- Over four months ago I transcribed the lyrics to this song, though never ended up making a video out of it. Well, after many requests, the time has finally come, for we are finally rolling home to old New England.
This version of the traditional New England sea shanty was recorded in 2002 by The Revels Chorus.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

My beautiful homeland! No matter how beautiful anywhere else in the world is, she's the prettiest place in the world!!!
Currently visiting New England from Minnesota. I love MN and don't plan to leave but dammit if forced to I would look east to New England. Gorgeous scenery and so much history. Within the last few days, I have seen seals frolicking in Cape Cod, whales diving out at sea, gorgeous lighthouses up in Maine etc. etc.
Absolutely!! 🫡
Cheers from italy. i am deeply fascinated by new england for some reason, it's the perfect blend of american and european vibes, Amazing nature and tranquil small town lifestyle. I'd love to visit.
I’m a New Englander and this comment makes me so happy
I'm from New England and did a study abroad semester in Italy. Your country reminded me of home too. 💕
Thanks from Massachusetts! I may not be Italian, but I’ve heard your country is great!
new england is one of the most beautiful places on earth tbh
As a native born New Englander of NH now living far from home. This song make me want to roll home to Old New England. Love it!
New England has a way of bringing people home. Visit home the leaves are changing. New england always comes alive in the fall.
@@matts1451 It really does, such a beautiful place in the fall
@@megaemperor3362 You will always be a new englander where ever you are in the world!
To the Greatest Region of the USA. God Save England and New England
Hurrah for the New England!
If New England was a country, this would be the National Anthem.
One day one day
Nah, Chester would be. This would be New England’s equivalent to "Anchors Aweigh” or “The Crew is One Family.”
@@ninyaninjabrifsanovichthes45 I agree.
It is a country! Just not a sovereign state.

For New England
I grew up a stone's throw from Narragansett Bay, and this just absolutely was a delight to hear. No matter where I go, I'll always be rolling home to Old New England! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Only a person from New England would say a stone throws away. Lol
Also I didn't mean for that to be offensive . I am also a native New Englander
Grew up in Rockingham County In southern NH. I love New England!!!
@@generalhanz9421 no worries! And you're absolutely right! Us New Englanders are wicked smaht! :)
@@simontemplar3359 nobody here says wicked, and everybody says their Rs. You are _NOT_ from New England.
as a Mainer this is a beautiful song
Rhode Islander, proud to be a New Englander!

cheers from your neighbors in bristol county
CHEERS FROM WEST GREENWICH, RI my Brothers!!
Proud Massachusetts kid here!
@@simontemplar3359 I used to live in Coventry, very close to Nathanael Greene Homestead. I miss it, a quaint little town.
New England is my happy home at the center of the Free World
I’m from Connecticut btw
I can imagine some American Privateers singing this as they are heading home from attacking British ships in the Revolutionary War. Perhaps after Britain surrendered the colonies, and they are about to return to a home that is truly theirs - to govern how they see fit.
Born in Boston but live far away. But once a New Englander, always a New Englander!
BASE!!!!D
Played this today as I drove from my new home of Maine to my old home of Connecticut, love all the New England content!
If i die onboard the ship this the song i want them to sing when i get thrown in the water
This channel is so underrated
Awesome! I love sea shanties, so I definitely look forward to seeing more of those! ^-^
makes me love my home that bit more, Massachusetts born.
I first heard this song on the educational miniseries "The Voyage of the Mimi".
ooo neat!
Not a new englander but this is quite a tune.
Epic 10/10 I love Yes biggest fan
Hahaha wow 🤩 I never heard of this song 🎵, just wow!
New England is god's country
Yes
You could even say it's an appeal to heaven. (It says that on the old new englander naval flag)
Best part of the best country in the world
Seeing all these comments full of New English pride gives me hope that New England will, one day, be a independent nation.
Also, this is coming from a pride (yet not blind to the horrible deeds of the past, which were committed by my fellow countrymen) Southerner. Just wanted to let the Yankees know that even here, in the South, rebels support y'alls calls for freedom and sovereignty.
Yankees? You say? *angry Red Sox noises*
About 7 people in New England want to be independent. Its a foolish idea, and over all suicidal idea. I will always love my home of New England but my forefathers fought and died for the Union, not New England. Also by the way my southern friend there is no need to be hung up on the past, we may have fought for a few years but that does not nearly take away from all your region has done for us.
You can support the New England Independence Campaign if you like to see an independent New England
@@ChildAbductor Staying in the union is foolish at this point

I consider NY and NJ part of New England
They're both culturally different from us, and we don't accept them.

No, it’s part of the mid-Atlantic.
