One of my favourite watches. Extremely comfy on the wrist as well. You should complain to your seller about the stain, unusual that!! Tudor should fix that. I don't think you can polish titanium like steel. Great photography on the macros. Keep up the great work!!
I was impressed with your review of the VC overseas and I am very impressed with this as well. I own this watch as a beater. Having had every version of Rolexes I cannot say enough about the Pelagos. It’s everything a beater watch should be. Tough as nails light on the wrist. I own The LHD version which is the left-handed diver. It’s meant to be slightly more whimsical than the blue and has a roulette wheel for the numbers and a slightly patinaed loom. It represents unparalleled value in this category. Water resistant to 500 m, accurate, antimagnetic, shock resist, ceramic bezel, offer a price point that is almost too good to believe. And a manufacture movement. The stain is a flaw and I would send it back to them. Completely unacceptable. I understand the reasoning for only doing anti-reflective coating on the inside. While it works on the outside it also scratches fairly easily. Breitling does this and it’s very obvious. Watch collector for decades, well done. I subscribed.
As other have commented your presentation is fabulous. I learned about the watch without having someone shout at me or have verbal diarrhoea going off on their own, great review. Saw this watch in the flesh today, it’s a stunner.
Super detailed review! I bought one a few days ago. Only two issues I have: 1. Bezel insert not perfectly aligned. 2. The edges of the bracelet and case are sharp! That brings some discomfort. Overall a killer watch. If they change these two things I'd say it almost perfect.
I've had my Pelagos for a while now and find it very durable, hides minor scratches so well. I used to have a Black Bay and I wasn't overly careful with it so it ended up with quite a few very visible marks on the glossy sides. That circular mark on yours is very strange, haven't seen that before. You should get in contact with Tudor about it
What a great review with perfect macro recordings. Its June 2022 and I own a blue Pelagos by my self. The RLX is resting in the box 😁. Thank you so much!
@@donaldneo4317 I have- first off the blue is a fantastic watch. I got the LHD bc I felt it’s coloring made it more versatile and I also like the quirks of the lefty crown, the red “Pelagos,” and the roulette date wheel. All made the piece much more unique to me than the standard pelly. Whichever you choose, you’re going to love the bracelet. It’s easily the nicest and most innovative bracelet in my collection. Which boasts a few more luxurious pieces with lesser quality bracelets.
Great insight. I enjoy my pelagos as my daily (doing construction) and it has held up extremely well so far. Thankfully my two-liner does not have any QC issues. I suppose the pelagos will be very sought after in the coming years.
Time and time again you help me really see the dimensions as worn. Though I have a 7 inch wrist I am really concerned about the sizing of this one. I tried the BB58 blue and found it small for sport wear. I think this one will fit the bill. Thank you again!
Terrific review as always. I’m fortunate to own this blue pelagos along w/ numerous Rolex ss “tool” timepieces (green 41 sub, Batman, Explorer, yacht master,) Sinn, etc but the Sinn & pelagos receive the most wrist time. These are the more useful tool watches and can take abuse.
Just bought a blue pelagos its faultless I must of had 30 good watches overtime nothing comes close the build the look everything if you're thinking of another watch or only one go and get one on you're wrist ,super happy with it .
Everything you said with the watch is great however the best part about the watch most people leave out, the accuracy. Its the most accurate automatic watch I have ever worn. In four months of use mine has gained about a second, GS spring drive is 15sec a month to put that into perspective.
Mine is extremely accurate too. But watches Automatics can be crazy accurate as well as bad. Luck if the draw. I have a Breitling Super Ocean Heritage.42mm. With the same movement. It just did a + 15 second September and an omega Seamaster 300SMP with a 2500D that did +60 for September.
@@robertsullivan4773 I usually don't keep the once that are bad honestly. I have two watches just got another that is a chronometer so I hope its good if its not I let them go. Tudor and Grand Seiko so far for me.
HJM - for sure , you are the CSI , of wrist watch reviews. I purchased the tudor pelagos - I think the blue of the dial is wonderful, the Lum is great. this was my first nice watch. be safe. ~. JDS/CT
Really like your videos. Watched a lot till now and you have some great shot angles and macros. My only thought on this video and sort of advice to you is that Tudor Pelagos is a great diving watch with lots of elements you don't usually find in that price range. But there are many divers from brands with rich history out there besides Rolex which you can compare it in that range too. If we always compare Tudor to Rolex, then I think we are just undermining their own unique character to their sibling brand. Tudor Pelagos can hold its own.
I think the stain gives it character ! As a powerhouse as Ti is , it’s still organic! I think you have a very special watch, just enjoy it! It’s truly an amazing watch and those that own them just know...
A great review, and the first to highlight the defects or QC issues. Also the hands look cheap. I would have to return it if it were my watch. I wonder what stained the titanium.
This is a much better watch for diving than the submariner. Lots of features very useful for diving including the lumed bezel markings and auto stretch clasp
Never had a straining issue on my Pelagos but I did have it on a stainless Otis and Breitling. It almost as if some of the plastic wrap these companies are using had some caustic liquid
Great review. I own this piece since July as part of a modest collection. It's diffinily not and everyday watch. But having the same wrist size as you I can attest it's chunky but the titanium make it wear like a smaller watch. Your right about the misalighed indices mine has the same ones. But to be honest once you see them get annoyed you move on you really have to look for it. Anyone that think Tudor/Rolex make perfect watches is kidding themselves. This watch is a tank and a fun no nonsense tool watch with a very playful look. Mine is running at +3 seconds a day. One thing important you missed us it's price point. For a diver like this and all it's features it's very attainable at around $4,600. USD. and my dealer offered a nice 10% discount. Took care of the tax and then some. Again not a daily wear but a great go on an adventure watch. It can go anywhere. Just not to Anything fancy. Bring your BB58 or Date Just for that. Love my Pelegos. Sorry about the smudge, that inexcusable. That's a quality assurance blunder it should never got past final. Worked it aerospace defence for 38 years in management, I'd had someone hide it I saw that had shipped with it and it did. That happened processing the case and should have been caught early in the build, hell before the watch was cased Up.
Great review but I disagree on the external AR coating. I hate AR coating on the outside of my watches be ause it inevitably gets scratches...negating part of the scratch free benefit of the sapphire. And the repair requires a new sapphire crystal. Rolex doesn't use it inside OR outside because they want that watch to shine like jewelry so internal AR coating seems like the perfect compromise.
lovely vid but hang on, isn't it the case that rolex don't use ANY anti-reflective coating on ANY Submariner dial....so isn't the Pelagos a step up/improvement?
Loving the technology and braclet workings. The blue is just a bit too out there for my taste. No doubt wonderful legibility under the waves. The dull sheen of brushed titanium is pure tooltastic. Bit big for me. And to be picky that OTT dial text at six o’clock also looks misaligned too near the 6. I’d get that mark professionally sorted, like a ding on a new car the eye is drawn to the defect. Surely that can be sorted.
The bezel will not shatter if you drop it, other users have hit the watch against walls, drop the watch, one bloke was a builder and worn it as an every day, and you don't put an anti reflection coat on the outside of a watch, because it will mottle the dial after a while, also Rolex has no anti flex on any surface of the glass, so under bright sunlight the glass is difficult to see the dial through.
A 39-40mm version of this watch with 20m lug would be enticing consider its a distinct Tudor only product with ceramic bezel and not a “heritage” inspired model from 1958
Love it, everyone wants it smaller. I have a 16cm wrist it fits and feels fine. It's a big bold diver in my case blue. I don't want it smaller. Bigger no, it's great at 42. A touch thinner OK but then say good bye to the helium escape valve. I know it's useless to 99% of of us but do is my cars 185mph top end. But it's nice to know it's there.
Robert Sullivan idk..it’s not a seller even though it’s more technically advanced than the BB 58...this needs to move down to 41mm and 13mm to really compete.
Always say this but why would you buy the Seamaster 300 when this is signficantly cheaper and has better WR and power reserve and a good looking HEV ....
Because the pelagos is not a good looking watch. It looks like a lego toy. Omega has class and looks elegant. Tudor has class, but is not elegant in design. But hey, if you like Pelagos, no ones stopping you. Just don't compare the two because they're on different levels

Hi Hafiz, I trying to decide between blue or LHD version. I liked the blue shade but do you think the matt textured dial and matt bezel sort of made it look toy like and plastic? Or am I the minority that think so?
It looks like smurf, toyish, funky and youthful, all in beautiful way. There are so many black dial divers and I think as long as you don’t mind a bit of louder and statement looks, blue is the Pelagos to pick. Don’t think it looks cheap or plasticky at all.
Apparently it's a common defect of some batches of inserts (some of older etas and most of the newer doesn't have the issue, so I think it's not a problem of a specific reference), mine had the issue but Rolex changed it under warranty, now it looks holding on after a year and a half
I have to say that Tudor and even Rolex finishing are far from the best in the price range. You can say whatever you want but in terms of pure finishing, this is not where you go.
