    Remember to reapply the thermal paste. Clean the old ones with alcohol and qtip and reapply with x formation.

    Good upgrade and decent video, but I was having anxiety watching you use improper tools! Buy an iFixit kit or a electronics kit. Anything other than that terrible allen wrench and micro screwdriver. Find a spudger or a flat plastic tool to spread apart the case

      @@o.g.awe3785 FYI, it was annoying my 5 year old daughter as well. She watches me make these videos. I do them in my garage. She was like “why are you using my stuff! I like to play palworld via Xbox cloud gaming. When using the selector wheel I would find it impossible to select items in specific locations on the wheel. This fixed the issue. The sticks feel better as well. The kit I bought was $20, but I just used the link from Retro Game Corps. Any Nintendo switch replacement stick will work with this device. Pick a kit that comes with the tools. I do find I need to reduce sensitivity in games, even on stock sticks.

    Hi! Just want to ask if the front shell is easy to replace? Mine has a crack and I already ordered the replacement shell from Anbernic.

    • @cosmicgamingunlimited
      @cosmicgamingunlimited  2 месяца назад

      You will need to do everything in the video PLUS removing the screen. You will need to heat the adhesive with a hair dryer for about 2-3 minutes before removing the screen. Gently pry off the screen with a plastic expunger tool. If you are gentle you can reuse the adhesive. If not, you will need to buy new. Don’t overheat the screen, it will burn the oled and cause your screen to be brown.

    Is there much reason to replace the right stick? Seems like most games use the left one only, no?

    • @cosmicgamingunlimited
      @cosmicgamingunlimited  2 месяца назад +1

      When I did the test, only one stick was really bad. If you are in this situation and only play retro games, you should be good. I stream games to this device and I couldn't select certain items from weapon wheels in pal world until I did the replacement. Also, if you do the swap to both sides, the stick caps are removable from gulikit, so can remove the cap and get more space for hitting the abxy buttons.

      Simply restart the device with sticks centered. If that didn't work, you may have defective sticks :(

      Yes. I recommend it. It would be great if they just fixed the problem at the factory. If anyone has purchase one lately let me know if the factory sticks still fail to hit all corners.

    • @cperl79
      @cperl79 17 дней назад +1

      @@cosmicgamingunlimited I recently purchased one and the sticks do reach all corners. Tho my D-pad doesn’t register left all the time and may just send it back. That tear down is not user friendly at all. I replaced the sticks in my retro pocket 3+ and all I had to remove was the heat shield.

      @@cperl79 The RG556 is the worst stick replacement out of all my videos. Having to completely remove everything to get to the sticks is annoying. It's like a different company designed it other than Anbernic as their other handhelds are easily accessible.

    Why would any one replace Switch sticks with more Switch's sticks. That's like replacing cancer with another cancer.

    • @cosmicgamingunlimited
      @cosmicgamingunlimited  3 месяца назад +6

      Switch style sticks. Switch sticks are not Hall effect and prone to stick drift. The RG556 comes with poorly made Hall effect sticks. I replaced with higher quality ones. They are more accurate than the factory RG556 sticks and not prone to stick drift like switch. I should never need to replace these. Also, the housing and board cannot support the larger ps5/xbox sticks, I like those style better as they have more travel and are better for fps games.
