Whoever decided that the opening cutscene should be constantly switching between Thel's punishment and Chief, Johnson and Keyes being rewarded was a genius
Fun fact: Johnson's speech when he delivers the tank changes depending on difficulty, and on OG cutscene when you defeat the Scarab it actually shows which weapon you were wielding when you kill the last Elite on the scarab so you can see the chief holding a sniper rifle/shotgun/etc for example when he walks out the scarab
Usually, the good Lord works in mysterious ways, but not today. This here is 66 tons of straight up HE-spewing DI-VINE intervention! If God is love, well, you can call me Cupid.
Fun fact: when the covenant ship goes through the slipspace portal and it collapses at 15:30, thats the end of the opening cutscene from Halo 3 ODST when the Rookie is blown away in his drop pod.
@@GamerJoobChannel It’s pretty awesome. And if you look closely when you’re dropping, you can actually see In Amber Clad racing across the city to reach the ship.
Halo 2 is my favorite Halo game by far. Though I might be biased because my first time playing it was as Anniversary in the Master Chief Collection. Also if you haven't played Halo 5 the intro cutscenes with the Arbiter and Locke doesn't make any sense.
The story of halo 2 is so much more intricate than it gets credit for. Arbiter has an entire character arc and goes from an unknown villain to one of Halo’s most beloved heroes
The story of halo is the point for me. Halo multiplayer was never the best thing out there, these games were always made for campaign, up until 343 anyway, and even then to an extent, they just kinda fucked the story tho imo for 4 & 5. But ye, I'd say the campaign/story is almost the entire point of this series.
@@benjaminkrake4211 i wouldn't say unknown villain he was the one who burned reach and killed billions. His military service is quite legendary in the covenant.
It truly goes to show how great a voice actor Dee Bradly Baker is. Gravemind, Klaus on American Dad, the Clones on Clone Wars and Bad Batch, and SO MUCH MORE!!
A damn shame you missed out on the true Johnson tank speech. When I watched the cutscene we didn't have no fancy tank. We had sticks. Two sticks, and a rock for the whole platoon. AND WE HAD TO SHARE THE ROCK.
26:36 it was a doll. That Jackal was just bullying the Grunt by taking it away from him. Primarily because Jackals and Grunts hate each other with a passion.
@@GamerJoobChannel It's actually available to view on The Master Chief Collection. You just have to scroll down to Extras on the main menu > Videos > Halo 2 Anniversary Cinematics > and then scroll all the way down to Another Day At The Beach
The "Giving the Covenant back their bomb" is one of the coolest video game cutscenes of all time. Even with the original game engine graphics in the original version, it was incredibly epic.
It was actually a byproduct of the team having to cut levels to finish the game on time. Originally, you were supposed to travel into the ship and blow it up yourself. When they cut the mission, they substituted it for this cutscene. It's an awesome cutscene, but I still wish I could've played this. After all, I wanna play a game, not watch a movie.
Halo 2 Anniversary cutscenes were remastered by Blur Studios, and they look awesome! And the Arbiter has never looked better! 🤩 If you collect some of the terminals detailing how Thel Vadamee ascended through ranks, you’ll see that ONI had plans for him.
Make sense, Rommel was considered to be the leader of Germany by the Allies after WW2. And Thel become the leader of the Elites after the human-convenet war right?
@@isaacfairburne9981 He died before WW2 ended. He knew about the July 20th plot to assassinate Hitler but kept quiet so the SS went to his house drove him a bit away where they gave him a cyanide capsule to kill himself. If he didn't they would've killed or taken his wife and son.
The dialogue and story is so good! It's funny when I played this as the kid I hardly understood what they were saying but now that I'm older it's like. Majestic! Halo 2 is my absolute fav. Thel'Vadam is just breathtaking as a character, too!
The voice acting, the dialogue, the story. Just outstanding!!! Halo 2's campaign was my absolute favorite. Combined with the birth of Xbox Live, Halo 2 changed video games forever.

Yeah and John is around, near mid 40s as of Halo Infinite. Again he might live longer due to even more bodily enhancemets the spartan 2 program gave from young age unlike Orion/ spartan 1 program which was voulentary/ recruits like Avery Jhonson went through.
Johnson was in the original Spartan program, so he has some genetic enhancements like chief. Just not nearly as many and they weren’t nearly as effective
@@GamerJoobChannel Seem to recall from some lore tidbit that in the 26th century, the average life expectancy was 150 years, given that humanity by that point had all but eliminated most - if not all - diseases. Best example of this comes from a marine, who due to I think some Slipspace accident, ended up being sent back to the early 2000's and was told by doctors he had cancer. The guy apparently didn't even know what cancer was, given that it was pretty much non-existent in the future.
This puts a smile on my face when you did the cutscenes for this game. H2 is the very first Halo game I've ever played and will always be my favorite, warms my heart to see people give H2 it's shine since this is a hidden gem compared to the rest.
There is an extra cutscene that was not used for the campaign, it's called a day at the beach and it takes place during the first new mombasa cutscene where the scarab shoots down the pelicans. This cutscene is about the pelican that got hit by the scarab beam and its squad of odst that survived which you run into in the dark hotel hallway that leads to the mombasa beach.

I will always say that Blur Studios is the best to do this kind of thing, Thanks for the video Jade, I have a question, are you going to do this with the other halo? or just with these two?
The best speech from Johnson before the Metropolis mission is his whole "We didn't have any fancy-schmancy tanks! We had sticks! Two sticks and a rock for a whole platoon! And we had to SHARE the rock!" These cutscenes especially with the Prophets are even more interesting when you realize the 3 Prophets all knew humanity are the Reclaimers of the Forerunner legacy from the Forerunner AI Mendicant Bias but they covered it up and assumed power. It's funny each Prophets' name relates to their deaths. Regret regretted going to Earth and that move killed him, Mercy received no Mercy from Truth, and Truth died preaching his lies. And no wonder Miranda is upset her father is dead because he raised her on his own. There was actually a cut mission where Miranda betrayed the UNSC to get Chief killed because she blamed him for her father's death.
Hey jade, sorry that I’m 2 days belated. I’m glad to watch your reaction to halo 2 cutscenes (anniversary cutscenes) you should check the og halo 2 cutscenes and see how 343i did a great job remastering this game. It’s funny to see you reacting to the arbiter cutscene and think that “arbiter” is the armor only😂
With more recent info that came from short clips released by 343 the line "do you know how expensive this is son?" Hits harder as you know that many people sacrificed themselves to work even during glassing of the planet their own to get the materials needed to make the new armor for master chief. No price can be put on that set of armor as many sacrifed themselves to ensure it was completed.
@@GamerJoobChannel He's not in a ton of the game, more as a background character unlike the Arbiter, but I think he has one of the best Cutscenes in the entire game! ruclips.net/video/TQi4hDz0s9E/видео.html
15:42 Not actually. Although a number of skyscrapers did fall along with the space elevator, nearly 80% of the city was intact, until the glassing of course.
Also if you can find it, theres a deleted scene from when the scarab destroyed the pelicans when they came down to earth. its just a bunch of marines holding off the covenant on the beach they die, but while playing you find their bodies and the pelican on the beach

Just realised the prophet of regret regretted coming to Earth, Master Chief showed mercy on the prophet of mercy by squishing that flood squid thing, and the arbiter kills the prophet and truth because he’s chatting absolute shit
Regret was also unrepentantly reckless, charging in on his own toward Earth and then Delta Halo. Mercy was a bloodthirsty old misanthrope, and Truth, _well._ He knew the score, which was why he took off in the Forerunner dreadnaught.
I've played through the Halo 2 campaign so many times back on the OG Xbox. Will always be one of my fondest memories as a kid. Despite all the launch issues that MCC had (which are more or less fixed so the game is playable now), Halo 2 Anniversary makes me so happy because the new graphics (especially the Blur cutscenes) make the game look and feel exactly the way I imagined it in my head when I first played the original.
So much nostalgia and memories from when I first played these games. Love your channel and I get to re live those first time moments again through you( your first time playing these games) and yes it’s pretty cool you get to switch from the old school and new graphics. Keep up the good vibes and you got a new fan/sub. Can’t wait for more.
Growing up playing this game endlessly and seeing it given a full cinematic remaster honestly gets me teary eyed by it's epic scale. The original captured it so well I thought at the time but seeing it re-imagined blows my mind each time. It's such a beautiful game.
I never played the original release! But Halo 2 i my favourite in the series and a big part is due to how the story is told! Blur did such an amazing job!
@@GamerJoobChannel They really did. It's also interesting how well the original voice and music hold up. It all feels surprisingly cohesive. My only nitpick is the remaster replaced a Breaking Benjamin song that plays during the campaign. It's still there if you switch back so not a big deal. lol
Something you could do is react a couple cutscenes of CE and Halo 2 in classic mode to see the graphics comparisons as the cutscenes are slightly different in parts as well
15:30 That moment when the In Amber Clad chases the Covenant Carrier through the slipspace portal is also seen in Halo 3: ODST's opening cinematic. As you're dropping from orbit into the first mission, you see the carrier about to jump, and if you look at *just* the right moment, you can see the In Amber Clad catching it as it goes though, right before the slipspace rupture blows your pod and everyone else's off-course.
I can see why this game is the best. U get to play both Chief and Arbiter. And u get to see Arbiter story and how he became a favorite in future Halo games.
Just an FYI for the anniversary edition: The very first cutscene you saw with Spartan Locke (blue visor) and the gold elite is brand new and is NOT part of Halo 2. It was added to help set up the story for Halo 5. A prequel of sorts. Our golden elite is actually our good friend Arbiter, who essentially pimped his armor from that silver color to gold. That first cutscene also is part of a TV commercial in which Arbiter delivers a line in regards to Master Chief "The seeds of our future are sown in his path". I'll find it and link it likely. One more little tid bit. The Covenant is a collective of different species. So the Brutes wanting to eat Arbiter (wasn't Arbiter yet, but still) would not be cannibalism. The members of the Covenant are as follows: Elites, which includes Arbiter Brutes, AKA big monke Grunts, AKA cone heads Jackals, AKA the source of fear on legendary difficulty Hunter, AKA big meanies as well as the Scarabs, AKA forbidden gummy worms Drones, AKA flying dudes And the Prophets, of which since they don't exactly appear as anything more than political members in game, also have the official title of old meat sacks. The have official names. For example, the elites are formally known as the Sangheli, from the planet Sanghelios.
The story writing this game. The Gravemind has a guilty-spark - 0-5 so using its Forunner teleport ability isn't a bad use of semi plot hole without explanation...
I hope you rewatched these scenes now that you have beaten the games Jade. Since you now have better context, you can better understand how amazingly crafted all of the cut-scenes were.
I like the difference in the beginning cinematic, chief being congratulated for his accomplishments and thel being punished for his failures. Both doing the right thing, but two very different outcomes.
That is so true! I love the contrast between their stories! It is so good! Halo 2 genuinely made me such a fan of the series! The Arbiter is a great character!
oh man... with 4:57 I can't prevent myself from laughing any time I hear this line any more cos of fricking Installation00 :'D any time he's playing Halo with a friend of his and they're looking at the engineering of the stuff you see (Like how the ships are designed, or the material the Covenant use), at random points 00 will start saying the line, but it's the meme version where as it goes on, the line gets progressively louder. So it start out normal like in the actual cutscene and ends up progressing to "DO YOU KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE THIS GEAR IS, SON?!" :'D I just lose it every time lol
Totally understand that! I think if someone had told me prior I would have been like like ehhh! But the character and story so well! Such a great game and story!
Is it bad that I can recite the gravemind's speech and my favorite line is still to this day: "Fate had us meet as foes, but this ring, will make us brothers"
Fun fact: Damian Poitier aka the guy you saw playing Sgt. Johnson in these cutscenes once worked in Captain America: Civil War. He is a stuntmant and he played Thanos in the post credit scene. He's most famous for his role as Chains in the game Payday 2
I like how she kept saying "That's hot." It seems no matter the scenario nowadays, the fictional characters are always more attractive than real people, in more than one aspect.

Fun Fact if you didn't know already: The Elite in the white armor with Arbiter is Shipmaster from Halo 3, and this is when they met!
Ohhh right! I dont remember him much in 3!
@@GamerJoobChannel He's not in a ton of the game, more as a background character unlike the Arbiter, but I think he has one of the best Cutscenes in the entire game!

15:42 Not actually. Although a number of skyscrapers did fall along with the space elevator, nearly 80% of the city was intact, until the glassing of course.
11:50 What the heck? I wasn´t expecting that but i'm glad you recorded because that should be on your gag reel.
Also if you can find it, theres a deleted scene from when the scarab destroyed the pelicans when they came down to earth. its just a bunch of marines holding off the covenant on the beach they die, but while playing you find their bodies and the pelican on the beach
I love the designs of the Covenant ships!
They are very cool!
Loving your reactions!!! Keep them coming, it’s great to see someone new to the franchise who’s so invested in the story. You will enjoy Halo 3 😊 (if you haven’t already)
Thank you so much!
I have played 3! I have actually played them all!
All of the playthroughs are up on the channel 😊
Aw sweet, I’ll look them up. What was your favourite?
@@samuelrakic6924 Halo 2 was my fav! Reach was a close second 😊
Awesome, same as me. Good job, looking forward to future vids 👍🏻
32:06 the phantom is flying backwards lol
32:05 Seeing the phantom flying backwards never gets old
At Blur Studios:
Quality Control: "Uh, guys, don't panic."
The rest of the room: "Okay?"
Quality Control: "We just.. uh, discovered that there was a _slight_ problem with one of the Halo 2 cutscenes we remastered."
Some guy: *chuckles* "I'm sure it's fine."
Quality Control: "Uh, well, everyone's been making fun of it."
*coordinated spitting of liquids*
"WHAT?!"
"WHAT'S THE SCENE?"
"HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!"
"wHY DIDN'T YOU *[Expletive]* TELL US SOONER?!!!"
Quality Control: *projects the video*
Quality Control: "The phantom was flying backwards. BACKWARDS."
The Animation Team: *collective facepalming*
That's what happens when you let brutes fly the phantom.
Awh man I was looking forward to Johnson saying “If god is love, then you can call me Cupid”. The best line ever
I love how ODST and Halo 2 are connected
It such a cool tie in!
Both such great games as well!
Loved this so much and love you spartan outfit
Thank you 😊
22:42 I like how you noticed that small detail where the Arbiter crashes the same way Master Chief did in CE!
Master Chief destroying an entire Covenant cruiser with a single bomb
Sergeant Johnson: "THAT STILL ONLY COUNTS AS ONE!"
It would be really cool if you reacted to the og cutscenes
That would be fun!
Great video. I always enjoy Jade's reactions.
Thank you!!😊
"You look nice."
"Thanks." "Thank you."
*Looks at each other*
lmao I love Chief and Johnson's dynamic.
Ron Pearlman's best nonchalant 2 word line ever: "Permission Granted"
Are you wearing some sort of master chief suit? 🤣 I love it! Great reaction
I think the two Gravemind quotes “I am a monument of all your sins” and “there is still time to stop the key from turning” give me the most chills
Ayye the cutscenes!! God they look amazing!
yes!
The do look incredible!
It's still there if you switch back so not a big deal. lol
26:35 It is an action figure. In the original cutscene (depending on difficulty) it would be playing with two different action figures.
Something you could do is react a couple cutscenes of CE and Halo 2 in classic mode to see the graphics comparisons as the cutscenes are slightly different in parts as well
I swapped back and forth a small bit in this video!
But it would be cool to do that in the future 😊
Me and a friend unironically turned "15 Covenant battleships" into a meme/inside joke on the same level as detroits stab wounds meme.
I just wish 343 had gone back and actually finished the game and balanced it so the actual gameplay would match the new cutscenes.
"Ladies love Tanks."
No.
Bitches Love Cannons.
I can see why this game is the best. U get to play both Chief and Arbiter. And u get to see Arbiter story and how he became a favorite in future Halo games.
I love the story in 2!
You should react to the alternate versions of the cutscene where Johnson gives Chief a tank.
Johnson's lines vary depending on the difficulty.
I did know about that! I have already seen them! It is cool haha!
The members of the Covenant are as follows:
Elites, which includes Arbiter
Brutes, AKA big monke
Grunts, AKA cone heads
Jackals, AKA the source of fear on legendary difficulty
Hunter, AKA big meanies as well as the Scarabs, AKA forbidden gummy worms
Drones, AKA flying dudes
And the Prophets, of which since they don't exactly appear as anything more than political members in game, also have the official title of old meat sacks.
The have official names. For example, the elites are formally known as the Sangheli, from the planet Sanghelios.
Chief: "Im not just any brick, im a badass and really easy to fly brick."
The story writing this game. The Gravemind has a guilty-spark - 0-5 so using its Forunner teleport ability isn't a bad use of semi plot hole without explanation...
1:26 Because noone knew from H5 already that MC is who Locke is hunting...
Took me a second to figure out what you meant by Lilo & Stitch, but now I can’t unsee it. XD
Imagine seeing this onee BIG SCREEN as it were a movie. should be fun
Oh that would be awesome!
I want a Halo movie haha!
"boo" -master chief 2552
I hope you rewatched these scenes now that you have beaten the games Jade. Since you now have better context, you can better understand how amazingly crafted all of the cut-scenes were.
I have!
I love the added context with the gravemind and everything with the Arbiter! The story only gets stronger once you beat 3!
When I first saw the bomb scene it gave me chills. When I saw it with anniversary graphics, I climaxed. What I wouldn’t do to relive that day.
She secretly has the hots for Master Cheif
ya girl a big Arbiter fan!
But Chief is cool too haha!
@@GamerJoobChannel Yeah he is! I hope he appears in Infinite.
i really love Halo just as much as you, i listen to the soundtracks daily for school...
I wish I could wipe my memory and playthrough the Halo games for the first time again, the nostalgia really makes me sad now im older
oh man... with 4:57 I can't prevent myself from laughing any time I hear this line any more cos of fricking Installation00 :'D any time he's playing Halo with a friend of his and they're looking at the engineering of the stuff you see (Like how the ships are designed, or the material the Covenant use), at random points 00 will start saying the line, but it's the meme version where as it goes on, the line gets progressively louder. So it start out normal like in the actual cutscene and ends up progressing to "DO YOU KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE THIS GEAR IS, SON?!" :'D I just lose it every time lol
5:27
Johnson must hate the sight of green.
(Halo 3 reference to those who cycle the difficulties)
I honestly thought I would hate playing as Arbiter but his story is hooked me more
Totally understand that! I think if someone had told me prior I would have been like like ehhh!
But the character and story so well! Such a great game and story!
14:10 Ah yes ladies do love tanks. That reminds me of a man that one said quote, “Get that b*tch a cannon, b*tches love cannons.”
Dude, this is the first video I'm watching on her channel and I just LOVE HEARING HER SAY "That's Hot".
I love your Halo UNSC Spartan costume Gamerjoob! It’s so cool!😊👍🏻
2:18 Yeah, it is epic. But not as epic as never actually following through on this entire exchange in Halo 5 because they botched the damn story
The beginning of the arbiter cutcene all I could think of was the slap his nuts meme
Bro 💀💀💀
