on other channels non-stop.

It's worth noting, at level 50, the level increase slows to 1 level a day. It's like, 60 something days to hit max level.
currently progressing on 100% clear of the last available zone, damage output vise as well you dont need to be a whale to be top dps, as all the group content that i have done, i have always been top dps, depending on the place easily pulling close to 4mil dps, while the closest second does around 3mil tops. and i havent spent any money on the gatcha. Overall yes the game is pay 2 win, but one also has to take into account that its also free, best advise i can give is to just give it a shot, if you dont like it dont play it. Edit - by this point i would welcome black nucleus because they give a lot of weapon upgrade xp, which by now at level 50 im starting to starve on xD even tho im only focusing on 3 weapons. and have 100% cleared all currently available zones. the center zone also has no exploration progress but has a lot of summon collections at least for now.
The game was fun for the first few days like any gacha, but I got tired of having to do daily grind as my second job and felt I was wasting my limited time.

just regarding the lvl cap currently it unlocks 2 lvl every two days and then after 50 or so it's even 1 lvl every 3 days, that's from the official discord
it's a lot of fun honestly, though it isn't really f2p friendly so people should be aware of that you don't get a lot of pulls after the map is fully explored but if you play for the multiplayer aspect than you shoudl enjoy it
personally i am just really annoyed by the time gate/lvl cap i get that some cap is good and fine but it's a bit out of hand i might just joine again after three month or so when the restrictions are removed (101 days until the final lvl is released...)
So a month to get to 60, and another month to make it to 70. Hmm.

Yes and no. The story must be completed solo but most everything else co-op is needed/encouraged. You can explore the World with friends though

Apparently the world boss chests can give you weapons. I cleared Robarg for the first time and my World Boss chest gave me King's Scythe(which was an SSR I didn't have)

I like it tbh, just hope they fix the technical flaws, improve pvp, and don't get anti f2p greedy even if gacha/lootboxes are inheritly greedy. Been really enjoying the co-op far more than I do on other mmorpgs and hope they continue to build on that and add even more difficult content.

I have just got all zones to 100% this weekend, also finished the current story content. This game is really decent if you want something like Genshin but not Genshin.
I quite enjoy this genre and this game is being rather generous. I managed to get a 5 star SSR and a 4 star SSR while being 100% free to play. I think I ll keep playin till I reach max lvl and then take a break until new content is released.

Not unexpected, but the game is clearly designed to bait people into spending money with "whale envy" by showing you these things, on top of the fact it seems that enemies are balanced around having a whale involved.
can also be someone over level/level caped. there's even a support currency and shop for going to lower level dungeons to carry people. ex: today i was farming the currency by doing a lvl 20ish dungeon while im lvl 40 doing 99% of the dmg.

Yes, but once level cap is reached by all the main playerbase who sticks around, like how most players in Genshin Implact are AR60 now, levels wont change anything, and whales with the best weapons and most money spent will top those meters on money spent with luck being a minor influence next to cash.

Wish genshin had this co-op social aspect that I long awaited for. Already made some good memories with my crew on Nightfall!
I tried it for a bit, but these menus and UI were a real killer for me. It sometimes felt like I was spending more time in there than in the actual game world.
The story so far was surprisingly interesting. I just may have played too much GW2 to accept these long dialog cut scenes and simple quests.

for me the game is perfect while i'm waiting for new update or done with contents from other games. exploration is my most favourite thing to do. finding chests or side quest in an unexpected corner of the world is so satisfying. oh and i can make my perfect husbando too lol

The elemental resistance system is so awful. On late game missions, 2 out of the 4 elements will do 35% damage against enemies.
I'm pleasantly surprise on how much I enjoy this game. I set the bar very low when trying this game and since it's pretty much genshin with people in it, i tend to keep comparing it with each other (I'm not genshin andys, stop playing right before inazuma). But as the time progress, I comes to like the game, and I'm sure more than genshin which is not what I expected before. It might be honeymoon period, or the amount of luck I got with gacha, but yeah I'm enjoying it.
I'm in the same boat. I also stopped at inazuma. I initially wrote ToF off as a scifi genshin clone but after trying it out I'm genuinely enjoying it a lot more than I would. Altho the game is not so polished and janky at times, it is still enjoyable to play. And as someone who plays bethesda games and in the past gothic, I can overlook jankiness when the gameplay aspects are entertaining.

All those sponsored videos are starting to becoming +18 for how hard they tried to appeal to big companies and in this case the Big Monopoly Tencent, after how many content creator tried to make sure they are unbiased and honest being very critical with big companies like Activision blizzard but that was only because they didn't pay them, but now a even more shady company like Tencent are getting all the love from many content creators/influencer that show us that we live capitalism and any other thing is just to make our brand better and bigger.
2 weeks later and yeah, its absolutely worth playing, 2.0 brings a lot of improvements and they have been nerfing limited chars for global. Hope for a fun and balanced game is strong, no one really likes a gacha except those gacha people but it has good mmo bones underneath it which was surprising. I'd call it mmo-lite as its not for playing 12 hours a day but 2 hours a day at most. Oneof the reasons why my friends have picked it up is exactly that, not having sweaty no lifers effect your game as much. People who pay can only help you in co-op so its win win.
Decent game, fun combat, some okay mechanics, but other times it feels like the scope is too big. Terrible UI. Gacha system does not sit well for me especially when it's an MMO and you are playing with other players who can just whale to be way stronger than you.
As i grow older im more into mmo as i have side money to spent on mmo although not much but it made me able to “compete”. Well i tend to think of it as hobby like people buying expensive bycycle or golf sticks

Eh, it's a fun timesink. For a gacha game, it's PvE side is really enjoyable. PvP is a mess, specially regarding latency. Character customization is A+, Exploration is A+. Story is horrible, almost cringe at times. Severe lack of polish on some UI elements and on everything regarding the story flow, lots of cutscenes where the audio suddenly cuts off, or the translation is off, or shit even repeats 2x times out of nowhere. It has potential, definitely, but they gotta fix the stuff that new players get to see early on (dunno how 2.0 stuff is on CN, hope it gets better).

only con i felt missing was the fact that p2w pulls are quite expensive. so even as a f2p player that occasionally want to spend some additional money from time to time u gotta think many times about it because u basiclly get not much for your money.

If you think this is expensive you havent tried any other gacha game. Genshin, to mention one, is almost double the price per pull and its way less generous

As someone who’s max rank atm, it is fun and worth to check out. The gacha system isn’t so bad compared to genshin and I’ve whaled 9-10k on GI and 100$ so far on ToF, but if you’re expecting genshin it’s not really like genshin that much; the online coop is a lot of fun and the “dungeons” is fun as you can have tanks and healers. Characters only matter because of their weapons, and their character is just for appearance and that’s all. There is time gated MSQ, but it’s everyday on reset when it happens. Anyways, any other questions if people want to know Just ask and give the game a try!
Oh! The pity in this game is 100x better than genshin because in ToF it doesn’t reset if you get your SSR before your 80 pity roll.
Also. Vehicles are unlocked from exploring or killing certain enemies and they have a low chance of dropping the material. Like 0.5%. So it’s just play the game and farm those enemies
Oh haha. To upgrade your weapons, you ascend it and it makes your weapons stronger and do different abilities. It’s like constellations in genshin, but it’s just for your weapons.
Purple quests are daily quests just like commissions in GI.

Simulacra is not a cosmetic - you can unlock up to 2 traits and they will work only when you use simulacra
my biggest cons of this game is that only tank can attacks with dodge and trigger phantasmia, the rest teammates are just defenceless
Genshin brotherhood
One thing about equalized pvp. It is equalized yes, but some weapons have better skills, abilities and passives than others. SSR weapon are still mandatory. Also it just so happens that the top tier weapon in PvP is Nemesis, which is also the hardest weapon to get for f2p. It is still p2w
Actually it's false that Nemesis is the hardest weapon to get. I got her guaranteed as a f2p with 120 pulls within 2 weeks of playing daily to level cap. Pretty much anyone can get her in the current patch with all the free rewards available, but this will probably change in the future.

I’m kinda interested to get into this game but I wanna wait for the hype to go down a bit and just lurk until there’s an event that looks really exciting. Right now the promotions for this game isn’t really triggering FOMO for me yet. It looks pretty chill but definitely grindy. Almost every streamer that tried this out on release day, showcased more gambling gameplay than anything else and played around with the character customization (that aspect isn’t really that exciting to me bcuz I usual just go with the randomized character if it takes me over an hour to create). But it doesn’t seem too bad. Everyone says there’s practically no story to this game and that makes it even less intriguing for me to get into but I’m taking it with a grain of salt since there’s so many players that abuse the skip option.
When the Tower of Fantasy 2.0 release date gets announced consider playing it maybe a few weeks before it drops. From what I've heard the story and immersion really kicks off at that point. The current story content on global feels like a rushed and unpolished teaser for what's to come. It's not an awful story by any means, there's just not much of it so you will definitely get bored if you start playing now.
Played 10 hours, felt like I spent 7hours in menu and opening shit. So fucking boring.
While the game isn't perfect it is solid and fun.
