@@XMattingly dont worry about how long it takes, just enjoy the journey to it, who knwos what 52toys will come up with in the future! with how complex some of the figures are getting, it gets me excited to see what they come up with next! i also heard that they opened an officla 52toys store in the US but sadly its reallky far away so my hope is that sometime in the future they will open more stores in the US, i would LOVE to go to a 52toys store

Awesome! I'm glad this one wasn't a dud for you, and I agree -- I think Hasbro would've ruined it with weird materials, cheap (or no) paint, and hollowed out parts. In a lot of ways, as a toymaker 52Toys is a tough act to follow and I think Downspiral is a great example of that.

I don't know where you're at, but we do have wild boars in the US, mostly in the midwest and south. I get that; there are certain Beastboxes that may very well never wind up in my collection. 🙂

@@XMattingly I'm from the UK. Technical we do got Boar but they are rare in certain places in the first. That being said, I am nowhere near those forest.

I like that idea! At the very least they didn't use this as an excuse to raise prices (again!), but still -- I think it's a fair bet that longtime collectors would _much_ rather have the original style, given the choice. I know I would.

Definitely - and this one is such a frickin' fantastic mold. I didn't pick up the pink one (Rhapsody?), but did get the Airforce set. You can't go wrong with any of these!

That could be pretty cool! And they’re overdue to do something with this mold, anyway. If my vote counts, I’m hoping they retool these as a group of house cats. 🐈🐈‍⬛

I actually found it separate on a Japanese site over the holidays (Hobby Link, I think?), but you can still get it off of 52Toys’ Aliexpress store (although you have to buy the figure with it). But if you want a Helldiver with _dramatically_ improved build quality (52Toys just recently reengineered and rereleased a few Dio types), that’s the one I’d recommend considering.

You are (mostly) correct, and I probably should’ve researched this to add to this video while it was in post production. So I looked into it a little further, and yes - scarab family, but more specifically they’re all from the subfamily rhinoceros beetles. So yep (at least as far as I can tell): 00 = Atlas beetle, 01 is a Japanese rhinoceros, and 02 = Hercules beetle. There are some good pictures of all of these on Wikipedia. @@XMattingly Yes, I was a bit confused as to whether or not all of these Beetles are also under the Subfamily of Rhinoceros Beetle. However, I think you may have reversed 01 and 02 in your naming them as the Hercules Beetle has horns that look much like a clamp.

Yeah, 52Toys went through a phase for about a year where a lot of regular release figures (mainly repaints) were getting custom Box Chargers. I do like this one.

That sucks - are you talking about the chrome, or other paint? 🫤 I haven’t handled mine too much, but that sounds like a problem to look out for.

Thanks - I know people dump on gold and transparent plastic, but I think chrome may actually be worse. Which might be why 52Toys really doesn’t make very many figures with it. 🤷‍♂️

Totally agree! Wish I’d had Old One at the time I made this video to compare to; they really stepped up the build quality of the limbs for Deep Purple.

Yeah, this is an odd one. I happened to find this specific one with the gold glyph on BBTS a few years ago, and haven’t found it anywhere else since. So I guess it qualifies as a rare release?

52Toys actually does have a store on Amazon, though they don’t seem to have as much in stock as their Aliexpress store. There are a handful of ways you can find these: Aliexpress, Amazon, JoyToyWorld, Big Bad Toystore and even eBay are several places I’ve bought from.

@@jk-fe7hb If you watch carefully, I show you how to do it in this video; it’s not too hard. You just need the exposed part of the thigh joint facing up, with the legs rotated sideways and the back of the knees tucked against the front of the body.

I know a lot of people favor the newer, more sophisticated figures but I really like a lot of the older styles with more simplified geometric shapes - and Darknet is absolutely one of my favorites. In my opinion you should definitely get it! Cool that 52Toys has more recently started rereleasing some of these older figures so we have better options than eBay scalpers. ✌️😎

Very much so. Oddly enough, Diaclones weren't really on my radar until I started picking up AMTS vehicles. The earlier ones especially have pretty detailed cockpits and went looking for tiny action figures to fit in there. Dianauts fit perfectly!

The Golden Dragon is available almost everywhere: Aliexpress, Big Bad Toystore, JoyToyWorld, etc. Dragon Dio, I'm not so sure about... I think that one was a very limited release, and I haven't seen it recently.

I’m _very_ tempted to get both; already have a Landbreaker but it’s such a great set and the Devastator color scheme is hard to pass up. There is also some question on whether the Helldiver rerelease is made off the reengineered Dio mold (like the Dragon Dio in this video). I already have a Helldiver but if it is, I’m definitely going to get it. And hey, it’s awesome that they’re making it available again for anyone who missed out, so you can get one at a reasonable price straight from the manufacturer instead of paying a premium to scalpers! Thanks! “Overpowered” hadn’t crossed my mind, but it certainly seems to be the case with that little dude. I’m generally a little skeptical about heavily painted action figures, but I have to tell you - this dragon’s paint job looks _amazing._ I don’t think 52Toys has done anything like it, before. I do actually have the book, but didn’t get a Tiger Dio with it. I recommend this Dragon Dio, if you don’t have it - no joke, its engineering really is next level. Also, word has it that Dio (re)releases after this one will be using the new mold, so that’s definitely something to look out for! ✌️
