Remember to reapply the thermal paste. Clean the old ones with alcohol and qtip and reapply with x formation.
X formation? I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks John!

Just did this upgrade using your video. Ty!
Awesome! Did you get the clear or the black unit?
@@cosmicgamingunlimited clear blue
Great demo on the upgrade!
Glad you think so!
apart from forcing the thing apart
@@goodfodderI explain later to use an expunger tool, but it would still require quite a bit of force to separate.
did it make a HUGE night and day difference?
I like to play palworld via Xbox cloud gaming. When using the selector wheel I would find it impossible to select items in specific locations on the wheel. This fixed the issue. The sticks feel better as well. The kit I bought was $20, but I just used the link from Retro Game Corps. Any Nintendo switch replacement stick will work with this device. Pick a kit that comes with the tools. I do find I need to reduce sensitivity in games, even on stock sticks.
Great video friend! My question is.. if I need to replace the battery and dpad. where I can buy? Is it possible to purchase these parts?
I would contact anbernic directly. I would expect aftermarket parts to start showing up as the RG556 starts selling more units, as its fairly new. What part of the dpad needs replaced?
@@cosmicgamingunlimited Thanks for the answer friend. I asked because I live in Brazil and wanted to know if Anbernic would sell these pieces separately and send them to Brazil. In my case the dpad is making a noise every time I press "up" on the dpad and on the left analog stick too.
So it's better than original?
Yes. I recommend it. It would be great if they just fixed the problem at the factory. If anyone has purchase one lately let me know if the factory sticks still fail to hit all corners.
Where did u buy this please help me
I purchased mine from amazon. Here is an affiliate link to the item amzn.to/3JtF292. I will make a small amount from amazon if you purchase using this link.

Good upgrade and decent video, but I was having anxiety watching you use improper tools! Buy an iFixit kit or a electronics kit. Anything other than that terrible allen wrench and micro screwdriver. Find a spudger or a flat plastic tool to spread apart the case
I thought it would be funny, but people took it seriously. I use other tools in my other videos. I honestly just wanted people to realize you don’t need expensive tools to fix or replace things.
@@cosmicgamingunlimited lol. Well good to know. Yours is the first video I’ve seen for this upgrade so you were new to me. Now that I know you know better I’m in on the joke lol. Thanks
@@o.g.awe3785 FYI, it was annoying my 5 year old daughter as well. She watches me make these videos. I do them in my garage. She was like “why are you using my stuff! Your tools are right there!” I also use an oversized chisel to split open a RG35XX H. Good times. I thought about redoing this video since I am new to making videos and have learned a lot since making this.
@@cosmicgamingunlimited ha ha! That’s great. I’ll look at your other videos.
Why would any one replace Switch sticks with more Switch's sticks. That's like replacing cancer with another cancer.
Switch style sticks. Switch sticks are not Hall effect and prone to stick drift. The RG556 comes with poorly made Hall effect sticks. I replaced with higher quality ones. They are more accurate than the factory RG556 sticks and not prone to stick drift like switch. I should never need to replace these. Also, the housing and board cannot support the larger ps5/xbox sticks, I like those style better as they have more travel and are better for fps games.
