    1) Treat others how you wish to be treated yourself.
    2) Always do your best but embrace the learning that failure can provide.
    3) Be grateful for what you have and make time to give back.

Five years ago I was 66 yo and acquired a GSD puppy, to force me to walk. And each day since then, we have walked once or twice a day for a mile or two. This is my "reset" time. I have found it very rewarding to record my thoughts on my cell phone on the way. Often on the way back, I listen to the recording. This acts as a personal diary. I review my goals and problems and emotions about everything. These are things that would bore, or maybe even shock, anyone else, but working things out has helped my mental health enormously.

So true on life’s journey I find true friends are extremely rare , I can count them on one hand and I don’t need all my fingers !
And passion or to be passionate about something finding this is a journey x

    1. Be respectful to others irrespective of how they treat you.
    2. Everyday go for a walk which is not a journey to work or shopping.
    3. Make time for family and friends

HI Ash, you have literally helped me from head to toe over the last year. I am a lot poorer but happier after taking your advice on personal dress/care. I have bought some good hats, gone back to wet shaving and have a fine selection of Loake shoes/boots which are all mirror shined. Wishing you and your a very happy Christmas and good New Year.

At 9 minutes you said something quite true, but you should learn that it mimics almost perfectly the 1970s Schlitz beer ads. "You only go around once in life, so reach out a grab all the gusto you can." I think if you look these commercials up on RUclips, you'll see how close you are to that message.
The thought is true, of course, and I only point this out so that you can either rephrase or embrace the commercials (whichever helps you spread the message). What I suggest you avoid is being compared to slogans from beer commercials.
*Also. Your suggestion to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable was sound advice. Sound and well suggested. Your example was excellent. Opening yourself to ideas that are new to you is a fantastic way to spur personal growth. Good advice.

The first and second rules map nicely onto Jordan Peterson's second rule, from "12 Rules for Life", "treat yourself like someone you're responsible for helping." If you approach your life with the critical eye that you would for a beloved child, sibling, or cherished friend, there is a tendency towards better facilitating the actualizing of your maximum potential. You have to have a sufficient love and respect for yourself to demand that you do what you must to achieve what you are capable of.

    1. Never neglect service for others, be it as simple as civility or as much as driving a friend to the airport or helping clean up a stranger's mess, when it can reasonably be provided.
    2. When doing something, be it speaking, dressing, working, writing, eating, dancing, driving, or socializing, do it properly as best as you can.
    3. One is never complete. There's always more literature to have read, more talents to be had, more philosophy to know, more games to be good at, better social skills to be gained, a better wardrobe to be had, and so on. That part of one's brain that insists on their personhood being insufficient is best listened to! One's personhood should never be complete.

A very wise advice Ash, thanks once again for a special video. I have been into Scandinavian literature for the last couple of years and I came across Jante Love which is a set of 10 rules introduced by the author Aksel Sandemose basically variations of a theme: Ikke tro at du er noe, don't think you are special. Very interesting to see that these rules seems still important in Scandinavian countries. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

    1. Never bet on another man’s trick.
    2. It is a mortal sin to allow a fool to keep his money.
    3. In God we trust, all others pay cash.
He was quite a character. Died of kidney failure at age 46.

    1) find your purpose in life and everyday live into that purpose as much as you can. 2) Don't just appreciate others but let them know it and support them regardless of whether or not they support you. 3) Take tasks one step at a time or you will easily be overwhelmed.
