@@ManandaMooney I think the snow and cold wore me down. My home in Golden was bombed with snow every winter, and the cold of January was brutal. Although I come back and visit friends and family, I now live in the tropics where I don't have to think about winter clothes or shoveling snow.
I used to live on the western slope... Virginia is colorful in the fall too, but I miss the bright yellows of the Aspens. Thanks for bringing back good memories!
Same Jonna! ADS based. But I try to get up to aspen twice a year to go fly a turbo da40NG out of Aspen. I went last fall and it was NUTS. If you ever get the chance, go do it. I have an instructor up there I fly with every time. Learned so much.
@@b3_Media Yep! I made it there a few times this year. I'd recommend a lot of mountain flying experience before attempting it yourself. Especially with a laminar flow wing...
Thanks bbrydr331. I actually made it to Marble a couple times this year. I haven’t started editing my next video yet but have a lot of backlogged footage I need to start working through. I’m thinking the next video will be either be flying in/out of Marble or a review of my new prop. Both good options, what would you prefer?
Great video. My wife and I took a drive through Guanella Pass and then over to Aspen through Fairplay, Buena Vista, Leadville, then Independence Pass. Quite a drive and I kept looking up anytime I heard engines overhead. I have my PPL with 160 hours. I recently took a mountain flying course and am excited to do a flight to gain experience. Your previous video touched on a lot of what was in our in person course. Maybe we’ll cross paths over the passes, N7055R.
Thanks Blue Yonder 360. I’m happy to hear the mountain flying courses are echoing similar statements. You sound like you’re prepared to start exploring the mountains. Wait for the perfect day and work up to things incrementally until you build your skills and confidence.
Thanks Dean. It's a private backcountry airstrip in the town of Marble, CO. You won't find it on a sectional, but you can find it in the RAF Airfield Guide. Make sure you get permission to land and sign the appropriate waivers before visiting.
I'm not the first, won't be the last. The Mooney actually does surprizingly well on grass if you keep the weight off the nose - especially the short bodies. You'd be fine in your 'E. Check out "piperpainter" on RUclips if you haven't already.
Thanks Daniel. The really, really low shots were between 50-100 ft. The rest of the video was 500+ ft. I hope everyone can agree that these were "sparsely populated areas" per CFR 91.119
Beautiful video. I was born in Colorado and lived there for over 50 years. I miss it.
Thanks G Miller, glad you enjoyed the video. Why ever did you leave?

Thanks for watching!
Gotta love our beautiful aspens. I drive about an hour to Woodland Park just to see them.
They're stunning. Both from the ground and the sky.
I miss that! Beautiful!
Thanks Midlife Flight!

Was that landing at Marble?? That was gnarly. Such a beautiful video bro.

@@ManandaMooney haha yeah makes sense! I may never be ready for Marble. Lol
Great video. Hopefully by next year I’ll have finished my ppl to do the same. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks c w. Glad you liked it and happy to hear you're pursuing your PPL. I'd recommend a few more years of experience before flying like this...
Beautiful place for sure!
Thanks Zachary. It really is!
Best video yet!! Keep them coming. Been following for a while. 👍
Awesome, thank you StickFish TV!
Wow! Absolutely stunning video! Glad you used an external camera and not through the plexiglass!
Thank you very much George!
Nice vid, I was just up in Marble fishing that shoreline at 5:15 a few weeks ago. What a view!
No way! I might have flown right over you. The shot in this video was from 10/3 , but I was there 3-4 weeks prior to that as well.
Beautiful, are the yellow trees aspens?
The majority of them, yes. There were some cottonwoods and other trees mixed in there too.
Beautiful! Thanks for showing this to us!
Thanks Escape with Bob. Glad you enjoyed it!
Love it. Thanks for making these videos!
Thanks for letting me know. Glad you like them James!
Nice to see you finally checked the box for Marble! What’s next?
Can you tell any performance improvement with the new prop?

Great vid!! Love flying in the Rocky Mountains in the Fall - the scenery just don't get any better.
Couldn't agree more KWA!

Nice video of the fall colors. What airport did you land at (in mountains)?
Thanks Dean. It's a private backcountry airstrip in the town of Marble, CO. You won't find it on a sectional, but you can find it in the RAF Airfield Guide. Make sure you get permission to land and sign the appropriate waivers before visiting.
Yikes, a Mooney off pavement!

What landing strip is that at the end?
Thats a private airstrip in Marble, Colorado. Check out the RAF Airfield Guide for additional details.
Can we fig out a form flight? I have a bo based out of kapa. You do the flying I want to do.
For sure. Shoot me a note on IG or Gmail (address in the "about" section)
Awesome views! How close to the ridges do you fly over? (ft)

Can you spare us this awfull music ?
