    Not all products are compatible, but one powerful combination that I discovered, thanks to Matt Moreman of Obsessed Garage, is to apply a base layer of Jescar PowerLock+ followed by a top coat of Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. Expect 6 to 8 months of real world durability plus the depth and gloss of a carnauba wax.

    ►Here’s my video tutorial on how to apply wax to your car: • HOW TO WAX YOUR CAR !!
    Apply a thin coat of Jescar PowerLock+, then buff off. Wait at least 3 hours and then apply a thin layer of Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. After you’ve applied this dynamic duo, maintenance washes will be simple. Wash the vehicle using a pH neutral car shampoo, and after rinsing, while it’s still wet, use your favorite quick detailer as a drying aid and this way you’ll increase the waxe’s longevity and boost gloss levels too.

    845 is THE most durable wax I’ve ever used. I apply a couple coats right before winter and it will last well into April in New England weather. It will lasts through multiple winter car washes too with incredible beading and gloss. I will never use anything else. The Power Lock sealant is a great addition as well.

    I tried this for the first time yesterday. The vehicle I used it on was a '19 Subaru Forester Premium in blue. After foaming and washing, mech/chem decon.. perfect finish, then the fun began. I've never used an easier product in My life than Power lock +. It was a breeze to apply and remove. Temps were 60*f yesterday. After the wipe off process, I let it cure 3 hours and warmed up the 845. Pretty much did two panels then wiped off. The owner of the car was very pleased! It was a good experience! I'll use it again. Thank You, Pan, and Matt Moreman. Have a good week!

      @@PanTheOrganizer I truly enjoyed applying and removing this combo. It's been raining since Sunday night after I finished it... so I'll see how it is this weekend when I wash it and add another coat of 845. Thanks for replying, Pan, and, for the link for the topper! It felt weird to apply sealant and wax instead of CSL/EXO!!

    Excellent combination...I have to say I've tried it before and hated it.. Lots of wax residue that smeared and was difficult to remove... This time I let the Jescar Powerlock cure for 4hrs and I applied the Colinite very thin... What a difference... The vehicle looks amazing.

    Hi, Pan! I have been using Collinite 845 for 10+ years and can vouch for the quality and durability of the product. The gloss is outstanding and I won a car show award in part because of the shine that product produced! I have been using a different combination for the last three years and I think it's worth a look. That combination is Griot's Garage Paint Sealant topped with Collinite 845. My rationale is this: Griot's Garage Paint sealant last up to 12 months down here in the South with our heat and sun and has a very high fill power for fine scratches. It gives off a rather bright gloss, but when the Collinite 845 is added, more protection, depth, and a warm glow is left behind. I have been noticing one year + of protection and a reduction in bug adhesion on the front of my car. This combination also works well for those people who aren't comfortable with paint correction and or don't need much. Best regards!

    FYI on this combo or any polymer or wax, if you live in the salt belt northern states or Canada the first road salting will remove every single last bit of this. I’ve done testing over last 4 winters and the only coating that lasts is a ceramic based, and even that is worn down. Sorry but only good for people that don’t have road salt. I wash and use bead maker and I’m done.

      @@PanTheOrganizer I used to detail my car in the 1970s in high school. Always liked being in a clean car even though it was a “beater”. Fast forward to today: I retired from the Chicago Police Department in 2012 and went into the real estate business. Found a real good detailer who’d detail my car before I’d do house showings. One day, the car came without having the usual good detailing. I knew the vendor who supplied my detail shop and picked up the detailing supplies I needed. I returned home and started detailing my car. I felt a strong sense of satisfaction detailing my car-the leather interior glowed and had a wonderful fragrance from the leather oil. The black dashboard looked brand new. It was at that moment I wondered how could I improve my results. I googled auto detailing and “Pan the Organizer” showed up. Your videos are GREAT! A lot of fun to watch and that makes it easier for your audience to listen to your instructions. In addition to the real estate business, I drive for Uber (part-time). Passengers compliment me on the condition of my car. When I tell them it has over 200,000 miles, they react with disbelief. I started to detail some of my Uber passengers automobiles. It’s becoming lucrative and like you, I want to be the best. I tried watching other detailing videos, but yours are the BEST! Do you have a video for wax/sealant removal? After using Jescar/Colonite, I’m getting quite a few inquiries and I want to make sure I know how to remove old sealant and wax. Thanks again!

      To answer your question, I would avoid directly spraying iron removers on plastic trim, but if some overspray lands on them, no worries, it should rinse right off. I have never had issues with iron removers, and CarPro IronX is one of the best ones out there. The tricks with iron removers is to follow directions on the label, most often don't let the product dry and never work in direct sunlight. On average, you let the product dwell for a maximum of 3-4 minutes and then you rinse off with water.

    Don’t forget that insulator wax also has polymers in it as well, this for me is my tried-and-true personal favorite. Back in the early 90s my father brought home the original 845 and said try the stuff son the old hot rodders swear by it. Back in the 90s I didn’t know what I was doing I was only 12 at the time but I enjoyed detailing cars 845 back then had very little information on how to apply it I loved the durability but I would coop back in the 90s I didn’t know what I was doing I was only 12 at the time but I enjoyed detailing cars 845 back then had very little information on how to apply The instructions would talk about electrical insulation and the correct application for that but no paint application or if it was clear coat safe at the time I loved the durability but I would goop 845 on and wonder why the hell would be so hard to get off. I have been doing a personal study on contamination with jet seal and other products and 845 just seems to hold up I noticed when I go to Claybar the car every half a year 845 has asked significant reduced amounts of contamination on the paint versus other products. Now this could be due to the combination of jes car is the basecoat and then I will topcoat that with 845. Thanks Pan for all your great videos!👍🙏

    Hey Pan... It's 08/22/2023. Will Jescar Ultra Lock+ have the same bond with Collinite 845 Insulator Wax as Jescar Power Lock+? Would adding Extremes Solutions Topper have an added value to either combination 1) Ultra Power+ and Collinite 845, OR 2) Ultra Lock+ and Collinite 845? I've also considered just Ultra Lock+ and Extreme Solutions Topper. At 79, I just purchased my last daily driver, a 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (Midnight Black Metallic and Wind Chill Pearl). I have a question for you, speaking about sealants:
    In the case you have applied a ceramic coating on your car, and after one year you want to remove it and re-apply it, in which way do you remove the old one?
    Thanks from Italy

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 лет назад

      Hi Francesco. You don’t remove your coating. If you want to boost gloss and protection, you apply a top-coat booster like CarPro Gliss or Gyeon Booster.
      If you absolutely want to remove the coating, good luck, you’ll have many hours of heavy machine polishing to do...

    My car is Honda civic and it is weekend driven , parked outside.

    How often one should wash the car ,I mean a week ,a month ?? Does frequently washing a car makes some areas/panel rusty/corrosion in long run in a vehicle?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 лет назад

      You can wash your car as often as you like. I wash mine twice weekly. What you should do is have rustproofing applied to your car and also apply paint protection like wax, sealant or ceramic coating on your paint.

    Good day Pan. I have been detailing cars for about a year now and still learning a lot from your videos. Thanks again. When I detail cars, I always put my wax and top it off with a sealant (Adam’s Buttery wax / Turtle wax seal and shine). In this video you put your sealant first. Should we do the same for all the products or just with this combo (Power Lock / Colonite Wax)
    Thank you very much

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  3 года назад +1

      You would always apply the paint sealant first, regardless of the brand. The idea behind this is that you want the most durable protection as a base layer of protection first. Paint sealants last way longer compared to waxes. And then, you finish with the wax on top, as carnauba based waxes typically offer a nicer, warmer glow/gloss to the finish, and nice slickness, so you get the beauty product on top. Every few months, you reapply a layer of wax as needed.

    • @PanTheOrganizer

      After applying Collinite, you buff it like any wax. You wait one week, then you wash your car again, that will remove the oils that have risen to the surface of the wax. Then you can apply a spray wax (or even better, Bead Maker) on top.

    • @PanTheOrganizer

      I would start fresh, as the vehicle will likely need decontamination (iron removal, clay bar), so might as well follow up with a light polish, IPA wipe, and reapply a fresh layer.
      But if the protection hasn't all faded away and is in decent condition, you could, in theory, wash the car, use an iron remover, rinse and dry it, and apply a fresh layer.

      Yeah both are pretty much the same. Jescar is the American importer of Menzerna products.

Went to a bakery to grab some goodies for the kids , it’s raining outside several weeks after applying Hydro Blue , which was several weeks after applying king of gloss , which was several weeks after applying fusso coat. Yeah I know , anyhow the Hydro Blue is amazing stiff but it will streak when you put it on dry so best to apply wet. I’d really appreciate your insight. I respect your opinion. What’s your take on Opti-Coat vs Ceramic Pro? I understand one is SiC and the other is SiO2. The properties of SiC seem to be more appealing. My apologies for the lack of brevity. Thank you.

    How often do you reapply and at what intervals? Will Powerlock work on top of a weathered 845 or must you strip? I am looking to use these in the future and top with bedmaker but would like to know what the regimen looks like for the months ahead as I reapply and maintain. Thanks for the help.

    Been watching your very useful and informative videos; I am new to washing my car and detailing. If I wash the car after a month of doing the above combination of sealant and wax, do I have to apply them again; what would be the step after pressure washing and drying the car, what should be applied to keep the protection and gloss. Thanks

      It depends on which product you applied. Some last 1 month, some last 3 to 6 months. When you see less water beading and slower water sheeting, it means it's time to apply a fresh layer.
      For regular washes, to help maintain gloss and slickness until the next time you apply the sealant and wax, you can use a drying aid which will lubricate the surface as you are towel drying the car, and also helps to prevent marring the surface. It will boost gloss and slickness. A perfect companion for this sealant/wax duo is this spray on sealant that you will use as a drying aid: ruclips.net/video/J7uc4AlarpU/видео.html

    Awesome videos - keep up the great work, Can you use AMMO Reflex first and then this combo for the ultimate protection? Thanks!

      Yup. Just like you can top Reflex with Skin and Creme.

    Hi PAN...If you have a ceramic coating, would it still be OK to apply POWER LOCK+ & COLLONITE 845 on top ?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  5 лет назад

      No. You don’t apply waxes or sealants on top of ceramic coatings. You need silica spray sealants or sealants (CarPro Reload, The Last Coat, Gyeon Cure, Gtechniq C2V3, Opti-Coat Hyper Seal, Kamikaze Over Coat, etc) that are known to be compatible like Bead Maker.

    Hey Pan! I took your advice and ordered this combo! Would Meguiar's fast finish be good as a last product once wax cures? Or is it not necessary with the power lock? Thanks!

      That would be too many paint protection products. Pick one sealant to apply first (either Power Lock or Meg's) and finish that off with the Collinite as that gives the best shine and gloss. The base layer of paint sealant is there for long term durability.

    Hello Pan . Can the 845 wax be applied over spray sealants such as gtechnique , megs fast finish etc ? If yes , what do you do between washes if you want to top it up ? spray sealant again or paste wax ?

    Great timing! Is it okay to apply this Collinite wax every 1-2 months (to clean, resist stain, water spots) and Ultimate Quik Wax every 2 weeks? This Collinite has a lot of positive reviews as well as from you! I have Meguiar's Ultimate Wax (Sealant) + Ultimate Quik Wax. Thank you!

      You can apply the Collinite as often as you wish. And you can top it after maintenance washes with any spray wax or quick detailer that you like. :)

    Do I need a polish before the paint sealant? Also, just so I understand, I should always remove all sealant and old wax before starting a new layering. Thanks. What product would be best for this?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 лет назад

      If you like the way your paint looks you can skip the polishing steps. To remove old waxes or sealants, you can start with a stripping soap if you have a foam cannon (like Purple Power Vehicle and Boat Wash) or a stripping shampoo like Adam’s Strip Wash, Chemical Guys clean Slate, etc. Before applying you paint sealant, go over the paint with a paint prep or IPA like CarPro Eraser.

    So do you think this would be a good form of protection from harsh desert sun? If not what would be a better? Thanks!

    Totally digging the combo, what is a good way to remove paint chips on a plastic bumper for a white car?

      Respray the panel if you want perfection. If you’re on a budget, paint touch-ups.
