    • @BioGear

      Surprisingly the side 'ant-abrasive material' is really good stuff, it's holding up well. Easily holds power banks but not designed for a water bottle, they're all fabric and padded inside, not rubber-lined so it wouldn't be a good idea to store a bottle in it (especially condensation)

    Just purchased this bag and I think the price was ridiculous. I currently rock a nomatic travel pack. I’m hoping this bag will not disappoint me because I do carry a Asus g15 , Wacom tablet, iPad , Nintendo switch and Sony XM4s everywhere. Plus a peak design tech pouch. It’s tough finding a bag that’s fits all this without squeezing the laptop compartment when I zip it up. I was leaning towards the Astro BP35 gaming backpack because it looks like I could hold multiple laptops but I can’t stand bags that scream gamer. Great review I’ve maybe watched it 20 times before pulling the trigger on my purchase.

      Honestly it can probably fit a normal plastic bottle, but it's not designed to do so. There isn't a dedicated spot for a water bottle, as in, there's no plastic lined pocket that's vented for spills and condensation. The side pocket can be unzipped and accommodate a bottle, just not designed to do so and could potentially fall out if left unzipped partially. Hope that helps!

    • @BioGear
      @BioGear  Год назад

      Thanks for the input, Ill try to cover that. Generally Tumi backpacks have an adequate amount of padding for the laptop, but no better than a 6-8 out of 10. The gaming brands have heavier padding thay I'd feel comfortable dropping a backpack a couple feet off the ground, but not tumi. Setting down and picking up is no concern. The reason I say all this is because I've come to see that as default, so I generally forget to comment on laptop padding unless it's better or worse than the norm. I've also been asked to wear backpacks more often for a size reference so I'll do that more from now on, too 👍

  • @UnapologeticGeek
    @UnapologeticGeek 10 месяцев назад

    i think having a laptop sleeve that's smaller than the overall backpack size will offer extra protection for the laptop by keeping it away from the edges of the bag ... this is no consolation of course if your laptop doesn't fit ... but that's why there is the 17" specific version of this bag as well, although it loses some of the pockets ... but by losing those pockets it should theoretically be able to go under airline seat ... everything is a trade-off i suppose.

  • @jasonluk5995
    @jasonluk5995 7 месяцев назад

    I really appreciated this video as I'm considering this bag and have read that for airline travel, it's too large to fit under the seat. While I'm sure it fits in the overhead bin for standard and larger aircrafts, I'm wondering if you have any experience fitting this in the overhead bin of a smaller plane that only has two rows of seats? These would be those smaller planes with short routes for example Seattle to Portland.

    • @BioGear
      @BioGear  7 месяцев назад +1

      I believe it fits under seats and in overhead bins just fine. Especially depth, it’s within 8”. The width from side pocket to side pocket is the biggest concern but I believe it should still fit fine in that regard. Ive travelled small jets with my Nomadic, but the esports is similar is many dimensions and shouldn’t be a concern. Give it a go if you like it :)

    Like you massive Tumi fan with many backpacks dating back to 2010, they all still look new. I bought two of these E-sports Pro Large backpacks because they are arguably one of the best bags for camera gear, even better, I find than bags designed BY camera gear companies! So wanted to make sure I had a spare as I don't think any bag like this will ever come out again. Mad I know, but I wanted to make sure I could use this bag long into the future. It is hard to know with the E-Sports line whether Tumi is continuing it as it is in stock, out of stock.....
    This bag has nothing to dislike if you're happy with its size. I take your point about the expanding back and not scratching a laptop, but I've used it for a hoodie or a scarf and hat when not wearing them and stuff like that, which I know won't harm my MacBook Pro. I wish Tumi would have a regular reflective option for Alpha Bravo, as the silver models they brought out with the reflective look a few years back are a huge favourite of mine.

      Good news I have been on several flights since I bought the bag both domestic and international (to Europe) and this bag is exactly the size of the space under the seat. The 2 things to consider are that the side pouches do touch on both sides so it may be slightly difficult to get it in the space but it will fit fairly easily. Also on some airlines the space does not go back far enough so may have to give up some leg room. All in all fits well.
      The only things I really don't like about the bag is that all the hardware for the straps are made of plastic instead of metal and that there is no chest strap. When you pay this much for a bag these things seem like they should be the default.

      They've had a lot of odd-ball bags come out last couple years. The esports are still some of my favorite bags though, so I'm glad they happened. Overall lately, the color choices suck and the prices got even steeper. Not positive for sure.

    Bruh, $500 backpack?
    It looks good. 2-300 dollars seems reasonable.
    500 just seems ridiculous.

      Tumi backpacks are more 'luxary' bags with top tier build quality and materials. I had to thoroughly inspect one before i became a fan. The nomatic camera bags are great for camera gear, and better at that than this Tumi. However as a laptop bag, tumi wins most the time I try to compare them. The price is steep for sure, so I recommend shopping around online for way better deals ;)

      @@BioGear with the really wide sides does it fit on carry on? Or under a seat?
      Or is it more of a road trip kinda bag?
