Well they're pre rendered like a movie. Personally I'm not a fan. They changed a lot of cool camera angles, and it's too different from the actual graphics for me to get full enjoyment.
Exactly my thought. Halo 2's campaign is probably my favorite in all Halo games. I remember seeing Halo 2's real-time rendered cutscenes for the first time and couldn't believe it.

Then a Spartan comes along, Johnson arrives with a tank and gives you some motivating words and you start thinking that maybe, just maybe, things will work out. Only a few seconds later, that supersoldier supposed to save the day starts shouting "where is the tank?" while standing right next to it. That poor marine's morale has to be lower than ever before :D
38:13 The scene where arbiter crashes at climbs up is in reference of chief doing the same thing in the first game. There’s an amazing contrast at the first cinematic between chief getting commended and medals and the arbiter losing his rank. Shows both sides of the war. Really well directed.

This is why Halo 2 is my favorite storyline. The way the cutscenes flowed showing the duality of both protagonists is godlike. The cutscenes are so engaging.
My fav one is at 33:40 the grunt say : "I have a bad feeling about this" and the other one say : "you always have bad feeling" a mirror dialogue from when Keys enter the flood lab in Halo 1 and meet for the first time the flood with his soldiers

I feel like it needs expanded or extended campaign, which actually includes the two co-op Elites, and more of the Arbiter's personal battles.
Halo 2 Remastered graphics are such an improvement compared to Halo CE. It seems they saw the mistakes they made with CE, and didn't make the same mistakes with this game.
Dark Zhiro That's mainly because they just used a ton of resources from Reach in it and while it does technically make sense that the art style would look like that given it took place literal days after Reach, it really made Halo CE not look like CE...
Language and Programming Channel There are some minor things that look completely different, the Warthog and the SMG for example but overall, they did a good job.

I don’t remember too much about Mass Effect but I think I remember the elevator rides being so slow, there was straight up news reels talking about politics or war or whatever. So you just stood there listening to “It seems like the spice trade from Earth to the Citadel has risen since the last 15 years.” That’s what I remember from this.

Man I can’t express how much I enjoy how much you enjoy Halo 2 so far. I grew up with this game and remember playing the campaign over and over it was just such an amazing experience and to see it remastered is beyond words. Also I love the music and design and storyline of Halo 2 so much it is by far my favorite Halo of them all. Really glad to see these kinds of videos. I grew up on halo, played every halo. I'm 19 now and since I could play any game halo has always been my favorite. Fills me with so much joy and glee to see you flabbergasted over the halo series. Every shocking moment, every stunning visual, and every game changing aspect they add. From Reach to here, I hope you go through all the halos and I would love to see how you react to the games I have always cherished.
That drop pod entrance can't be topped! Even having played Halo 1-5 and both halo Wars games, that entrance is still the best, by far! It's pure epicness!

Every time I see the Cairo Station ending cutscene, I feel like I’m 5 years old playing Halo 2 for the first time all over again. It never fails to entrance me. Time fucking flies, man.
Here's my hot-take: I think that the original cutscenes (for the intro+ right before the Covenant show up around Earth at least) are slightly better directed. The transitions between Arbiter and Master Chief happen quicker (with a less sudden white-out, instead of a bunch of drawn out black out), the camera doesn't show Truth until he starts speaking, there's that nice first transition from Truth to Earth's Moon. Sometimes, less really is more.
jason freeman I’m not even talking about quality, everything in 5 looks kind of cartoon like. The first cutscene especially has that feel. Maybe it’s just because of the art style or my preference but 5 looks significantly worse than 2 or halo wars 2

Enjoy my guy, the original trilogy is one of the richest campaign experiences in the genre of FPS. I hate to be that guy but 343 couldn’t nail it as good as bungie, bungie left 434 in a really tough place to pick up where they left off. But halo 5 oh boy... anyways, I’m glad you are enjoying halo.
Yeah and 343 story telling isn't as good and its too complicated if you don't know the lore. But if you are very familiar with all the lore halo 4 and 5 was still pretty good. Bungie made it where any Halo games could be your first and you still kinda knew what was happening. Idk what happened with bungies destiny story 🤦
There are soooo many details in those campaigns, especially this one! For example all the little jokes and references to other timestamps in halo's lore... Also the places you go, for example: Later on in the campaign when you're in high charity (the holy city of the covenant ), you're walking around in exactly that place, where the arbiter got his trial and got his armor taken off. You really - *and I cannot stress this enough* - need to go trough all this campaigns more than just once and listen very well to all the hiddenxperia videos! This franchise is so insane

I also wanna just take the time to express how amazing it’s been seeing you play through the games and dive into the Halo universe for the first time. As a long time fan of the series myself it’s wonderful to see. Your reactions, your enthusiasm, just the way you get excited about the universe and characters brings a comforting warmth to my heart that I personally felt myself when I was growing up playing these games, it puts a smile on my face. I played Halo CE for the first time when I was 7 in 2005 (I was born in 1998 and yeah I know I was definitely young for a mature game like that but still I loved every minute), then over the next seven to eight years I was addicted to the series. I remember spending consecutive days playing Halo 2 trying to complete it on legendary and playing split screen with my brother, or when we got an Xbox 360 in 2008 near the release of Halo 3 and experiencing the hype around it. I remember the community and doing system links games at friend’s houses, spending hours in forge mode building and creating the most absurd maps and concepts all while laughing over the mic till 3am. We spent hours in coop campaign whilst helping each other, betraying each other for fun or just stupid gags and later would get the squad together to play competitively. I’m sure you can tell by reading this comment that I have a really strong emotional attachment to this series, it’s helped me through some of my darkest moments especially during my later formative teen years after Reach and Halo 4 came out. I turn 22 this year and it’s wild to look back on all the memories. I know this comment has been quite long but I just wanted to share my story, your videos made me remember those memories, experiences and feelings I felt back then and your love for this series has sparked open that part of my mind for reflection in a very positive manner, watching you play is like looking in a mirror. Love these videos. The unbridled joy Dee Bee has playing these games for the first time is something I will always cherish about Halo. It's great that we get to go along with him on his first ever journey through the amazing story that Halo is. He's the true lucky one though. He gets to experience Halo for the first time all these years later, and share the same excitement and emotions all of us veterans did back in the day. We get to live those emotions again vicariously through Dee Bee. LOVE IT!

DeeBeeGeek, if you switch from remastered to original, the sounds for weapons are different, especially for the "thingy"
I prefer most of the remastered sounds tbh. except the hunter cannon. That is sooo much worse in remastered.

Man I can’t express how much I enjoy how much you enjoy Halo 2 so far. I grew up with this game and remember playing the campaign over and over it was just such an amazing experience and to see it remastered is beyond words. Also I love the music and design and storyline of Halo 2 so much it is by far my favorite Halo of them all. The opening bomb scene is probably my favorite cutscene in any game. That shit was so awesome in 2004 and the remaster just makes it that much more beautiful

Every time I see the Cairo Station ending cutscene, I feel like I’m 5 years old playing Halo 2 for the first time all over again. It never fails to entrance me. Time fucking flies, man.
Here's my hot-take: I think that the original cutscenes (for the intro+ right before the Covenant show up around Earth at least) are slightly better directed. The transitions between Arbiter and Master Chief happen quicker (with a less sudden white-out, instead of a bunch of drawn out black out), the camera doesn't show Truth until he starts speaking, there's that nice first transition from Truth to Earth's Moon. Sometimes, less really is more.
I prefer all of the original cutscenes. I wish we could have just gotten the same in-game cutscenes just with the new graphics

jason freeman I’m not even talking about quality, everything in 5 looks kind of cartoon like. The first cutscene especially has that feel. Maybe it’s just because of the art style or my preference but 5 looks significantly worse than 2 or halo wars 2

Enjoy my guy, the original trilogy is one of the richest campaign experiences in the genre of FPS. I hate to be that guy but 343 couldn’t nail it as good as bungie, bungie left 434 in a really tough place to pick up where they left off. But halo 5 oh boy... anyways, I’m glad you are enjoying halo.
343 was left in a tight spot and i understand peoples frustration with 343 but the ones the left should have stayed with the game longer.
Yeah and 343 story telling isn't as good and its too complicated if you don't know the lore.
But if you are very familiar with all the lore halo 4 and 5 was still pretty good.
Bungie made it where any Halo games could be your first and you still kinda knew what was happening.

There are soooo many details in those campaigns, especially this one! For example all the little jokes and references to other timestamps in halo's lore... Also the places you go, for example: Later on in the campaign when you're in high charity (the holy city of the covenant ), you're walking around in exactly that place, where the arbiter got his trial and got his armor taken off.
You really - *and I cannot stress this enough* - need to go trough all this campaigns more than just once and listen very well to all the hiddenxperia videos!

First and foremost I want to say that your content has been awesome, I recently discovered you in the past month and it’s been a breath of fresh air in the community of gaming videos and content. I also wanna just take the time to express how amazing it’s been seeing you play through the games and dive into the Halo universe for the first time. As a long time fan of the series myself it’s wonderful to see. Your reactions, your enthusiasm, just the way you get excited about the universe and characters brings a comforting warmth to my heart that I personally felt myself when I was growing up playing these games, it puts a smile on my face. I played Halo CE for the first time when I was 7 in 2005 (I was born in 1998 and yeah I know I was definitely young for a mature game like that but still I loved every minute), then over the next seven to eight years I was addicted to the series. I remember spending consecutive days playing Halo 2 trying to complete it on legendary and playing split screen with my brother, or when we got an Xbox 360 in 2008 near the release of Halo 3 and experiencing the hype around it. I remember the community and doing system links games at friend’s houses, spending hours in forge mode building and creating the most absurd maps and concepts all while laughing over the mic till 3am. We spent hours in coop campaign whilst helping each other, betraying each other for fun or just stupid gags and later would get the squad together to play competitively. I’m sure you can tell by reading this comment that I have a really strong emotional attachment to this series, it’s helped me through some of my darkest moments especially during my later formative teen years after Reach and Halo 4 came out. I turn 22 this year and it’s wild to look back on all the memories. I know this comment has been quite long but I just wanted to share my story, your videos made me remember those memories, experiences and feelings I felt back then and your love for this series has sparked open that part of my mind for reflection in a very positive manner, watching you play is like looking in a mirror. Thank you for your content and I’m happy you finally get around to enjoying this series to its fullest. Good luck, fellow Spartan.

It's great that we get to go along with him on his first ever journey through the amazing story that Halo is. He's the true lucky one though.
