Shoes are my absolute weakness. I absolutely love Audrey's black with, ?, floral pattern, kitten heels in this video so much. Have been searching for similar for ages to no avail though 🙁
I think hoops could be substituted with diamond studs or perls. Obviously it doesn't need to be real diamonds😉. I am currently absolutely in love with them. They can be round or square, big or small, whatever I'm in the mood for. For a long time, I didn't like the way hoops made me feel and now that it's getting better, I still prefer big, very thin ones... I do agree they are classy... But I do think perls and 'diamonds' belong to the same category.
I think more broadly having a classic but catching earring which works for you is more ideal. This video seems more tailored to her own tastes vs. something more widely applicable. A better title might be "Tips I use to Always Look Chic". Great to have both sides, but definitely a bit of a distinction.
I used to think that I couldn't wear boat neck because it emphasized my broad shoulders but after watching Audrey, I'm learning to embrace my broad shoulders. Thank you Audrey!!
Yes! I have broad shoulders and have always loved the boat neck! It looks very classy. I think the worst neckline for me is a deep and wide scoop neck -- I can go deep, or I can go wide, but never both! haha
For me it's "when in doubt, add pearls." My pearl earrings are a staple and are my favorite way to improve my outfit. A fun video could be how to find your staple earrings
I like to go with black pearls for my pearl look. They’re usually grey rather than black, but they have and understated elegance combined with being a twist on a classic.
@@hennahannnah I might have to try more black pearls, white ones can sometimes look a bit 'grandma-ish' on me, depending on the style. Black might look a bit more modern.

The staples with a twist is so true! Im finishing college so I started to fix my closet (i had clothes from when i was in school so yeah) and I followed the lists they give at first but what's staple for some, is not really for others, i got the white button up and white tshirt and NEVER wear that, but i also got flowy orange pants and a stripped beatle and dude, staples, i use them with everything, is crazy how as you discover your style, you start to see your "own" closet staples (Also, the white tshirt i gave to my sister and once winter is over i will try to play around with the white button up, so no clothes waste)
I used to dress like you and then I smashed up my knee in a car accident years ago and exercise is painful since. Sigh. I'm now very overweight, I can't wear anything but flats and I envy you your style. It's just not the same dressing an overweight body. I'm not saying you should cater to bigger women, just that I'm envious of your youth and good figure. Never take it for granted. And never say, as you get older, "it's only 5 pounds, I'll take that off easily" It's really not easy to take off. Have a wonderful day.💗
I have a pixie cut so a ponytail won’t work 🤣 I wouldn’t mind suggestions on how I can vary my hair style. Great tips all around. Thank you 😊 Yes please make more of these types of videos. Little tweaks can help make a big change.
Building your outfit from bottom to top is such a good idea in general actually. One generally has less shoes than bottoms, less bottoms than tops, and less tops than accessories, so you can start with the most restrictive part. Shoes in my experience always have to be at the same time comfortable, suitable for the weather and fit for the occasion, which leads to very poor variety in my closet.
Sometimes for me I feel like a certain pair of shoes. Maybe my crisp white new sneakers or if I know it will rain then my Dr Martens. That way, I can go "oh these boots with black jeans ok what colour do I want to add on top? Ah I feel like green today ok let's pick one of my green tops I think the cosy soft striped one"
Oh my gosh, why have I never thought about bags in proportion to me?! I'm having the most "AHA" moment right now. I cant tell you how much I enjoy this channel.
Hello Audrey! I have been hearing that traditional button down cardigans aren't in any more. In general, I'm wondering what the forecast is for sweaters of any type for 2021/2022 and wonder if you could address that. Thanks for your consideration.
With dresses, when I have a more grown-up dress that I want to town down, I'll wear it with ballet flats. When I have a dress that's a bit more frumpy or girly, I'll wear heels to balance it and make it look more mature. I have loved doing this recently and discovered the magic of shoes since covid regulations are relaxing and we're leaving the house more. Shoes truly are such a wonderful way to express yourself, and I truly feel like the shoes I own represent me!
Another great video. Thanks for the useful tips. No high ponytail for me. I have a very short hairdo due to chemo. Don’t feel sorry for me. I am embracing it. Love from The Netherlands XOX
Yep. I sported that hairdo (with chemo curls) also. I’m well on the other side now. It was fun to have really short hair for a while. I never would have chosen it but I liked it. Rock the look, Rita!
Not a rule but just a cool trick: from the channel "Alexandra's girly talk" Have your high ponytail line up with your cheek bones to minimize the look of a double chin. For people with really sharp chins, the super high pony will accentuate that. But for someone with a softer jawline, a super high ponytail can add more of a "bulk" to that area. So, if you want a customized high pony, suck in your cheeks and follow that line to the back of your head. This should give you the perfect ponytail height! Hope this helps :)
That's interesting, ponytails always seem very casual and practical to me! I wear them a lot but I'm not sure I've ever had them read as elevated to me.
It really depends on your hair length and hair type. To me, only long, luxurious ponytails are chic, and only if they are neat as a pin and straight or slightly wavy. My hair isn't thick enough to make a chic long ponytail, but I add a long silk scarf to it and it works. With the silk scarf, it looks elegant as a low ponytail, too. I got the idea from a scarf ad in Vogue years ago.
I just saw the post about your ring. I'm sure you've contacted pawn shops to keep a look out and contacted lost and found in the local papers and left signs along that area where you were. I know you're going to find it. Stay positive and go back and retrace your steps one more time with calmness. I have every hope you're going to find it.
Understanding what you say about structure and size. I think breaking the rules are fine so that said I fond a backpack totes handle chic enough for date nite, events yet for everyday puroose... fills the bill. Target had a backpack tote that fill the bill. It was from India sacred thread something like that. Anyway black and white stripes with a black outer zip pocket. Love it for around $35 and it is a great find and well made. The only thing that saddens me is I would have gladly paid more if the workers or makers would have received more money for their craftmanship. I am one who still has classics from the 70's or high school and understands good design. I never get rid of great designed clothing so what I have found my faves are still in great demand and I get lots of complements on my clothes. I must be doing something right. Find what you love trust your gut, never fell compelled to follow the latest... love you fellow sisters this is just a thought of mind...basically do what feels right to you. Never let peeps dictate what is not your style. I seen people rock plaid hair ... that is not me but I can sure appreciate the beauty that others bring. Let's see individuality for what it is. Let's forgive and not be stuck with what poor peeps had to deal with in their day. Let's know the hear and now and try to see things from each others point of view. Understanding but making our own strong convictions...Normally I keep things very cerebral. Not to offend just airing my thoughts...trust me this is rare. Bleeings to you and appreciate you hanginging in to my long winded statement...got it off my chest. Thanks XOXO this is my usual g sign off and I mean this from my heart.

The style of the dress is important. If you want chic, choose sleek and simple. A tailored mood is good, even if it's a knit. A little black dress kind of look, sleek and simple, even if it's not black. Solid colors, avoid prints, because prints are tricky to get right. White or off-white, beige, pale gray, wine, or navy, upper-class neutrals and classic colors that almost everyone can wear. It doesn't matter if the skirt is full or slim, but the style should be as simple as possible, especially when you're just figuring out how to do it; added googaws like ruffles, bows, etc. on your dress can easily bring down the level of your look unless you're an expert. Classic accessories like pearl earrings, or a gold chain necklace, or a simple, bold, gold or silver cuff bracelet. Keep your handbag tailored-looking - again, sleek and simple all the way. You can take chances later when you're more experienced.
I’ve always thought of the size of the bag but haven’t implemented it - nothing worse than it almost hitting the ground when your arm down all the way. I like the basics with a twist - there’s always items I don’t feel comfortable in, like a billowy blouse for example, and I don’t wear dresses except for weddings. I can’t believe how good you look in “basics”. Honestly you have talked me out of some loafers I was going to get on sale that I think are cute but they’re trendy - chunky lug sole - I don’t need them and should put the money towards things that will be timeless that I need, like camisoles. My hair is shorter, so I can’t do updos.
Very nice. Great tips and agree with the structured bag. I think when you put your hair up, you need to bring just a few pieces in front and fix just that two pieces. It will look so intentionally put together. My hair is as important as my shoes.
