That end game by Magnus was just pure masterpiece as usual, kudos to Jonas as he played fearlessly and made sure this piece of art happens on the board. Great recap and anslysis Agad, appreciated.
Great video! How does white win after after he takes the rook on b2 and black plays Bc3? Does he need to take out the black pawn on a5 or what's the idea here?

Very resourceful play from Carlsen. I also realise from this game and other game examples that a protected passed pawn on the 7th rank (or 2nd rank if its a black pawn) is worth about 6 pawns. So in evaluating a position, this observation can be a useful guide.
Magnus played the same idea with the exchange sacrifice in a Pirc defense in a previous game and got a great position. In that previous game he also made some mistakes and maybe didn’t win it either
I feel like when black plays these slow types of openings the games make a lot more sense. All the “best” defenses for black just get to a certain point and then explode.

Kg2 gets out of check and protects the rook. If the queen takes the pawn on a4 then you can't stop checks from the white queen. Qb8+, Kg6, Qe5+, if King goes to f8 then Qh8 forces the king from behind the pawns leading to a check from the rook on e3. Anywhere the king goes, he is getting hunted down, all for the prices of a pawn when he is already in a losing position.

To almost pull off a victory against the highest rated player in the world is very solid work. Great game.
playing to win is more solid
He´s playing against Mr beast?
...to take back a move ("double-move") is the most underrated tactics in chess
Can’t believe Magnus held this to a draw… truly insane
It's very difficult to point out what went wrong as white was winning, but magnus is magnus at the end of the day 😅
Magnus getting blood from a stone
The pawns were the difference and the position and of course Magnus’s talent
Magnus did blunder but it was not one of those “no hope” type of blunders where it would be completely trivial to win.
Queen vs bishop and knight and two pawns are close to equal, it is winning for white but there is no clear cut how to win.

At 3:51 why black didn't took the pawn with the bishop ? Won't he win the one of the rocks after that
