52Toys Infinitybox IB-03 Baihu Is The Magical Big Cat Of Your Dreams! Reviewed and Rated

- Roaring out of the gate in 2024 is IB-03 Baihu: The Tiger of the West in Chinese mythology. This is my first review for the year as well as my first ever Infinitybox review.
A few weeks ago, I surveyed my subscribers to find out what you’d like me to review, and Baihu was by far the top pick. Thank you to everyone who gave me feedback - as you’ll see, this figure does not disappoint! It’s another phenomenal design by Tsuboshima Yuki, who previously created the Chinese dragon and Kirin figures (both of the retired 52Toys Megabox line.)
Baihu also happens to be the first wide release Beastbox/Megabox/Infinitybox figure that comes with the all-new Box Charger… I definitely had some strong opinions on this one.
Another question that has come up frequently in 52Toys collector circles is, whether we’d see an upgrade to the original, often-maligned big cat mold. Baihu is a resounding answer to that call.

The designer being on the box is really cool. All toy companies should allow this.
Definitely. 52Toys obviously takes pride in their products, and it’s cool that they credit their designers! 😎
Now I WISH 52toys could make it to were you either get the old box or the new box so then they would no which one has more sales
I like that idea! At the very least they didn't use this as an excuse to raise prices (again!), but still -- I think it's a fair bet that longtime collectors would _much_ rather have the original style, given the choice. I know I would.

Heck yes I am. 😎 With the slight exception that I might slip in an unboxing video (these full reviews take a lot of time to shoot and edit), but Baihu and the dragonfly were for sure the top 2 picks of that survey. I appreciate your feedback, and will get that review out as soon as I can!

Man, while it does look great, I’ve been holding off on most of 52toy’s offerings. Heck I even cancelled my order on Mack knife from captain commando that they did. I do know for a fact I’m looking forward to all the newer stuff they do this year. Those race car boxes look so sleek it’s ridiculous, then that robot mode has that fun kinda IGPX vibe
Yeah, there is definitely a lot of cool stuff coming up. I was uncertain whether they’d continue AMTS (especially since they covered all the terrains) but was pleasantly surprised by the racing set. I didn’t make the IGPX connection; the prototypes reminded me of Redline though! 😎🏁
i just ordered today, the new golden dragon, the snarlieho(the green and white repait hog), "framer" and thunderhoof, it was not cheap 😂 im hoping that, by the time my tax refund comes, i can get the "botcon set" "dinoforce"(the one with the repaint of the combiner dogs), but theres only like 50 left, so i bet itll be sold out by then
Sweet! I’ve got a Framer and Gold Dragon on order, myself. Yeah, if you’re interested in the Dinoforce set it’s probably one to get sooner than later, but I don’t think you need to worry about it running out of stock for a while.
Are you gonna do a review on the Azure Dragon? I'm thinking of starting my Beastbox collection with Baihu and the dragon.
I don’t have an Azure Dragon, but I’ve got one of those “year of the dragon” gold versions on preorder. Will probably do a YOTD review, eventually. 🐉
Which one of the molds so far do you like the most overall? I want to get another beastbox but not sure which one is best. I have the gorilla and the beetle one currently.
That's a tough question to answer - there really are a lot of good ones. I'd say the parrot or crab molds are very good, and the owl is definitely a fan favorite. You can't go wrong with any of the insects, either -- they're all excellent. I hope that helps!

Is the quality control of the toy is good? First time thinking gonna buy this
Its build quality is superb. I didn’t really show it off in this review but the paint applications are excellent; really is something you have to see in person to appreciate. If you’re looking for a high quality figure, Baihu _ will not_ disappoint.

i dont think it would be a good idea to have the box charges connected infront of eachother, because then it would become REALLY hard to get beastboxes out(like imagine having like a 4 layered wall, and the one you wanna get to, is on the first layer), HOWEVER maybe instead, they could of made it so they can connect back to back, so it would be a 2 layered wall, and still able to acess either one from either side, since its not blocking eachother
There really isn't an easy fix with how they are stored. In your scenario you'd need an "island" you could walk around on both sides, but I'm not sure that'd work for very many people. I only suggest male/male port adapters as a way that might add stability, _IF_ you were to stack one set of boxes in front of the another.
My two cents... don't store these in a Detolf. 😂 I'm out of space in mine, and am literally stacking a 2nd wall in front of the first. I probably need to build a custom shelf or something... definitely an interesting topic of discussion!
@@XMattingly ya i got an entire shelf dedicated to beastboxes/megaboxes, theres like 14 shelfs on it, and im only using 4 shelfs so far, 1 shelf is for my "limited" edition beastboxes, another shelf is for all my megaboxes, and then the other 2 are just all my other beastboxes, i hope to some day, have so many, that i fill every shelf, so i can get another book shelf and start over 😂 but i doubt thatll ever happen because i already have alot of beastboxes and megaboxes, like 115 so far total, that i just dont think 52toys will ever release enough

ya mine didnt come with it either, none of my newer figures came with one, like the bat and dragon fly, i think they just straight up stopped including the PVCs(which makes me sad)
@@unknownunknown-cd7rx Appreciate the confirmation - yeah, my Onitopte didn't come with one either. Those inserts can't cost more than a penny or two to produce (if even that)... weird that they just stopped including them. 😐
@@XMattingly it would be neat if they made like a "pack" of them like $5 for 100 PVC cards or something, so people who like using them, can buy them
@@unknownunknown-cd7rx Yeah, that would be good. Even beyond that, I wish 52Toys offered replacement parts; the bird stand (original 2mm version) comes to mind.
I'm pretty sure Infinity Box is different than Beast Box, so I don't believe they're rebranding
It's essentially an offshoot of the main 'box line. Infinitybox replaced the Megabox line, which is mostly licensed characters, mythological creatures, their AMTS vehicle series among other things.
@@XMattingly That's what I meant by different, meaning it's a subline of beastbox. But I didn't realize it had replaced megabox though, that's interesting
@@wiser33 Right on. When I first heard about "Infinitybox" I assumed it would be another offshoot -- maybe exclusive to mythical creatures, holiday/event figures, etc. I was pretty surprised to find out it replaced the entire Megabox line, to be honest.
@@XMattingly I guess that's why it's infinity, has the more complex beasts, and the vehicles
