Nova Scotia should be reunited eith its Fatherland Long live Nova scotia apart of our scottish celtic nation! The nova scotians shall beacome scottish again just like use scots 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
I live here. We don't really listen to our national anthem, instead, we listen to oh Canada. AND, in French. It directly translates to New Scotland. AND. We had the famous disaster of the "Halifax explosion" AND! The biggest ship in the world, "The Oasis Of The Sea" was once docked in the Halifax harbor. And now I just feel like a Nova Scotia nerd.
I left as an 8 month old in 1961, after my father, a young Naval Officer, passed away in service of Canada. He, too, was buried at sea. My husband brought me back in the summer of 2016, my first time back since, his first time there. It was great fun, staying in Lunenburg, and learning about my Godparents while visiting the Kentville Museum, lighthouse and beach exploring. This summer ports on our Boston to Montreal cruise we definitely plan to visit are Halifax and Sydney.
I moved there two years ago from Lebanon I called it home in two months I fell in love with the place unfortunately I have some issues back home planning to move back I love Halifax more than Lebanon
You probably have heard the popular Nova Scotia folk song , “Farewell To Nova Scotia” ( written by: Scotsman named , Robert Tannahill.) It is based on a Canadian adaptation of the Scottish lament, “The Soldier’s Adieu” and sung to the tune of “Good Night and God Be With Ye”. The name Nova Scotia is gaelic for “New Scotland.” ♥️
I love the Rovers, but I like the version from Catherine McKinnon, a fellow Maritimer from part of the region being sung about, best. Makes me actually tear up every time.
Love Nova Scotia, from old scotia.
Gaol a dh’Alba à Alba Nuadh!

im looking through my youtube watch history and find this, my mom was nova scotian and passed in this house, so i thought it was her soul!
I was lead to believe this was a Gordon Lightfoot tune. Learn something new every day. Nice.
He did sing it, but not the first and certainly not the last.
