Magnus Carlsen faces his World Championship challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi and ex-challenger Fabiano Caruana in the FTX Crypto Cup, the 6th event on the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour and the 3rd and final Major. The 3-day preliminary stage sees the 16 players play each other once before the bottom 8 are eliminated while the top 8 advance to a knockout. The prize fund is $320,000, including a $100,000 Bitcoin bonus. The winner also qualifies to September's Tour Final.
The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment per move from move 1. The knockout match-ups are held over two days, with a 4-game match each day. If the match score is 1:1, the tie is decided in a blitz playoff. Two 5+3 blitz games are played followed, if needed, by an Armageddon game, where White has 5 minutes to Black's 4 but a draw counts as a win for Black. Official website: championschesstour.com

there are three guarantees in life. Death, Taxes, and Hikaru being up on time
Not if he plays against Nepo! Nopo is constantly up 40, 50 minutes on the clock in classical.
*What am I doing...JUST MOVE!*
I’m pretty sure in some of the games Magnus was up on time
ruclips.net/video/n-nqCrRpf9g/видео.html
@@TechnetiumPrime Dude has premium access to the clock

Magnus is saving the Evans gambit for the match against Ian Nepomniachtchi.
Bruh 😂
😂😂😂
Of course, doesn't want so spoil all his Evans prep on a lousy tournament, it's more important to save the WC title.
😂😂
He played the Brazilian Opening in the first game of the match against Karjakin for the WCC, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that he plays the Evans against Nepo.
**Magnus not playing the Evan's gambit**
**It was in this position that Hikaru won the game for sure.**
ruclips.net/video/n-nqCrRpf9g/видео.html
If only he played the Evan's Gambit everytime he got the chance, he would have won every tournaments
How many times can you refuse to the play the Evan's Gambit and lose before you realize the error of your ways?
It's like he wants to lose or something.
One does not deploy a secret weapon at a whim!
Yes
The majority of chess players lose more games not playing evans gambit than playing it. Unacceptable oversight

Underrated part of Agads videos is never runs ads. Love u
I wish he did. He deserves the bag. His videos are so entertaining even for people who aren’t that into chess
@@Jearbearjenkins Wait why doesn't he run ads?? Where does his income come from, and why/how does he make RUclips videos at this rate if he doesn't run ads
@@JustAzab Donations. He's saving so many hours of his viewers' time by not running ads, like doing a public service. Think about it, 10 seconds of ads per view and almost 400k views on this video means he saved 4,000,000 seconds of time, which is over 66,000 hours on this video alone. Multiply that by how many views all his videos gets and he's literally saving millions of collective hours of people's lives.
So yeah, donate if you like his stuff :)
@@YesPlease1 Yeah but for the people that can’t donate and still wanna support the channel, we’d love to see running ads on his channel.
Also your numerical example isn’t really much because to the individual viewer it’s just 10 seconds at the end of the day, regardless if the video got 1 view or 1 million. So he didn’t really do people that much service in that regard.
@@JustAzab Step back to view the bigger picture though. Total value is total value, whether it's helping a few people in a big way or helping many people in a small way. He's serving humanity better this route.
his choice of words while explaining moves is phenomenal!
So thus he's famous
Except at that one point he forgot the word “opportunity” lol

Kinda toxic here
A good old Nakamura - Carlsen match, it never gets old.
Usually Gioco Piano games are kinda boring postitional games, never seen so much craziness out of that opening
Hikaru doesn't play giuoco piano, he plays gucci piano
ruclips.net/video/n-nqCrRpf9g/видео.html
Positional games are equally nice, not at all boring. I prefer the less violent play of positional chess, which have a relatively peaceful and long but skillful outmaneuvering. Some of these attacking fast action chess openings full of tricky tactics and traps are in vogue now, but Chess is already full of conflict---do we need the gore and hyper-aggressiveness to feel it? I don't. hehe
I play a lot of Gioco Piano with white, but I often transpose it into a Scottish Gambit or something similar which becomes extremely sharp extremely quickly. The French is the position that is just boring positional non-sense. I'm not a professional, I play to have fun. I've started to just resigning games where black plays the French. Not because it's unbeatable or anything or it's harder to beat (my win percentage against it is about the same as other openings).
It's just boring and annoying.
You can have the internet rating points, because if you play the French it clearly matters to you more.
Naka is a man of focus, commitment and sheer fucking will 🔥
He's the pokemon with sturdy ability
naka is a man who does not care
Also he doesn't really even care
Ok
He once killed 3 man in the bar with a freaking chess piece. A freaking chess piece!
Nakamura is a great player. He should start streaming.
haha BONGCLOUD
Lol,big lol
I disagree, I don't think he would be popular even if he does meme review
For me it's always crazy to see hikaru beeing the monster he is. Thanks to youtube we get to know him as a relatable person. So I tend to forget, that he is actually the highest rated blitz player IN THE WORLD. We live in fortunate times to get to know these crazy geniuses as real people through the internet😁
he is highest rated blitz player, but he is not the best blitz player
@@tomatoisnotafruit5670 who is, then? Would like to know.
He is amazing but can't relatable. It's all for content

@NIZAMABAD TALKS
Dude, stop spamming your shit everywhere, it's really annoying.
How could Magnus play so many good moves with only 20 seconds left!?!?! These guys are machines!!!
Bonus time
14:10 as a 1200, being able to find the best move has the best feeling
I'm glad to see production quality keep rising through the years. Plus the content is enjoyable to everyone, even a beginner like me. Keep it up!
Good news everyone, I managed to play the evans Gambit in an actual match. I won.
Good for you, and I'm being serious.👍
The funny thing is i've always won when my opponent play evans gambit decline...
Me too!
Larry evens was trash he got clowned on by Bobby Fischer
@@ezcxmadaraviizionz28 If you knew history then you would know that the evans Gambit is not named after Larry Evans, but Charles Evans. A man born in the 1800s. Bobby Fischer never played him.
Think that one was decided in preparation, or not? Brilliant counter attack by hikaru. I missed pretty much all tactics o.0 😊 was thinking about the knight tho but missed the rook. The tournament seems tons of fun. Nice coverage as always. o/
Also insane precision

It's amazing to see Agadmator posting the videos right after they are played. Keep up the good work. Lots of love!
Magnus sees more in 22 remaining seconds than I could see in 22 years.
40 minutes later: Magnus kills the Boogeyman killer
It's 2 to 1 for now. All Hikaru needs is a draw. It would be funny to see the first draw in QF to be for the win. 😅

A great Game !! Carlsen held to account, but always with the danger of a sudden and clever CM against Nakamura. A lot of great moves on both sides.

One of those occasions where yesterday's thumbnails worked better today..
#suggestion FIDE Women's Grand Prix Round 5(Paetz, Elisabeth vs Gunina, Valentina) the conversion of an almost insignificant advantage as per Stockfish at depth 25 to a win by black is very surprising as well as thrilling.

Your thumbnails almost always put a smile on my face
#suggestion Efim Geller vs Max Euwe 1953 Zurich Candidates. Euwe is only World Champ you haven't done a video on!
Guess he doesn't like the guy..Smyslov only got three games and the shortest-lived World Champ gets name-checked every other game!

WHAT A THRILLER!!
The knight was the MVP destroying everything with the fork! It's really rare to see knight being played skillfully because most of the time they died in the early game being pinned and eaten by the bishop. Truly amazing
I used to play the Evans against 4... d6 but the Max Lange against 4... Nf6.
Wow!!! What a game!!!
