- Introducing the Fender Signature Flea Bass.
Modeled after Flea's rare '61 Shell Pink Jazz Bass, the Flea Bass features a beautiful road-worn finish, American Vintage '64 pickups and a custom neck plate that is based on a drawing from the influential bassist.
Of course, the perfect person to officially welcome this Jazz Bass into the world is Flea himself, as this video goes inside his home and we learn more about what inspired him as an artist.

I've always felt the way Flea describes himself at the beginning of this video but hearing him say "before I always felt like I was always reaching trying to be something cool I'd never be then all of a sudden then I felt like I was cool just fucking being me" is really motivational to me. Whenever I feel insecure or alone or whatever I watch this video because that just speaks to my soul and makes me feel so much better.

Flea's love of music is infectious. You can tell music just flows through him and that he'd be doing exactly the same thing whether he was in such a massive band or not. Huge respect!

watching the documentary on how John went through the heroine addiction, and now seeing them, especially flea, they went from being grungy, messed up, scary, and self destructive kids, to grown adults with good lives and a true love and joy for life, it's amazing

@@janfarkas8953 Fender is kind of controlling when it comes to their signature artists these days. They didn't want John Mayer to use other amps unless he put a cardboard cutout of fender amps on top of them at live performances. That's why he uses PRS now. I'm sure they've asked John is he wants a signature model, but I don't think he's really into that sort of thing ya know?
Yes, Flea had a Modulus signature for many years with a sweet graphite neck and he recently repped his own brand of Fleabass, but I'm happy to see him get a Fender signature model and while not his own brain-child per say, it's his favorite bass and one you can see him rocking with a lot over the past 10-20 years. It's definitely a rare type of bass all-around, so people should be happy they have another cool option to buy in shell pink (one of Fender's greatest colors) with the stacked tone/volume knobs with chrome tops. SO cool!
Good point , but I still would prefer the modulus , just a way more awesome bass . I have a squier jazz that sounds identical to this
