got quoted $1200 to repair this, just did it myself and only spent $155 on parts. Video was a great help and works for 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokees. Thanks a ton for the video!!
Myles That’s awesome. That is some big savings there glad to be your helped out. Thank you for watching!
@@HowtoAutomotive anychance you have the part number to the seals/o-rings to the AC line side?
Did a radiator replacement this video helped immensely!!
Helped me a lot yesterday, changed the condenser on my 2012 Dodge Durango in about 3 hours
Just changed mine out this morning, using this video. Thank you! Took me two hours, and I don't consider myself any kind of mechanic. The only thing I did different was not detaching the AC lines by going through the bottom of the car. I was able to access the nut from above, by shifting the condenser to the left a little, and using a deep socket on a ratchet. This video saved me hundreds of dollars on a surprisingly easy job that I was nervous about doing myself! I appreciate it!
HitmanFO glad the video helped and saved you money. Thank You for the tips and thank you for watching !
What happens if I just remove the nut for the ac? Like would the ac need recharged???
Did you have to add transmission fluid
Great video! Helped me save a lot of money.
Only difference is I used a deep socket for the ax line. Didn’t need access from the bottom
Great Video! This will be very helpful when I replace my condenser next week. One question - does the transmission fluid leak out all over the place once you disconnect the lines from the condenser? Thanks you again for taking the time to post this excellent video!
best video ever...thanks to this...I was able to my ac condenser. ...thanks so much
scapeg20031 glad to help. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the vid brotha... just changed mine and your video helped me a million
Hector Boosted Glad to hear the video helped. Thank you for watching!
Great video... just did mine month ago but now I have a leak where transmission lines connect to it... do you what could've happened?
Does it leak any transmission fluid gonna do mine this weekend please help
thanks a lot just saved $700
Trapstar number1 glad to help. Thank you for watching and writing!
The mecanic charge me 800$ eo noo
This method works for 2011-2017 Durango & Grand Cherokee? All the other videos show full removal of front facia clip. Your way looks a lot easier.
How much oil and freon pounds use the a/c sistem??
Trans hoses are supposed to click when putting in the condenser?
Thanks for the video , can I isolate the condenser and apply external one for transmission fluid only?
Mosheer Ziadi that be a lot of custom work.
Any videos on changing Dodge Durango 2017 3.6???? Help!!!!
having a bad ac condenser on your truck affect your transmission?
Same steps for the hemi engine?
What o-rings or seals are required for the AC lines when you replace them? Do you have a part number to look up? Is it possible to reuse the existing ones?
Did you get the part number yo those o rings? I'm currently searching for that
@@67lnr80 if I’m not mistaken the rings came with the replacement cooler. 55038003AG was the part for the cooler
Would you know how to get fan plug detached. I'm depressing back tongue but not coming off. Thanks
kidbowjb these can be tough sometimes just got to push them together as hard as you can pushed tab in and pull back.
I just watched another video and they took off the entire front bumper. Is that not necessary? Mine is a 2013
I have the HEMI version for the same year. Would this method work?
Rob Mitchell I believe it’s the same.
How to Automotive any insight into what seal and o-ring part number is required as you mentioned in your video to reconnect the AC lines? Can I just reuse what is there?
How much does this job cost? My 12 Durango is doing the same thing.
I imagine this would be very similar to a dodge nitro as well? I'm pretty sure I cracked my cooler driving through snow on the lake. It's leaking now and has been I've just been checking levels and adding but I need to tackle this and would rather do it myself (with help from a buddy haha)
Cory Johnson sorry that happened to you. It going to be very similar to the nitro.
Anyone have the part number to the Seals that go to the AC lines to the condenser?
First video I've seen where the condenser can come out without having to drain the radiator. Hopefully it's enough room to do this on the hemi
thanks for the video it really helped I'm having that same problem right now took my Durango to the dealer and they are charging me $700-800 to fix the problem 😢😢
ky_jealous glad to help. Sucks that you're Durango is having trouble. Thank you for watching!
Great video but I would not recommend pulling the clips for the transmission lines. Find a way to press the lines in as your supposed too. I removed the clips as you did and then re-installed them after I put the lines back in. Well, I guess one of the lines wasn't in all the way and the line popped out. Fortunately I realized it early on because I was paranoid they were not in correctly and only lost a small amount of trans fluid. That could have been a disaster. I was finally able to just press the line back in but it was a real pain in the ass.
i did mine fine, drove it for about 400 miles and the top trans fluid line starting leaking all the fluid out. maybe it wasnt in all the way or the gasket is wrong? ill know in next couple of days.
So what happend?
Kool I got a 2017 It spring a leak somewhere
Why they would make the condenser and trans cooler in one ? Its the stupidest thing I’ve seen.
But all the dodges I work on lately are junk.
Good video , everything was on point.
I have a quick question if I may. I have to replace the radiator instead. Would I access it the same way. And could I get away with not taking to get freon released
kidbowjb yes you can take the radiator out without discharging the AC and this would video would definitely help you get the radiator out it's a little bit additional work.
How to Automotive thank you. If I do it your way should I leave the fan connected to old radiator when I lift it out. I have a hemi citadel
kidbowjb I would try it that way first it may save you some time by doing it like that.
I have to change my radiator too...what additional work is needed and do the AC lines move enough to get it out without disconnecting them?
@@mochs3869 Did you ever get the radiator out without evacuating the AC? Thanks
I followed all instructions successfully but my ac isnt getting cold it says it recharged but blowing hot still what should I do?
nealyville either it’s not charged up properly or something go unplug. I would back over all your work. If you have a scan tool you will see what’s missing in the Data and that’s where the problem will be.
How to Automotive it wasnt charged up all the way thanks 4 the video
nealyville easy fix sweet!! Thank you for watching!
The only thing I'm getting is a slight hissing noise. I check for leaks and couldn't find any.. so I dont know
nealyville check all fittings at the AC condenser
The power steering cooler is really just stabbed through the radiator fins like that???
Omg the top 6 inchs is the trans cooler...the rest is condenser lol every other fin...
