    Man I know this was marketed as like a family ride and might still be considered it by (the frankly a bit crazy) American standards but this still looks like a really solid thrill ride. I mean a ride like this in a typical midsized European theme park would pretty much be the star attraction, the flagship of the place. And I mean yeah, it also look incredibly thrilling with its airtime and steep drops and rapid transitions. Definitely far above your typical family ride. Can't wait to see the review of it.

      Got to ride this twice on Friday. I agree this is a step up from a family coaster. Of course, maybe there are families out there that need an introduction to ejector air time….in which case, this coaster would offer a few great examples.

    • @drdewott9154
      @drdewott9154 2 года назад +10

      @@JP-vk9iq I mean when I think of family coasters I usually think of stuff like Freedom Flyer down the road at FunSpot, or at the very largest, White Lightning at the same park. Something which you could almost take your grandparents on and they too would still have as much fun as everyone else. The steepness of the drops alone on Ice Breaker is gonna break the ice for many families trying to tread on it, I can say that much.

      They actually upped the height requirement a few days after open if didn't hear. It now has a higher height requirement than iron gwazi ha
      But for real it's super smooth, bizarrely quiet, and it's a perfect coaster to introduce people to bigger coasters. Aside from the unique track switch/layout it's actually pretty bland if you are a coaster fanatic.. Mako is still the coaster star of the park IMO.

      In seriousness though, Iron Gwazi is miles ahead of this...
      Sleeper you're right - it's been opening weeks and the lines for Icebreaker have been overall pretty minimal (longest I've seen was 45 and only after people get out of orca show and head right to closest thing) while Iron Gwazi had 2+ hour waits during Platinum previews some days (I heard superbowl Sunday had crazy long line) I can't imagine how long Iron Gwazi will be once opens to everyone. Busch Gardens rocked in terms of Florida coaster releases this year.

    • @JP-vk9iq
      @JP-vk9iq 2 года назад +9

      You get a good quick ejector pop on hill before the top hat. The ride is short but sweet with about 6 airtime moments. The restraints are a bit convoluted (the over the shoulder collar is pretty much useless). The weirdest thing about this coaster is how there is no room between your seat and the seat in front of you. I’m 5’9 about 175 pounds, very close to average height and weight, getting on and off this coaster is going to be difficult for most people. I have never seen seats packed this tightly together on any other coaster I have been on.

      @JP-vk9iq 2 года назад +4

      I haven’t been on Verbolten, but the launches on Icebreaker are not too intense, but on the second launch forward it really is set at a perfect rate to give you solid ejector on the hill before the top hat, and still get u over the top hat with good air time going over that element as well. I don't hate them! They're just not the 'main thing' on my channel! Besides, this is a brand new attraction, so a lot of people are interested in seeing a POV of it. Don't worry, we'll have more non-pov related videos for it up soon :)

    • @benm1414
      @benm1414 2 года назад

      This year? 🤣 This was actually pretty much finished a few years ago and was supposed to open 2020 but a variety of things happened from my understanding (COVID, possible payment issues). But as things opened they've stoll been cutting serious corners. They still have yet to open Empire of the Penguin ride - they've been actually using it for storage haha they've even stopped mentioning the ride as being closed and just pretend it doesn't exist anymore. But they did attempt to buy Cedar Fair so maybe that was all part of the plan, cut costs to save up and buy some more intense parks and expand 🤷‍♂️

      Haha clever - in seriousness it is slightly boring after the intriguing track switch and incredibly mild. But it is a great coaster I think to get your friends who want to go bigger but are afraid a gateway into the more adult coasters without scaring them off so I guess that's a plus!

      Not everything needs to be super exciting. We already have Mako, Manta, and Kraken which are big crazy exciting rides. Personally I'm quite excited to try the ice breaker, it looks fun and much easier for my poor stomach to handle.
