Very nice review. I originally fell for the Omega but not so much anymore. It is just to loud for me. I like the Pelagos but will probably go with the Tudor Heritage....
I own a 1973 Omega DeVille 1012. It is a 23 jewel 28800 automatic. It is 49 years old . In beautiful condition. It has a gorgeous blue dial. It is stainless steel. It is extremely quiet and accurate. I set to atomic time. It is Chronograph accurate. I would match it against any Rolex on any day
Excellent review and very thorough! I've owned the Tudor Pelagos, 5 line and truly enjoyed it. I did upgrade to the Sea Dweller, but I do miss the Tudor. The 70 hour power reserve, titanium case and Ceramic bezel made it a great value proposition. I also had the Omega PO 600m gmt, Oreo bezel. A great looking watch, very functional with a great movement. I think the problem most of us "watch geeks/collectors" have, is the search, purchase then flip and then ultimately, some regrets along the way. i will say that i will re-purchase both some day. Great review again, please keep them coming!
Little tip for the owners of this version of the Seamaster... mine runs slow when laid crown down. Alternating crown down and any other position has kept it almost running perfect for the last couple of months
Both amazing watches which are in my collection all be it the SM is a early 2003 model. My LHD peli gets the most wrist time though. Just an amazing every day watch
I am very pleased to find your video as I'm In the great position of deciding which of these two desirable watches I want in my collection. The price difference between them cannot be discounted. Omega has increased their prices twice in under 12 months. As a piece of jewellery, of art, I'm finding it difficult to justify the extra cost of the Omega.
I have the white dial Seamaster and blue Pelagos. I love both equally for very different reasons. I do find that the Seamaster is a bit more wearable. It wears a quite bit smaller. The Pelagos is far superior to the Black Bay which I have also. Recently picked up a DSSD. When I get tired of the weight, I usually throw on one of these or my explorer.
I just sold my Seamaster 300 with the White dial and got the Pelagos last week. I wanted to love the Seamaster but just couldn’t, the dial was too busy and I couldn’t get over the helium escape valve. The Pelagos I haven’t been able to take off my wrist. Has so much presence and is so comfortable on the wrist. I also don’t think its just a tool watch, it looks great with a lot of different outfits and when the light hits the titanium it looks absolutely gorgeous. Pelagos for the Win💪🏽
Heck yeah! #TeamPelagos 💪 It’s really a lot more versatile than its tooly vibe would suggest. Super comfortable on the wrist as well - one of the best. Thanks for tuning in and happy new year!

The first appearance of Omega was in Golden Eye and since then in every Bond film. That’s why prices went up. Without that Omega could costs the same as Tudor.
Sorry about the late reply , I have owned and loved my SM Divers 300 for about 3 years now in black wave dial and its been perfect in every way . Picked up a Pelagos last week ( 2nd hand ) and have not taken it off yet , love the white hands on black dial , stunning contrast ! , and yes they are different enough to both be keepers , I love the both . Thank you
I was going to buy the omega until I tried the Tudor. Both are really nice but Tudor connected with me. If you’ve after something flashy Omega is the one for you.
Left hand pelagos for me! The hands of the omega never spoke to me. I do wish they would limit the amount the text on the pelagos though. Other than that, it’s gaining traction on next to buy list. Great review, keep up the great work! Subscribed!
Thanks so much for the support! The Pelagos would be my choice as well - just much cleaner and simpler design. I don’t mind the text, but the watch could certainly benefit from a mm or two reduction in thickness, much like its ETA twin.

My black bay was back to me in 72 hours. The omega was beautiful. A slightly nicer watch imo. But the Tudor is perfection on the wrist. Plus the design is a lot more timeless imo.
For my own style of watch collecting I like to try out different brands. If you have never owned an Omega try going for that rather than going back to back Tudor. Nothing wrong with that if you went that way though. You need to go with your heart
I bought an omega Seamaster and had to return it because of imperfections on the dial. Plus I found the bracelet to be very uncomfortable, scratchy and sharp. The Pelagos will be my next purchase.
Man..I'm having a hard time deciding between these 2. I'm also throwing in the white dial seamaster as well. I like how the Omega brings a little bit brand recognition when worn. Tudor flies under the radar, which is not always a bad thing, but sometimes a little showing off never hurts haha. Also, in my opinion, especially this day in age, I think the tudor can pull off paired with a suit. I mean how badass would it look when you are wearing an Armani suit, and a well worn Pelagos pokes out?
I was having the same dilemma, and ended up pulling the trigger on the Omega. I got it in black on the rubber strap. I really love it. In the sunshine that black ceramic dial is very reflective and really pops. To me the rubber strap is really the best way to go for the Omega too. I don't like the look of that bracelet. Overall it's a very premium looking watch in person. But I'm sure I'd have loved the Pelagos just as much if I'd have gone with that instead. It's a beautiful piece and has a lot of presence. The only thing I don't like is that it's too much like a Rolex. People who don't know anything about the brands might think it's trying to replicate the Submariner. But that's not really what made me pass on it. Honestly I was just taking too long trying to decide and made a snap decision for the Omega. One thing I will say, I find that the Omega wears a little more casually than I'd originally have thought, especially on the rubber strap. It's not something I'd generally wear with a suit, unless it was a more casual/sporty suit. I imagine the Pelagos does better in this regard because it's no-nonsense look can pretty much go with anything. I actually have a good dress watch anyway, so this doesn't bother me, but if the Omega was my only watch I'd probably be looking into bracelet options to try and dress it up a little for when I needed to wear it in a more formal setting.

I went for the Pelagos39 because there was a 1700 usd difference here in my local AD's , 5900 usd for the Omega and 4200 usd with 24 payment cuotes on the tudor.
The top "click" on the bezel of the Pelagos is actually very helpful when aligning without looking. Chunky yes, but beautiful, tough chunky. Both amazing watches, but I'm partial to the Pelagos. The movement on the SMP is clearly exceptional though.
Great video and comparison. I particularly enjoyed the watch version of the Newtons cradle. I felt your pain with the "oops". I admire your ability to keep rolling. I would have had to stop to stroke the watches. Well done.
I think you were pretty balanced in your comparison. I have an older SMP. I have worn it on dressy occasions. I have also worn it diving down to 120 feet. All reviewers talk about the scalloped bezel being difficult to grip. I have dipped it into sea water and have no trouble gripping it with wet hands. In fresh water, I do have trouble gripping it. Since I would never dive in fresh water, that is a non issue. Yes, I could see both of these in my collection, if I had the funds for both. I will stick with my SMP and PO. I think Omega does a little better job than Rolex and Tudor for people who actually dive with their watches. That is just my opinion, and I realize I am probably in the minority.
Just sold my seamaster and purchased the pelagos. Don’t get me wrong- loved the Sm. Spectacular piece. Far better finished than the Tudor but I am at a stage where I prefer the all brushed tool feel of the Tudor. I wanted a diver that was all business. I already have enough watches with a bit of flash. Can’t really go wrong either way. Funny enough, I think my favourite diver to date (and I’ve had a lot) is the omega planet ocean.
A nice balanced review, on two great watches. I sold my Pelli for a LHD Pelli, I found the standard Pelli very stark, where the LHD adds a funk factor. I also own the Previous rendition of the Seamaster, D model with the 3 stage co-axial. Absolutely love the watch, but it looses out on practically as the bezel markings are near impossible to discern unless in good lighting. Thanks 🙏
i have 2 rolex and just brought the tudor here. love it. brought a 2 month old 42mm one for 3 grand. i hate the fussy strap links on the Omega, its just not a nice looking strap, and ive owned both a seamaster and a planet ocean., love the clean Tudor look and amazing strap, deffo the better buy.
Yeah I’m the same- a couple of tweaks to the sm300 would make it incredible (tapering the bracelet being the most notable - the scalloped bezel, skeleton hands and pointless helium valve are not to my liking but I get they are part of the watches dna.)
Like yourself own both and for me it’s the pelagos all day long . It’s beauty is in its simplicity everything is done so well and very comfortable . Omega is a great watch but feel it’s ruined somewhat by the bracelet . I feel non tapering makes it look clunky . It also adds a lot of weight to the watch , feels heavy on the wrist and I also find that there are sharp edges on clasp and link edges which rubs uncomfortably against my wrist .. This for me ruins the experience I’m afraid ..
I have the Omega 300 M and have been thinking about actually buying a Pelagos was actually looking at one the other day at mayors and I love the weight of it but it's just so impractical but then honestly is that why you buy watches to be practical.
Hello, love the Omega Seamaster Diver 300m, may I ask what is your wrist size? Do you think it is comfortable to wear it for a long period of time, a day to day watch?
Hi! I have a 6.5” wrist. Unfortunately I will say that the new Seamaster (featured in this video) is too bulky and heavy for my preference. The bracelet links are also a bit sharp so it’s not the most comfortable to wear as a daily.
The "flashiness" of the Omega reminds the consumer that they've bought a luxury tool product. We've moved away from the days when people actually dove with mechanical watches. Not many people would be brave enough to jump into the water with a >$5000 watch. I've tried on the Pelagos and like some other commenters are saying, it does indeed feel "off" the fact that it's so light. My opinion is that at some point, the Pelagos will look and feel like any other regular watch whereas the Omega with its ceramic dial and bezel will continue to shine and remind you that you bought something truly special.
The Pelagius spring on the clasp is for when placed over the Divers Wet suit. As the Diver goes deeper the sleeve can compress and the spring adjusts accordingly.
Nice comparison, was deciding between the LHD and the White Seamaster and ended up with the LHD. However I find my bezel to have sort of a springy play when you press down on the bezel. The bezel actually turns and sound differently when I rotate the bezel by gripping the coin edge vs pressing down on the bezel insert to rotate. Is that normal? Do you have that?
Looks wise i think the Tudor will age better. It’s more classic. In 10 years time the Omega will look dated, but the Tudor won’t. However it’s not perfect - the Pelagos needs to be 1-2mm smaller and with METAS certification
With everything being made now with the sole intention of being “timeless” and in smaller cases I actually prefer the more modern and contemporary look of the sea-master. In 10 years I think it will be cool to look at it because it is of this time. Not something that is trying to be like every other watch in the past
Tip for future videos. Showing a watch with a sweeping seconds hand shows your edits. Next time, split the audio and video so the video is continuous, and cut/edit your audio before readding it to the video.
For me, I'd like a little more aesthetics in a watch if I'm paying $5K. The Peli is bit subdued for me. I have the Seamaster Pro and looking to get the Seamster 300.
Blue pelagos fits well in my collection and a phenomenal tool watch. The movement in the pelagos is built by Rolex as they own Tudor. Owning numerous Rolex tool Timepieces, the Pelagos & Sinn EZM 9 get more wrist time.
Movement is not made by Tudor / Rolex it’s made by kenissi- go have a read and research into it. Definitely not a true in-house movement go and do your research Cheers
Pelagos is a pretty awesome tool watch, but a bit too slab-cased and stark. Seamaster is a quite a bit more blingy, but much more visually interesting! The design can be divisive, but I love mine! BB58 is a good option for anyone that things Pelagos is a bit too stark. The lume falling out issues are really worrying as well, considering the number of people reporting those. Much nicer clasp mechanism on the Pelagos too.
Did you switch back to the bracelet on the Omega? Or did you put it on for a better comparison? I was thinking about a Tudor Pelagos LHD (because I am left-handed). I like it...but the dial is a little bit to tooly for my taste...would prefer a dial like the BlackBay.
Switched it back for comparison and cuz I wanted to give it another chance 😆 still too bulky for me though. I know what you mean! That’s part of the appeal of the pelagos but it’s also seen as a potential downside for those who want a better all-arounder. Happy new year Marc!
I don't like Rolex but I have soft spot for Tudor, hence why I got the 42 Pelagos - their best model IMHO. My friends poke fun at me that I will soon have a Rolex in my collection to my annoyance. I would love a Seamaster but at the current offerings I think he is sllliiiightly overpriced. I would go for the white or blue SMP. I have 7" wrist and it does not overhangs, gets really comfortable when my wrist swells during the day and I can adjust it on the go.
Vids n pics of this watch do it no justice when I seen it I was like 😳😍 I went to buy the Tudor style 41mm plain bezel blue dial but left to save for this lol I can go buy cash now but just not sure yet since yesterday all Ali think of is this ❤️😭 I’m about to be out 5249 cdn 🤫 don’t tell my wife 😂🤣
Pelagos for summer. No dress watch! Wanna a dress diver from Rolex Family, go for The Sub or Bb58 Smp for winter. Both are great value for money! I have both and Will keep both
The Tudor looks like a tool I have the LHD and it can say that the fit and finish is amazing it has a purpose a mission nothing flashy nothing pretentious. The Omega is a capable dive watch but it looks like a dress watch at the end of the day . It is a matter of priorities if you want something for the office you can’t go wrong with the omega but for me the Tudor is the superior timepiece in this comparison.
I agree! Smp is 300 m. I have the PO 600 m which is comparable to the Pelagos. The Pelagos is SD class, superior watch and much lighter than the PO. A more accurate comparison? Bb58 vs Smp diver, and PO vs Pelagos
I like the titanium case of the Pelagos but the dial puts me off. The numerals are too big and it looks clumsy. Like a poker chip I seem to recall people saying when it came out.
Finally a good review. I don't understand why the Seamaster is often compared to the Rolex Sub (which is a much better watch but much more expensive). The Pelagros it is a fair opponent of the Seamaster.
I think if you’re giving it as a gift it’s impressive, or thinking of selling it on at some point, but personally I don’t store my watches in the boxes, once I’ve taken it out it stays out. I’ve a few nondescript boxes cluttering up the wardrobe, but I’d rather they reduced the price by £100 instead 😀
If the Pelagos had METAS certification I'd go for that all day. Im looking for a classic watch that Im not scared of actually using. At the moment I'm split between these two
I have he Omega Aqua Terra blue dial. It’s top heavy the lum is subpar and clasp suck. The Tudor rings all the bells and whistles I have the blue dial.
I love my tudor....its a guys watch i work in the restaurant business....i wash dishes do prep work do restocking and clean/set tables...i dont need a sporty dress watch i need a watch that will take a beating and ask for more

Interesting perspective! Do you think the seamaster and planet ocean have an edge over the sub and the sea dweller? Just curious
Thanks 🙏
I love the Red on the LHD, I wish they all had that.
@@Bpf1893 it’s called a roulette date dial you ignoramus.
i have 2 rolex and just brought the tudor here. love it. brought a 2 month old 42mm one for 3 grand. i hate the fussy strap links on the Omega, its just not a nice looking strap, and ive owned both a seamaster and a planet ocean., love the clean Tudor look and amazing strap, deffo the better buy.
Omega Seamaster is the superior watch, but i would still take the Pelagos
Excellent choice :)
Yeah I’m the same- a couple of tweaks to the sm300 would make it incredible (tapering the bracelet being the most notable - the scalloped bezel, skeleton hands and pointless helium valve are not to my liking but I get they are part of the watches dna.)
In what way is it superior, the box that's it
Both are great watches. If I could have only 1, Pelagos.
#TeamPelagos
I just purchase the white dial seamaster …. And I’m really thinking about adding the black pelagos or the Tudor GMT . Great review comparison
Omega is a ways away from creating a decent bracelet! Once they do that they will conquer the world
I have the Omega 300 M and have been thinking about actually buying a Pelagos was actually looking at one the other day at mayors and I love the weight of it but it's just so impractical but then honestly is that why you buy watches to be practical.
Impractical? It is the most practical purchase and man could purchase.
No question. You save up a little bit more than the Pelagos and you get the King, the Legend .. the Watch. Seamaster without hesitation.
I own a sea master and your comment made me happy to own this legend
Awesome review! I’m still trying to decide which one to go with.
Which one? 🤔
Nice review.
I got both for different purposes. The LHD Peli and and a white SMP on a black rubber.
Highly recommended pieces.
The LHD is sweet! Love the color schemes on that one
The Pelagos is such a dam perfect tool watch, not too shiny, just tough as hell, speaks to me more than the Omega, both awesome tho.
Hi, I did not notice that on mine. The bezel detent seemed pretty crisp and I didn’t have to press down on the bezel to rotate it
Looks wise i think the Tudor will age better. It’s more classic. In 10 years time the Omega will look dated, but the Tudor won’t. However it’s not perfect - the Pelagos needs to be 1-2mm smaller and with METAS certification
I have an omega. I do agree though even though it’s hot now it is def is not the most timeless look.
Definitely not a true in-house movement go and do your research
Cheers
How's the EZM 9? Still like it? I'm thinking of selling a few watches to make the EZM 9 my daily watch.
thank you for this amazing comparison!
Thank YOU for watching! I appreciate it a lot
Interesting, never heard about the issue with the lume falling out. On the BB58?
I have them both. Love them both equally.
Lucky man
I would go for the original two-liner Pelagos, in fact I *did* go for it - and I couldn’t be happier.
🤩 amazing pickup!
Both watches are just so nice! How big are your wrists?
Thank you! My wrist is 6.5” in diameter
@@watchyourstyle thanks. I just needed a reference for whether an Omega would suit my wrists. I’m 6.75 inches. So that gives me some reassurance.
Anytime! Thanks for tuning in 😊
Did you switch back to the bracelet on the Omega? Or did you put it on for a better comparison? I was thinking about a Tudor Pelagos LHD (because I am left-handed). I like it...but the dial is a little bit to tooly for my taste...would prefer a dial like the BlackBay.
Switched it back for comparison and cuz I wanted to give it another chance 😆 still too bulky for me though. I know what you mean! That’s part of the appeal of the pelagos but it’s also seen as a potential downside for those who want a better all-arounder. Happy new year Marc!
@@watchyourstyle a happy new year to you, too (sorry, I don‘t know your first name😉).
It’s Charlie :)
@@watchyourstyle Hey Charlie, nice to "meet" you! Keep up the good work & content!
@@Calivar Great to “officially” meet you too!! Thanks for the support as always 😊 catch ya in the next one
Is that tudor pelagos scratch magnet? Scratch easy?
I’ve heard that titanium does scratch easier than SS. But it hides it well due to the brushing
The Tudor is black and blue dial??
my Omega 300 in white have a very poor lume for a diver. I love the watch but the lume does not last more than few minutes!!??
The issue with omega here in Australia right now is that for servicing watches go back to Switzerland and the turnaround time is months. Not ideal.
Can’t take it to a third party ?
@@WatchUnwind I did do that in the end and wasn't happy. It's an early 50's Seamaster and I wanted it back to spec. Sadly it was just an ok job.
Pelagos is the way! Also the Planet Ocean 39.5mm which I have in my rotation fits beautifully on me as well.
Why not combine the 2? Omega Seamaster PO Titanium.
Isn't grade 2 titanium softer?
do you still have the pelagos? you still liking it?
Sold it to fund another timepiece unfortunately. Great watch, definitely a little top heavy, but thankfully it’s super lightweight
Omega is in a different level - absolutely
Pelagos for summer. No dress watch! Wanna a dress diver from Rolex Family, go for The Sub or Bb58
Smp for winter.
Both are great value for money!
I have both and Will keep both
Tool / sport watches ftw 🙌!! Dress watch 👎
The clasp on the Pelagos is stainless steel.
Thought the hole bracelet was titanium 🧐
I like the titanium case of the Pelagos but the dial puts me off. The numerals are too big and it looks clumsy. Like a poker chip I seem to recall people saying when it came out.
Finally a good review. I don't understand why the Seamaster is often compared to the Rolex Sub (which is a much better watch but much more expensive). The Pelagros it is a fair opponent of the Seamaster.
Wrong way round, the Seamaster is the superior watch and available new for around half the price of the sub.
@@AZadeh-nd8vx well said 👍🏼
I rock with team Omega
At least omega give you a high quality wooden box rolex/tudor on the other hand
I think if you’re giving it as a gift it’s impressive, or thinking of selling it on at some point, but personally I don’t store my watches in the boxes, once I’ve taken it out it stays out. I’ve a few
nondescript boxes cluttering up the wardrobe, but I’d rather they reduced the price by £100 instead 😀
@@leemartin2978 try £300 for the omega box yea your right but its still nice to open up a polished wooden box than a cheap plastic/cardboard one
👍
If the Pelagos had METAS certification I'd go for that all day. Im looking for a classic watch that Im not scared of actually using. At the moment I'm split between these two
Let’s hope for a METAS Pelagos soon!
To give it it's due the Pelagos goes through rigorous testing and the accuracy is on par with the Omega.
I have both. The Omega on Rubber. I prefer the Tudor.
the Omega is so gorgeous, the Tudor kind of plain in comparison, looks like a poker chip
I prefer the Tudor Pelagos by a huge margin. Looks are subjective; not a fan of the Omega whatsoever.
Tudor 4k, omega 5.5k?
the pelagos is simply too thick for me, i went for the bb36, couldnt resist the gloss black dial
I have he Omega Aqua Terra blue dial. It’s top heavy the lum is subpar and clasp suck. The Tudor rings all the bells and whistles I have the blue dial.
Superior side by side review. Much better than the RUclipsrs with two or three hundred thousand subscribers.
Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment! I really appreciate that
Great video!
Thank you so much!
I love my tudor....its a guys watch i work in the restaurant business....i wash dishes do prep work do restocking and clean/set tables...i dont need a sporty dress watch i need a watch that will take a beating and ask for more
No frills tool watch! Love it
Bezel click goes to Tudor.
Comfort on wrist goes to Tudor.
Lume goes to Tudor.
Stealth mode look goes to Tudor.
I have both and well worth it.
That bracelet of the Seamaster is hideous!
The sea master is on another level for sure
