Do Pitch Black - It’s All Real, Rass Kass - Goldyn Chyld and any of the Afu-Ra joints!
This is my shiiiiiiiit. Doesn’t get as much love as it should. The beat. The cuts. 👏
So so underated.
MAN, I been waiting for Preem to speak anything about that Buckshot Lefonque project! Shout out to Brandford
Patiently waiting for Devils Pie. I know it’ll be worth the wait 🔥
🎧🔥
The best part is this shit could go on forever with all his masterpieces RIP guru
This is STILL in my rotation! I LOVE how in the last 45 seconds of the record, Preem removes the different layers, one by one. That shit was DOPE!!!!
We need you to do an episode on Gang Starr's "Discipline". That was an underrated song
Apathy "stop what ya doin" needs to be an episode as well as "you" by Evidence
Yooo premier you gotta do a so wassup on love sick 💯💯💯🚫🧢
Yoooooo!!!! I was just talking last week about when we’d get an episode on Buckshot LeFonque!!!
Shout out to Preem for doing all this So Wassup? deep dives, You're like an internet historian giving us all a small look into the inner workings of hip hop culture. We're so blessed to have you!

Damn. Can't believe there's been 45 episodes of this already! Don't stop until you've gone through the history of every single cut Preem! Lol
Who else still got this Vinyl🔥🔥✋🏾
That beat playing during Preem’s narration, it’s mesmerizing. Anybody got info on it?
This was such a trendsetting album/sound in a really great era of hip hop. Awesome episodes. Always can't wait for the next.
Dope record! Love the Cannonball Adderly backstory! Never knew the alias. Salute to Bradford Marsalis! Salute Preemo!
This might actually my favourite episode so far. It borders on a history lesson, so dope.
Premo get that eye checked out fam.
I was looking all over the comments for someone to bring that up, glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that. His right eye was really struggling to keep up with his left at some points. Shit was a little discomforting, really hope it's nothing and Preemo's all good but ya know better safe than sorry.
Dj Premier should make a miniseries about Hip-Hop history and it is just him talking. Man he is an encyclopedia when it comes to Hip-Hop. He should record all his knowledge in different media... Bravo!
TNT
Thanks Premo 💪🏽 👍
2:29 - That's an awesome album. Branford put his stamp all over it.
Crazy!! I just pulled this album out of my crates a few days ago and took it to my buddies house to play. It's been some years but damn!! And then this🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️💯
One of my most beloved albums of all time! I've been hoping to see Preemo talk about this project for a long time. "The scratch opera"!
It’s a shame labels are transitioning jazz music out of peoples consciousness. It has been such an integral part of our culture and upbringing, and is too important for it to just die out
DJ PREMIER GANGSTARR 🎶🎼🎙️🎷🎺🎹🥁👍👍👍👍👍
Another Classic episode of So Wassup and a Classic Preemo collaboration with Branford. It’s the backstory that makes these episodes so great. Especially finding out Cannonball Adderley was the original Buckshot LeFonque. I look forward to all of these episodes Salute Preemo
Saw Buckshot LeFonque live many years ago. Friend took me for my birthday. Best birthday gift ever. They totally blew my mind. Completely redefined how I thought about music. I had no idea Preemo was involved.
Please do your remix of music evolution one of the illest bangers ever 🙏🙏
I’ve been waiting on this on! So glad you finally got around to this. I’m old enough to remember all the Denny’s controversy, and I remember the Spike-directed video! I even remember when The Source did a write-up on the song. Dopeness!!
Yo, also: I used to live in Clinton Hill! I was on St. James Place, literally a block over from your old spot and down the street from Biggie’s old crib! I miss Brooklyn! 🙌🏾
We need that Screwball too, Premier
I really want to know the story behind "rock stars" by non phixion or other joints that you produced for ill bill, these are some of my favorite beats of yours. Thank you for your work and happy holidays!
When I saw the thumbnail I thought for sure this was gonna be about the Music Evolution Remix, but I'm still down for this!
I remember dat album. Jazzed up. Jazz had that serious vibe we all need tooo. Peace One-Love
that "Breakfast at Denny's" jawnt goes hard bruh...so hard in fact, eye play it when om doing God's work, driving around playing music loud and only the most hardest of the hardcore sh!t gets played when om on that type of math...Peace puhpuhpuhpuhpuh Premier!
I can't stress this enough I give major props to you Premier and many others with the ways you all created CLASSICS that are timeless without question!!!
'SOMESHIT' is such a jam. Can't wait
I found this cd 2 years ago at a vinyl record store, talk about money well spent :)
Buckshot LeFonque is trully a one love.
P.E.’s Fight the Power & Sting’s If You Love Someone Set Them Free recordings will never be the same now that you have made me aware to the fact that it has been Branford Marsalis all along. Thank you for being so thorough with what I consider modern day liner notes; I.e. oral tradition. Definitely listening and looking forward to that other Buckshot Lefonque composition Some Shh. Salute to Branford for evoking the creative genius continuum by sending a shout out to Cannonball Adderley as a way to not be fenced in by genre constraints.
Bro!!!! I remember when I bought this joint; I used to BUMP this whole “tape”!!! You really took me back with this, for real!!!
I bought this album when it came out, it's a classic.
LOVE this tune - the sax hook and cuts are classic ! Plus this tune hasn’t aged a day still fresh to death
DJ PREMIER NOT SURE IF YOU EVER READ THE COMMENTS BUT THANKS FOR PUTTING OUT DOPE MUSIC THAT I'VE BEEN PAINTING GRAFFITI TO SINCE WAY BACK...ME AND THE HOMIE ZONE WST STILL BUMP GANGSTARR WHEN WE PAINT 👊💯
That track is hella f*ckin hard yo. I couldn't stop listening to it
I remember that....super FIRE and reflective of the time....masterful
👏🏾
Dope album Wonders & Signs is on repeat these days
Sooo much wisdom involved in every song, every artist, every work with Premier! Can't wait for new episodes in 2023 and beyond!!
Always loved this track and the video. The scratchin is absolutely magical. Primo at his best.🔥
Kind of surprised he didn’t mention the backstory of how the secret service agents were denied service at Dennys, hence the title of the track.🤔
Regardless, I’m hyped that this epic joint finally made the list for so wassup.
Mad props to Premier and Branford for blessing us with this funky ass gem.🔥🎷🔥
Salute the floppy Y’all. Peace.💾💾💾💾💾💾
Very cool picture at 5:35 of Preem and Guru's son. I like the composition of it with Preemo out of focus in the foreground. It looks cool.
THE MARSALIS FAMILY IS ICONIC.. They're such a big deal that I even personally know 2 People that Branford and Winton worked with and I ain't knowbody. That's how far their reach is.
Let's get it in!!!
Still 🔥💯💪🏿....lot of drinks and conversations to this song.
Peace Premo
Make knowledge born about MANIFEST and KNOWLEDGE, that beat for KNOWLEDGE is so hard. How GURU flow on that beat. When I listen to your beats, it amazes me when I listen to every sound separately, and everything sound fits perfectly, it's like a jigsaw puzzle when you make your beats, and then when it's done,it's a master peace. Yall really have to listen to the beats in pieces and it's like the greatest understanding of the completion of the track.
We need a so wassup episode on "Just To Get A Rep" sometime next month in January 2023.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Legendary status 🫡
UBB vol 2
Keep up the good work
I used to be on train, listening to this tap 🗽 🎧
You probably invented acid jazz with this album.
This man's tentacles are everywhere
Another classic! The showbiz remix was pretty iLL to.
Man! I'm feeling that background track.
Sauté to you preemo !! Love hearing these stories of history !! Hope they don’t end anytime soon , legend !
I was today years old when I came to know Sting was a member of Police. Never expected this information from a hip hop legend. 😱
Wow
Hip Hop Producers KNOW their music, not surprising at all.The Emcee are the ones that are naive when it comes to other Genres
BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE LEGEND BRANFORD MARSALIS!!!!
I’m lucky to grow up in the era I grew up in. We were exposed to so many different genres of music including JAZZ.
Now JAZZ is no where to be found in the mainstream of American music which is a travesty. JAZZ samples were a huge part of hip hop music.
Thanks for these Preme! and the Team! 🫡
Needed more info on that great track/album! Such a classic
Speaking of Termanology, you should do an episode on how you made "Watch How It Go Down"!
Amazing episode. Having the rewind history is so dope!
mannnnnn... i have this tape but it popped recently. love this whole album.
What the Fuck is up, Denny’s
Ma Man BISE ONE played that song for me. I was hooked.
just...pure Beauty ...great great track
This is a great documentary! Thanks for this!
Great one!
The way the song ended is still one of my favorite endings of all time. It's truly a joint masterpiece.
LOVIN' THE SWEATSHIRT PREEM!!!!!
Thanks Primo, you are the realest
I always wanted to know more about Branford Marsalis and the Gangstarr relationship. I've heard about a lot of people in Brooklyn bigging him up, such a great story and history.
We need a Group Home ‘Baby Par’ episode (intro included)
Man I love your vibe and the way you tell these stories. Absolutely incredible to hear such a legend.
Thanks you so much! Didn’t know this project... that’s a sweet Christmas gift for my ears. Keep those wassup episode comin. We can’t get enough...
I can't get enough of this! I would be super interested to know if you have the floppy of Protectors of 1492. I bet there's a story behind that track, i mean you got Warren G to actually feature on another artists song.
A great musician and a great tune. Thx Preem 👍
Love this album!!
Dope stuff
Premier is king 💪🏻👈🏻
IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW! I was bumpin buckshot lefonque in the mid-90's - & I'm still the shit
Best episode yet
You will be one hella of college professor.
3/29/1990 Branford sat in with the Grateful Dead & it was historic. RUclips 3/29/90 'Eyes of The World' & you'll hear pure magic coming from Garcia & Branford.
There just aren’t enough jazz albums with the soloist(s)/bandleader(s) goin’ off exclusively on hip-hop beats! Peace.
