Hans Wilsdorf created Rolex and then Tudor. The Rolex part of the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation is the main entity. Tudor would not exist without Rolex. That's also why you can take any Tudor watch to any Rolex dealer for service.
From my understanding this was only an issue on older Pelagos models and has since been resolved. If you have issues with an older one Tudor will take care of you.
The lume thing surprises me. I’ve bought a Tudor Black bay 39 about 3 months ago and besides being a nice watch I was shocked by the lume. Since I’m a watch nerd I like to give a watch a bit of blue light before going to bed. Honestly my Tudor is the first watch I can still read after hours in the dark. Don’t know how they did it but it beats any Seiko lume for example by miles. Maybe they started using different lume at some point.
Something weird about this particular watch. That is NOT the box the modern Pelagos comes in. Perhaps this is a quite a few years old? Just worth noting.
I have heard of lume falling out, but it isn't a major issue, in fact it is sometimes caused by people wearing the watch in a hot shower, and the glue melting, causing the lume to fall out, having money, doesn't necessarily mean intelligence.
@maverickwatchreviews it was mentioned in an on line discussion about causes for lume falling out, a few people mentioned lume falling out in a swimming pool, one person said the lume fell out of their watch during a hot shower.
Love my Pelagos 42 no problem with the lume but Tudor makes millions of watches they are always going to be one or two lemons but that’s why I buy new from AD full warranty yes secondhand and grey market is cheaper to something goes wrong
i love the ranger!!! GADA and those hands and that dial. its like a sleeper luxury watch. i would love to own a black bay 58 some day but whats disappintiong abt this one is that for this price i would expect some coating against scratches. i dont think there is.. whats concerning is im hearing lots of qc issues with tudor, dust in the movement and on the dial etc.. idk if its true or not🤷♂
There's something even more wrong with that lume. The bezel is laser ablated and filled with solid lume. If there is any white at all, it will glow. The lume isn't painted on top. The people with this problem have the entire slab of lume popping out of the laser ablated indices.
Yeah, that's not a real Tudor Pelagos....I've had two of them and they Do NOT come in that box.....The Lume in both of my watches has never had the issue that you have with that watch....
ADs provide whatever box is on hand. This style box is not uncommon at all, especially for older Pelagos examples from 2016-2017. A 5-second glance tells you that this is an authentic Pelagos, at least externally.
Honestly don't why someone buys a Tudor, it is poor's man Rolex which is fail in my book. Their designs are so bland, nothing special about them, and now this crap on $5K+ watch? completely unacceptable. Omega and Omega Seamaster blows Tudor out of the water IMO. They are more interesting than any Rolex watch in my opinion.
Have owned 2 Tudors, 4 Rolex and 2 Omegas, I’ll likely pick up a Pelagos this year and honestly should have bought it over the Planet Ocean I just sold. Tudor does bracelets better than Omega. No question about that.
Rolex doesn't own Tudor. Both Rolex and Tudor belong to Fondation Hans Wilsdorf. Nice watch. 🤙🏼

Love my 4yr old Blue Pelagos no problems with it so far. Fingers crossed!
FYI Rolex has made a titanium yacht master and I think that new diver that can go to the bottom of the Ocean is titanium.

Wow. People love to complain about Seiko, but I've never seen this on a Seiko.
You need to wear it above the wrist bone not on the joint. That’s why it doesn’t fit
Beautiful watch and a fantastic review as always 👏
Bring the watch into an AD. If it’s a genuine watch, parts included, Tudor would replace the bezel.
Thanks for the insight. This video confirmed my purchase of the Omega Seamaster.
I’ve just bought exactly the same watch. My lume is amazing. The strap needs a half link. I couldn’t find the perfect fit. Got one from Uncle seiko
I actually have a brand new link for sale if you need it. They're normally around $400.00 but I can make you a great deal.

Where did you read that about the lume falling out due to taking a hot shower?
@maverickwatchreviews it was mentioned in an on line discussion about causes for lume falling out, a few people mentioned lume falling out in a swimming pool, one person said the lume fell out of their watch during a hot shower.
@@kevinbarnbrook4728 resolved. Every old OG Pelagos coming in for service will be fitted with an improved insert that remedies the issue.

One or two lemons? The forums are full of complaints about the lume problem

Shame about the lume. One of my all time favorite watches. Love that blue. Thanks for sharing!
Yes the pelly def has lume issue heard of it many times . Great watch otherwise and I’m sure Tudor has no qualms about resolving the issue
Rolex has the titanium yachtmaster and the deepsea challenge.
I like the Ranger. Great field watch.
my san martin version is amazing. i also have their ranger
Wow first 🎉

Great comment. I was absolutely shocked when I discovered this lume issue on some of these Pelagos watches.

Yeah, it's definitely an authentic Tudor and a few, including this one, have had this issue. It's also 9 years old.

Yeah you haven’t owned any Tudor prior to 2019. Cheers
@@maverickwatchreviews I've got one and sorry to say that its not a real one
@@MrSebastianBlake It's 100% authentic but thanks for the comment.

Omega are great and their movements are top notch as well.
But their prices for the same watch over the past few years have increased dramatically.
I respectfully disagree, but that’s why they make all kinds of different watches. You are sure to find one that speaks to you.
@@UnboxingEngineer When you manage to own both, you find that the pelagos is definitely not a poor mans Rolex.
One day perhaps.
Rolex don't own Tudor, both Rolex and Tudor are owner by the Hans Wilsdorf group.
And who was Hans Wilsdorf?
