I wanted to out do my old but most popular video on Sonamy. So here's a more in depth analysis of Sonic and Amy's relatonship, especially when so people say they have no chemistry.

It's hard for me to put into words why I always adored Sonic/Amy's dynamic, even as a kid. Maybe it was because even as a kid, Amy's crush on Sonic was so obvious (yet that was one thing I enjoyed about her character; where in most media Character A kept their feelings secretive from Character B, Amy was just open and honest with her feelings, which made it feel genuine and intriguing). Maybe that's the word I'm looking for, "Intriguing". There was just something interesting about Sonic and Amy's relationship that I couldn't help but love and root for. While you have Amy who at almost every opportunity would express her feelings towards Sonic, you have the latter while on the surface seems uninterested, you would really have to speculate his feelings towards Amy (though SEGA has made claims the feelings were mutual, but again the speculating is what I did like to think about).
And sure, under the wrong writer/writing is very easy to mess up their chemistry. But just like his relationship with his other friends, I think Sonic's relationship with Amy is very important. With Amy, she really emphasizes the importance and popularity of Sonic within their universe and her being inspired and wanting to improve by his heroic actions further proves the great impact Sonic leaves/has. And with Sonic, not only does having Amy around gives him another friend worth protecting, but we also get to see Amy bring out certain emotions from the blue blur we normally don't see outside of his "cool" attitude.
Sonic and Amy have a neat dynamic, but it's so easy for it to be misunderstood and mischaracterized, that it makes me upset that some would go as far to say that they're not even friends, which is completely not true.
I am absolutely sorry that what I said might be messy (I suck at explanations like this).

You know, Sonic and Amy chemistry kinda reminds me Aang and Katara relationship. Sure, Sonic didn't wake up after spending century in iceberg and Katara didn't look at him as a hero romantically(until "The Fortuneteller" episode) but I think they are similar in character, like Aang did show off his powers and was out of focus on his goal because of his reputation.
Thinking over it, I figured to myself that my favorite part of their dynamic is making each other a better person while not arguing all the time to do it. If anything, they make very believable close friends.
However, I actually wouldn't mind them being savage and sarcastic towards one another like in Boom to show their friendship bond development. I understand some people are off with Boom Amy being more strict and "killjoy" than regular Amy, but I think it's fixable just combining the best aspects of both. I wonder what the general reaction would be if more people saw Fleetway version of Amy
And it's kinda sucks that Sonic and Amy aren't given any moments to just spend time just together(can't really bring up Frontiers scene since it was dramatic and dedicated to the game plot). Just something casual like taking pictures, that's why I end up watching Sherrydoodlez Sonamy casual moments animatic to see it and further believe in their bond. As well as to see Amy, Sticks and Cream team up(I hope Sega won't screw it up)
So, yeah, it's short, I don't really know and have that much material to refer to. Still, Sonic and Amy dynamic is amazing, I'm glad the dark times of wrong characterization are over and hope for more respectable performances of their care for each other

I do see your point about this, although I see them as just friends.
