    Tip : Make a small rope segment and use an array modifier before the curve modifier. This way you can easily adjust rope length.
    Tip : To paste (or change) multiple values, select all the objects you want to add the value to, change the value of one item and hold LEFT-ALT when pressing ENTER to set the value. This way the value will be set to all selected objects. This works for almost any value in Blender (so also shaders, modifiers, etc).
    Alternatively, you can select all object with the object you want to copy the data from as the last one and press CTRL-L to pop up the Link/Transfer Data menu.

      Thank you so much 💝 You know what, I am not satisfied with this tutorial. Unless we integrate cloth physics with the rigid bodies (which is not yet possible in Blender), making an actual rope is next to impossible. The only way to do that would be to add an extremely high number of bones and an armature to the rope. It was very costly, so we had to trade-off for this tutorial, but we are all ears to get a better suggestion!

      @@5MinutesBlender : Cloth is not the way, nor is a rig. Cloth is meant to be used with planes. This curve modifier way is by far the best way to simulate rope functionality.
      Edit : A better way might be to use Geometry nodes but I'm still learning so I can't give you advice on that. There are some excellent tutorials out there that handle GeoNodes and Curves, though.

      It will work for the time being and solve the purpose with some limitations. 80% of questions are solved by this. So, it is fine and so easy and not time taking @@5MinutesBlender

    wo, amazing tutorial. efficient, easy to understand and a little bit hard to following due to my limited knowledge of blender. but definitely a wonderful lesson after a few pause and mimic! I will subscribe right away.

      If pulley rotation is ignored as is supposed the rope is slipping over the pulley then it can be easily done with the help of the location constraint of the vertex group at the end of the rope. Isn't? I tried and its working☺@@5MinutesBlender

      @@5MinutesBlenderexactly, common in mechanical advantage systems. I did this but with so many drivers absolute values that it is not optimal, if I want to change one value everything breaks.

      @@ISURSouLYes, I guess that will be a complex driver setup, I never studied a loose pulley system.

    Export fbx?

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  7 месяцев назад

      Not really sure. Blender's support for import/export is very limited due to cross-platform incompatibility. This is specially true for modifiers, materials, drivers etc. So in this case we may not be so lucky to export the animation as it is.

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  9 месяцев назад +2

      @@SwethaRani697 Add a cylinder. Reduce its height. Add another cylinder and reduce its height even more and make it slightly larger in diameter. This will be a plate. Add two such plates to the two ends of the first cylinder. Your pulley is ready. Now you can add more things to make it look better, like we have added two sticks perpendicularly on the plates. We also added some wooden textures to make it look realistic.
