A bear then started moving his way and he couldn't run from it because you can't outrun a bear hopping on one leg. so he quickly cut the other leg off at the ankle, same level as the other leg, so he was able to run on his stumps quicker than he could hop on one leg. He was able to avoid capture by the bear but he bled to death in his cabin. I have no idea what that has to do with this game but it just came to mind for some reason.

I have seen this game live, with commentary from GM's Daniel Naroditsky and Hou Yifan. Magnus' time management was really phenomenal. He went into really deep and time consuming thinks to bend a small disadvantage into a winning position while Fedoseef tried to move fast to keep time advantage. When they had reached move 40, Magnus had nearly used all of his time. But then they gained addititional time and after considering the situation, it was at that point Fedoseef resigned. That was the real good stuff...
This was more like an Alpha Zero game. A pawn and exchange sacrifice to leave black completely trapped until it desperately tries to give material back and then he goes for the kill.

Magnus could well even have walked his king all the way around to white king to say hello while white pieces just watched the show.
He couldn't have, is what the live commentators pointed out, when the white king reaches a6 u can push the c pawn and get discovered check.
