Hikaru with no arms or legs:
"Alright, we'll call it a draw!"
😂 😂
It's just a flesh wound.
Tis but a scratch
Magnus probably realized how many times he hung mate or offered it by the time he offered a draw. He has a lot of respect for Hikaru so it makes sense.
4 months ago when I first watached this, this comment was not funny, now few days after watching the movie somehow I land back here to find this gem
Agad answering a phone call mid video is such an Agadamator moment 😂
Hahaha my man needs to learn how to edit 😂
Epic move😂😅😊
@@flyinfreeeeyes but then again he wouldnt upload those videos so fast :(
I concurr with that❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
@@flyinfreeee nah we like it that way😅
This rivalry between Hikaru and Magnus has made for some of the most exciting chess I've ever seen.
Carlsen accepting the draw offer like a true gentleman, paying the due respect to the five times in a row defending champion.
Didn't he offer the draw?
@@paulharris2331 I believe you’re right that Magnus offered the draw I googled and it’s pretty much what was stated
Naka did offer the draw but if you look at the position there is a very obvious perpetual. Carlsen in fact had a mate in 7 or something like that but he only needed a draw and the perpetual was right there. I think Naka even stated later that that is why he offered the draw, because he thought it was a perpetual. It was a pragmatic decision by Carlsen to accept the draw offer, not sure about gentlemanly. I have seen him refuse draw offers even when he had already won the tournament (not that I blame him for doing that - he has every right to try to maximize his tournament score).
@@jodymccullough5891 magnus offered it, it was a sure checkmate in 6-7 moves even if you played the best moves, anything else would be shorter checkmate, the king was wide open hounded by a queen and bishop, no chance
@@md.mohaiminulislam9618 I have seen multiple sources that said Naka offered the draw and Magnus accepted. In the end it is not worth arguing over too much. It is easy for us to sit and look at a position with all the time in the world and see a mate in 7, much harder scenario in the heat of the moment in a *bullet* game. Regardless of who offered, I would still say it was more pragmatism on Magnus's part. You could mess around and end up losing, especially in a bullet game and especially to Naka. So why would anyone with half a brain do that? Take the draw, take the match, take the tournament. Not really a lot to think about.
people think naka's the favourite in 1+1, forgetting that 1+1 and 1+0 are completely different. magnus has in fact won their last three 1+1 matches, including a dominating score of 7.5 to 2.5 in 2017.
For speed chess, I can't imagine a more exciting match up. The top two dishing it out like it was nothing.
Top 4.
@SonicMegaKing Hikaru also came up from what, 2740s? He had a spell a while back where he was dominating everyone, Magnus included for the first time. He may be #4 but it seems he's stronger than he's ever been
Please use the evacuation bar like everyone else. I stopped watching your channel because you don’t include that valuable teaching and learning tool. You are falling behind willingly because you’re stubborn.
Don't rely too much on the bar, the computer only plays the least losing moves for the most part@@isabellam1936
It was a very similar but a different checkmate.
- Agadmator 2024
Also: black is still sort of in the game but of course black will get checkmated very soon
Two speed demons blown everyone of us away, live on youtube , while Magnus saying after the match he is not satisfied by his performance and Hikaru literally livestreaming 3 hours after the game. This two are just playing Godly chess at the moment.. thanks for the recap Agad, been a wonderful SCC
By missing countless checkmates
@@pedroroque829show the 2 weakling how its done Mr. 2900

The double Rook sacrifice was crazy!
Great Video!😊
“This is the final match and most requested… hikaru needs a win to force tie break.” 😂
This million-subscriber madman answering his phone mid-video and not even pausing is an inspiration to all creators
Dude just straight up picked up a call during a video, amd we all just waited for him to finish. Boss move.
First chess I’ve watched live and didn’t know the game could be so exciting!
Careful now you're going to get hooked, there's no turning back
This was me in 2021 with WCC with Ian and Magnus. The game 6 made me obsessed with the game
Live from carlsen house or hikaru's?😂😂😂😂
Game 6 of the WCC was truly magical
@@makeperceivehe will have no social life too
Magnus offering a draw is a show respect for Hikrau.
I think it was Hikaru who offered the draw. Magnus just accepted it as it won him the match. It was a better option for Hikaru to offer a draw than to resign, as he knew Magnus would take it, and it meant only losing the match by one point rather than two.
Yeah Hikaru offered the draw
do you think if they switched sides, where hikaru is leading 13.0-12.0, and magnus offers that draw, would hikaru accept it?
Magnus accepting a draw I think 🤔 still shows absolute respect 🙂
@@subarashiistrawveri1160 No I dont think so, hikaru would have tried to humiliate magnus more. Tbh, anyone who thinks hikaru respects magnus is just madman, it is just magnus and his skills and his strong mind that tamed hikaru and turned him into a streamer.
There was never a rivalry it was mostly one sided dominance by magnus against hikaru until last few years where hikaru managed to win few tournaments.
God what a final game. Cannot believe hikaru didn’t spot rook a2, but understandable with the time and pressure situation
I'm sure if it's not Magnus, he'll spot 100%
He had 30 seconds or so at that point too, after he admitted he didn’t use his time well
@@skiba6566 Exactly. Major time issues or not.....even if he doesn't see that move, he would've seized an unstoppable advantage at some point during that end game (against anyone else). Choked it away cause it was a big win vs Magnus on the line
He had plenty of time. He was just caught up in the intensity of the moment. He definitely had that game in the bag had he just paused for 5 seconds and put the winning combination together. The momentum was just to fierce for him to tap the brakes. But yeah, he definitely had it.
He instantly doubled his rooks, but I knew Ra2+ forces tiebreaks. Naka had more than enough time to see it
Magnus is just separating himself from everyone else.... The GOAT of this era indeed!
PS. I enjoy the fanatics and haters arguing who's better than who 🤣
The GOAT of chess is Bobby Fischer
But yeah, in this era it is Magnus
The GOAT of all time
@@fernandovargasmejia740Bobby Fischer had no title defenses and his peak lasted like 2-3 years. Far from GOAT.
Kasporov and Magnus played 3 generations of players. The previous gen, their current gen and the new upcoming gen.
@@fernandovargasmejia740lol no. It's either Kasparov or Magnus. Every year that Carlsen maintains his dominance he gets closer to being undisputed goat. Fischer time at top was just 2 years. He is no 3 but no higher than that.
@@fernandovargasmejia740 Fischer far from being the GOAT. He's far behind Carlsen and Kasparov at least.
Magnus consistently turning around games that were initially lost or appeared to be draws may initially appear fortunate, but the frequency with which he achieves this in nearly every other game suggests that it's more a testament to his skill than mere luck. #GOAT
On the other Hand, Hikaru, able to play on equal terms and make magnus sweat to win, Makes him the deadliest opponent. GOD I love chess.
Hikaru is like a Hector to Achiless.
idk who said it, but luck is the combination of preparation and opportunity.this isn't always true, but like you said, in Magnus' case, it is. He is so good that if you make just the slightest of mistakes and he will eat you alive like a shark smelling blood in the water
You may be cool, but you`ll never be as cool as Agadmator answering a phone call during the game analysis of 2 GOATs. Long live Agad!
I did manage to watch first couple hours of the entire final after work. So far top one i can say👍🏻
Agreeing to a draw was so classy by both players. This is true chess.
Yeah considering Naka was bleeding the clock in a couple of games. Seems petty to me, but it's apparently fair play
Hikaru's run in the 3+1 was incredible
Magnus comeback after changed shirt incredible too
He is the first person to comeback against Hikaru with 3+ deficit
only Antonio can make a phone call mid video, this is peak Agadmator
13:11 best move
Magnus seems unstoppable
Magnus and unstoppable in the same sentence, oxymoron 😁
Magnus’s unstopability speaks for itself.
Phone call from Magnus complaining that he hasn't actually made his move yet and the commentary will have to wait
I’ve been looking forward to this one!
These guys really show how much of a different level they are on. Wow. Just plain bewildering!
I visit this again after world rapid and blitz, one I could say, I think Magnus getting faster and faster in chess. The time difference Magnus put between him and his opponent is crazy.
I like this guy, a call (from his wife probably) is more important to him than the audience.
Agad I love your content! Please, can you do bu for bullet and bz for blitz or something in that spirit for the little robot? Would be nice especially in these kind of videos and events…
Thanks for all that you’re doing ❤
Magnus crushed everyone except Hikaru, what a heavyweight battle! Great event 👌🏻
In the whole event, nobody else even reached a double digit score against Magnus, and only MVL did against Hikaru. It's amazing how both of them kicked around everyone else easily, but are such a close match for each other.
Been waiting on this I'm surprised yt didn't notify me!!
I appreciate the context of their record against each other, head to head.
Magnus is Goat and Agadmator is the Goat of chess channels.
Hikaru was so far ahead. I blinked and they were back to even.
"We been trying to reach you about your car extended warranty"
Saw these games live. Some of the most fun chess I've watched in years.
I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that double rook sac. Insane chess from both, but Magnus is the GOAT.
Important phone call....finished in few seconds😂
Hikaru put up a recap of the a few of the notable games on his channel, too. It's worth checking out if you want to see more detail about his thought process for some of these.
Very nice game. 👏👏👏👏And great analysis 😊

Unless it's Mt Kailash - then there is no route to the top of the mountain.
Felt like the “sorry about that” needed an upgrade and answering the phone is 100% worthy.
I found that very informative. I would not have understood the position simply by using a chess engine.
I love watching Magnus and Hikaru play each other.
7:54 'of course Hikaru did not allow this. He resigned.'
That is a very good way to avoid checkmate :D
Well done, Magnus.
The final boss is still difficult to beat
Ferocious play.
i love how you dont edit the phone call out xD legend
these two are inseparable. How close are the scores in all these time formats.
HBD Carlos, imagine Johnny Cage MK11 audio lmao hahaha
Yes the fast time controls force errors even from the best.
yet again Magnus proves he is the GOAT...!
Great games advancing the game is what we all ant.
No champion can be amazing without amazing competitors.
The man answers a phone call, has a conversation, apologizes then continues like there wasn't even a pause. Impressive.
Watched this live, I was glad Nakamura didn't run away with it in the 3+1 section, Kept it a nail biter to the very end!
Since I can read lips, I inform everyone that the mail man invited Agad to the local library at 11:00 tomorrow.

What suspense was created by that phone call....!

INTRODUCTION made me more comfortable watching...AGAD OP!!
Greatest title of all time! And no click bait
I love you & your videos
Wow magnus is ridiculous. Crazy the mental edge he holds over everyone like Morphy and fischer
But Hikaru broke the spell when he won that one end game that should have been a draw. Quickly lost the game that I think was the first one Agad showcased here but I think he still realized this chess God could bleed.
18:55 thank you so many people skip over the how to end it section.
Enjoyed Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura after a long time
For a long time….we will be waiting for the next goat
#suggestion please show Vishy’s win vs So. That was a mind blowing game.
Why there is no sound on piece movements and captures in this video?
Great game from these two Chess speed demons!😜🤪
Regrettably Hikaru didn’t find those winning moves at the end but even if he had they would still have to play another tie breaker Both are fantastic players Hikaru the toughest competition against Magnus Magnus just Incredible Great play by Both
What on earth happened to the sound?
Why did you turn off the piece voices 😢
Oh it came back sorry
It actually was a TWO point victory had Magnus not been such a good sportsman by allowing a draw in a mate position within seconds
Weird that the board sound suddenly turned on in game 2
The Man beats The Man!
Wasn't following the channel for a while. What happened to the sound?
i love how he just picks up the phone mid game and doesnt bother to edit it out
He turned the mic off to make it a prophylactic move 😂.. Even stockfish was not gonna be able to find Agad's brilliant move 😂 13:06
Goku vs Vegeta is always a good match
How do all these insane sacrifices exist in these positions like that? I constantly look for such moves in my own games and almost never find any. I mean, even the best of the best can't spot them in their games either apparently, so maybe that's why, lol.
did he really answer his phone!! always teaching how to be comfortable with oneself :)
When these two play, they never disappoint. Hikaru was brilliant; however, Magnus was just a little better. Congrats to Magnus!
My whole bank account was in the hands of Hikaru. Now I m watching this from prison
This particular time, Magnus was very lucky
May be the mail man called him between😂
I was shocked he missed Ra2+!! either winning he queen for the rook or a forced mate in 3.
Thriller in Manila.
