Great video Steve - being checked by 45699 really provided time to appreciate the powerful design of 70000 as it passes you at Salterwath. Looked a very confident run over the S&C too.
Linesider1 Thanks David, I had planned to do the East side at Salterwath but the exhaust would have drifted across. Nice to see the Brit up north again !
Another superb video Steve on a very busy day of steam. Fantastic shot of "Britannia" working hard up Shap A day to remember. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the 3 videos C&A
A great day for steam in the North West today and 'Britannia' captured superbly in your video in all three scenes. Great sounds from the loco. Very enjoyable to watch. Regards - Allan.
A very fine set of shots Steve. Britannia sounded superb over the s&c, shame she hadn't got the path to open up over Shap, still a very good video. Thanks for sharing.
Fine shots again, Steve. Liked the going away shot at, Langwathby, as it shows the gradient quite nicely. The, Brit, is certainly performing well at present, and could of easily took a few more coaches ! Good to catch up again. Regards, Liam
Good filming Steve, a great shame we didn't see her in full cry on Shap but perhaps the two trains so close together wasn't as good as we had hoped. Nice to see none the less
Great shots, Steve. A shame Britannia didn't get a chance of a good run on Shap but good work by the crew to avoid any red signals. Britannia is certainly in good form at the moment. Keith
hemerdonbank Thanks Keith , it was a cracking job from the crew to keep the Brit steady away up the 1 in 75 with double yellows etc against her . Steve
Great video Steve, shame that Britannia was, ahem, held up by the slow preceding train on Shap, but her performance over the S & C looks to have made up for that. Belting sound & vision as usual Steve. Many thanks for sharing. Cheers, Alan
To me, two steam trains running one after another like that basically just by timetabling coincidence, trumps any fast runs! Only in the UK!!! 70000 sounds in brilliant mechanical condition. Great shots Steve... ……Hᴜɢʜ….ツ
HughFromAlice Thanks Hugh , it was a very rare sight that was for sure with two visible trains in shot . I agree the Brit looks and sounds fantastic. Steve
OK Galatea, struggled up Shap, but all credit has to be given to Britannia's crew who kept her going a steady beat against (probably double yellow signals) ensuring a full climb with out stalling or stop needing a posiible standing start! Great stuff - grood to watch
Henry Taysom Thanks Henry , I agree it was a superb performance from crew and engine as it must have had single and double yellows against her plus I believe it was on red at Scout Green until the last second .
Having watched Galatea it is obvious Britannia had little chance of a run at Shap. However, I did detect some acceleration at the same point as Galatea was losing speed. The sound from Britannia filled me with more confidence than that from Galatea. These days the Pendelinos shoot over the banks whilst steam is just getting out of the starting blocks.
Keith Alexander Thanks Keith , the Brit was unlucky that the timings had the slow Jub in front I must admit . My late father used to tell me that a regular sight was three trains on the bank being visible from his box at Scout Green

Fabuloso - great sound and it was a great day for us after the last month's problems. Cheers John
snowjohnb Thanks John , shame the Brit did not get a good run at the bank but still she looked good . Nice to see you again yesterday .
Cracking shots Steve with the Brit sounding how she should on the S&C..
Cheers Phil.
***** Thanks Phil , the Brit does look and sound fantastic I must admit just a shame we don't see more of her . Steve
Another superb video Steve on a very busy day of steam. Fantastic shot of "Britannia" working hard up Shap A day to remember. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the 3 videos C&A
EMuksteam Thanks C&A , I was tired late last night after a long but very fruitful day for steam tours . Steve
Great series of shots Steve with the Brit sounding superb and well in control of her load at all speeds and gradients. Chris
khankadet Thanks Chris, I agree the Brit made the fells look easy I must admit .
A great day for steam in the North West today and 'Britannia' captured superbly in your video in all three scenes. Great sounds from the loco. Very enjoyable to watch. Regards - Allan.
allan5919 Thanks Allan , a wobble or two on Shap but slow moving locos are harder to pan I find. Steve
Superb performance from the 'Brit' Steve, and great coverage as always....Bob
Robert Masterman Thanks Bob , was not sure about the pan as it looked a bit jerky but a great day with three steam tours captured . Steve
Excellent footage as ever Steve, with a superb lesson from the Brits crew in keeping her going up Shap
Mike
rab4472 Thanks Mike , I agree that was some job to keep her steady under yellows and possible reds . Steve
Great footage of 'Britannia' Steve. Looks and sounds awesome in this climb...Cheers...Steve.~
***** Thanks Steve , it's a fine looking engine and sounds fantastic . Steve
A very fine set of shots Steve. Britannia sounded superb over the s&c, shame she hadn't got the path to open up over Shap, still a very good video. Thanks for sharing.
Steaming Around The Midlands Thanks Sam , not the location I had planned as I was going to use the east side .
Steve, must be a favoured spot for videos, between you and Austin we get the best of video choices, thanks for sharing
6109river Thanks John , we are spoiled for choices in the Cumbrian Fells I must admit . Steve
Those Britannia locos are beautiful, sound awesome, great video, would really like to see more of these locos working.
madpetrolhead Thanks Ken , I must admit I do like the Brit loco class as they sound fantastic. Steve
Hi Steve, splendid footage, well done...Dave
***** Thanks Dave , just a shame the Brit did not get a decent run up Shap but still nice to see her again up North . Steve
Hi Steve , thanks for reply...Dave

Marsh Steam Videos™ Thanks Liam , I do like Britannia I must admit and it is not up North enough . Great to catch up I agree mate . Steve
Spectacular. What a fine machine!
Ken Bird Thanks Ken , just a shame 70000 did not get a decent run on Shap but still great to see her up North again . Steve
Wow...First class captures for sure.
SMILEVIDEOTRAINS Thanks Keith , much appreciated . Regards Steve
Good filming Steve, a great shame we didn't see her in full cry on Shap but perhaps the two trains so close together wasn't as good as we had hoped. Nice to see none the less
acw71000 Thanks Austin , it was a shame the jubilee was not put inside at Grayrigg so as 70000 could have romped up the hill . Steve
Great shots, Steve. A shame Britannia didn't get a chance of a good run on Shap but good work by the crew to avoid any red signals. Britannia is certainly in good form at the moment. Keith

Alan Lucraft Thanks Alan , the Brit looked super and just a shame the timings made the Jubilee keep 70000 from a good charge up the bank . Steve

Such great locations up north :)
Thanks for the very kind comment . Sorry for the late reply regards Steve

Shame she didn't get a proper run at Shap and well done for getting all 3 tours today!
Steam in the North West Thank you for the kind comments, it was a long day but well worth it . Steve

A real shame she didnt get a run at the bank. However it was well captured. Good job.
Anthony Cooper Thanks Anthony , odd the Jubilee was not looped at Grayrigg I thought .
