Jun died protectecting Dr. Halsey so she can escape. It's a background message in the extended version of the game and shown in the comic Fistful of Arrows.
Just an fyi, the very first mission of Halo is called "The Pillar of Autumn" so longtime players felt massive feels when the last mission happened in Reach.

Just the thing I love about this game: everything you're doing is for nothing, you're just one step behind... You're not winning in this game, that part is for the master chief saga. But for him being a badass winner, team noble had to lose first. The thing everybody should have felt when playing this campaign for the first time.

Brian Yeah, apparently it's supposed to be there, it's glitched or something, and 343 never got around to fixing it. Here's hoping it gets fixed when it comes to PC.
@@nonocon0618 I know there is a glitch that if you start the mission on Anniversary graphics and then change back some decals wont appear, but what i was meaning is that the blood on the elevators on the flood mission is barely noticiable in anniversary graphics compared to original.

Fun fact, the elite that killed Dee at 28:24 (and right after he respawned) was a specialist elite that was hunting noble team throughout the campaign. He was also the one who killed Kat from the phantom.
[he is special in game because he is the only enemy that can change his weapon, at 28:34 he swapped to a sword when Dee got close]

DeeBeeGeek, Halo Wars 2 should be last on your list before Infinite and I recommend to actually play that one, it’s an awesome campaign to play, and Halo Wars 2 takes place after Halo 5

Yes, in halo 3 odst, in the last mission there is a line of dialogue in which buck says "repeat the reach" and veronica responds "you left there and you will leave this"
Reach is by far the most powerful game I have ever played. Right next to the original. This was the perfect going out for Bungie. The best story by far. The music. The visuals. I still go back and play this game to this day.
Dee Bee lovin all the Halo Content as of recent, but with all this Halo and space awesomeness. It reminds me of another franchise.. One which is just about on par with Halo. That Franchise is Mass Effect! I would love to see you do a reacts to all the trailers and maybe even a run through of the games! Keep doing your thing brother! PS... Don't let Kat Drive.

If there’s one thing that I do envy of you, it’s that you get to experience this journey for the first time. It’s new to you, you’re experiencing all of this for the first time. But if there’s one thing that I can say? Hell yes, will I be with you every step of the way on this journey. Can't wait for CE. The last couple of missions and the importance of the AI, Captain Keyes and the Pillar of Autumn will become so much clearer once you've begun playing that. I hope you found and Xbox to play it on :)
The only two times I cried in Halo. This and the the teaser trailer when master chief is rescued and the old music and classic shield start up and look came back.
I like that throughout the video he says “this war is pointless”, even though the entire war is a fight against annihilation, with the enemy wanting human genocide. Love the video.

If you read the lore about the Lone Wolf mission it states that Noble 6 has fought the Covenant on planet Reach for a couple of days if it isnt weeks or even months. The game lets you think he is only there for just a moment but actually 6 is fighting for a way longer period of time then you should think. Also he was aware of him being defeated ( the intro scene or lone wolf ) because he almost ran out of ammo and allies ( the spartan corpes around him ) and he eventually knew it was a lost cause.

Buck mentioned when you needed to escort his phantom, is a playable character in halo 3 odst and a halo 5 playable character
so many connections there!
Fun fact, the elite zealot field marshal that escaped from you in the first mission is the same one that kills kat and is the elite that has the energy sword when noble six goes to the MAC gun after Emile's death

This guy got hit with every emotion all at once I did the first time playing it was the best I’ll always remember halo reach I’ll never forget the game
I don't throw likes or comments around but this was an experience for me even as someone who has played halo for years, the amount of detail you put into this vid makes me so happy and all dem sad moments really got me thanks for the awesome reactions and gameplay.
I enjoyed Reach's campaign, but that game really was always about the custom games. You should download some of the popular maps and game modes, maybe do a custom games with viewers video? There is another youtuber named ispiteful who does that and on the master chief collection you can file share those custom games through his profile, if you decide to try it here are some classics that come to mind:

apparently the lore behind Emile's helmet is each scratch he made on his helmet was one of his kills, so all he killed enough people/covenant to scratch a skull into his helmet... Yeah, Emile is a fucking badass, and his death will always get me.

Halo Reach was so underrated. The story was bold, and the music of Bungie Halo games are beyond compare.
The end credits of Halo 3 still make me cry to this day... 10 years later.
Long story short, this game takes place before Halo: Combat Evolved (the first game in the series). It's a prequel and the ending cutscene, with the Pillar of Autumn escaping, leads directly into the first cutscene of Combat Evolved
Honestly, Kat’s death pissed me off the most. I really liked her :(
The one who hurt me the most was Emile, not only because he was the last of our team, but because just before the cutscene, he sometimes said "For Jorges/Kat/Carter !!" while shooting the gun... you could ear the despair in his voice, this adds so much emotion, since Emile was acting all the time like a big boy, seing him like that in his last moments truly is heartbreaking

It’s an experience playing through any halo campaign for yourself. But for some reason, I find it a completely different experience going through it with someone who has not played through it. Thank you for this.
Her shields were down due to the radiation, which allowed for the needle to pass straight through her skull like a 50 cal passes through wood.
Just to add an interesting factor into the ending of this story. The Pillar of Autumn I believe was among the last naval ship left in the region. Capt. Keyes I believe had a relationship with Halsey which is probably why he stayed behind for her work. Her idea to save humanity. Not only that but her favorite Spartan John 117, was also housed in this vessel. John was classified as Hyper Lethal Vector. The only other Spartan with this classification was Noble 6. Who was “chosen.. by an A.I.” to deliver the package (said half of cortana). And was also taken note by Dr. Halsey for his classification of HLV before the events of reach.
A splendid plot line Bungie. Especially to leave the end of your work with a game that takes it to the very beginning.
Edit: I know this all very loosely connected, don’t take this seriously.
Seeing that 2589 year mark at the end sent shivers down my spine. it just shows that no matter how many challenges humanity faced, they prevailed and garnered the mantle of responsibility.
In case you didn’t catch it, at 19:30 Halsey’s escort is being told to kill her if it looks like she’s going to be captured. She knows way too much to be allowed to be interrogated by the Covenant.
The blast took down cats shields and when the elite shot her in the head with a needler rifle it killed he instantly

The only survivor from Noble team is Jun. Hist story still continues but not as a Spartan. He goes to train soldiers and Spartan 4s. He retires before chiefs passing.

The Buck thing was not a nod to Halo 3, it was a nod to Halo 3: ODST which is different than Halo 3
Friendly reminder that Kat's death via headshot and having no shields was never explained by Bungie, they just wanted to catch players off guard with shock value.
The canonical reason for why her shields failed was only explained years after by 343
Yeah......nope. You can clearly see an EMP blast that deplates noble team's armor - theres nothing to explain
@@maxim196 except there was, Bungie had been asked about it and they said they didn't have a physical reason for it in the canon. They said they did it for dramatic effect. It wasn't until later there was a physical reason for it explained by 343, and Bungie during production were very on again off again about what was and wasn't explained in lore due many factors
Halo is the best game series ever made, and it brings me such joy watching you react to it so well.
I highly recommend reading the original novel, Fall of Reach, if you ever get the chance. The whole thing is just so sad. The latest version of the book has edits to make it play nice with the game. Bungie always had a Game trumps Expanded Universe Material view, so to them the book may as well have been non-canon, only because they wanted to make a game that didn't need to pay too much attention to the existing story. So when 343 Industries took over they went back into the novel and made some edits so the two worked together. It's still sort of held together with duct tape, but at least they made an attempt.
For those who don’t know, the Human-Covenant war casualty rates for humanity was 32 billion dead and a countless amount wounded or MIA

The quality of a game is not dependant of the system it's exclusively for. It's dependant of the developers.
PC, PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo etc. They all have great games, the system is just a way to get to the games.
As long as people argue about which system is the best, content-wise none is better than the other. They all have amazing games with wonderful stories and/or gameplay.
It's only a matter of specs but it shouldn't even bother that many people since the difference in performance on different systems is minimal in most games. It's only those who can't stand to play on 30 FPS who switch from console to PC but for me personally it's not a problem at all to play on a framerate between 30 and 60.
System wars or console wars are unnecessary in my opinion. Just play on whatever system you want to play on.
One problem for us consumers is nonetheless that we can't get our hands on any game we want since a lot of them are exclusives but that's a marketing strategy especially by Sony where one can hope that they find a different way to get us to buy PlayStation products.
I wish 343 didn't remove the message of Bungie during the Pillar of Autumn cutscene. It would've been incredible to see his reaction to it.
Very fulfilling to see Reach revered by a PlayStation Player who feels critical of games. Reach is still my unwavering no.1 game...of all time ;)

I lasted like 5-10 minutes. Mainly because at that point, a few missions prior I ended up just becoming Doomguy, just ripping enemies to pieces with my hands, even the giant shield covenant. None were spared, even Elites ran in fear. (seriously, I ran at an elite at some point and it started backing away firing wildly and jumping away) Even when I was horribly outmatched at the end, with easily a dozen ultra and zealot elites on me, I managed to rip and tear until I had halved their number.
I remember watching this stream and pogging so hard when you said you were gonna play CE in classic graphics

The saddest halo reach is so sad is because everybody dies, right? No. The Saddest part of Halo Reach is the irony.
Jorge for a big man who wanted to die on reach, His death meant so little and he died in space.
Kat despite all of her battle awareness never saw the Covenant Sniper coming.
Carter, the leader who was willing to do anything for his team, Died helping his team without knowing if they made it.
June, The Loyal sniper who was ready to die on reach, Was ordered to leave reach and was the only one to live.
Emile was the one who could take all that stood infront of him, yet he died by a energy sword to the back.
And Noble 6, Despite Abandoning his past, Went right back to it and Died as a lone wolf. Atleast he got the good ending, Knowing he had completed his mission.
And apparently, According to lore, In the lone wolf mission. Noble 6 lasted 3 WHOLE DAYS STRAIGHT by HIMSELF against an ENTIRE GOD DANG COVENANT FLEET. Before the Fatigue finally slowed him down and he was over run and died.
Spartans never die, they're just missing.

Edit: This is a saying found throughout the Halo Saga. This came to being around when the Covenant first appeared. At this time the Covenant were thought to be invincible, leading to low morale among the military. It took the sacrifice of one of the first Spartans (Spartan II to be exact) to destroy a Covenant battle ship. One of the very first victories against the Covenant.
Since then Spartans were listed MIA despite being confirmed KIA. This was to boost the morale of the Military, since many in the Military viewed the Spartans as invincible themselves.
I just finished playing Reach a few months back, what an ending.

Most Spartans on Reach fought to the very end. Few survivors but the sacrifice was not in vain. Halo 2 and 3 will show you what made it so.
