@@limeemil8221 i played this in 8th on first trumpet but i had just got my braces on. a new embouchure and a relatively fast paced march doesnt go well together
I’m playing this right now in band and our band director is like “116 is fast enough we don’t need you all messing up” Yea so he was absent today and us being the immature 7th and 8th graders we are decided to take it at 168 with one of our flutes directing and it actually sounded good lmao
This really features the low brass and i love it. Me being a euphonium makes it hard trying to find music that has us as a melody. I enjoy this march and it has actually encouraged me to look into more Spanish marches hoping they also feature the euphoniums as much as this one.
At last!!!! One "foreing" version not played as if the band were in a hurry to go home. IMO this is one of the best versions. You can dance it (it's a pasodoble-doublestep) and a march you don't want to trip with it. Thanx Mr Fagan from Barcelona.
esto es una cosa que si esta bien como es la buena, para que tocarla, no destruyamos los bonito, Amparito Roca es una cosa que no se puede desnaturalizar
@arielcote I played this as a freshman in high school as a flute. My director made us play it at 1.25x this speed, then 1.5x at 2:12 😄 It was still my favorite song that year. He made us play Molly on the Shore and I HATED that one
Played this last year, beautiful piece for low brass. Trombone player here, this piece makes me feel appreciated as the part wasn’t “easy” not overwhelmingly difficult
Omg, it was so hard to be honest. As a 3rd clarinet, I absolutely hated playing this song. The notes weren't hard at all, just the timing and playing the same notes over and over again was just monotonous but I have to admit that it sounds nice
This was my school’s senior song (the one they chose for the last concert) bc it’s a huge meme song at my school and this sounds so slow lol, I think we got to ~320 bpm? which is actually fine as a clarinet 2 for the upbeats
for me, i used to play clarinet 2, which was all off beats thats why i hated playing this song, but after i started playing clarinet one i can see how this really grew on me! its a really great band song and i love the rhythm 😍
Playing first clarinet with this song edit: it’s now 2022 and I just found this again, didn’t end up playing this at the concert because I got injured literally days before so yeah 😐
I should try to learn this again i didn't do well last year on this one and I'd have to get the music but it would be worth it, just need to keep practicing it!
I played this for wind ensemble in hs and got damn that shit was fun. There was one day we had an after school practice but our director let us know he couldnt be there so instead of just going home we ran through this song as fast as we could. Can confirm it sounded like this but at like a quarter faster it was doable and actually sounded better in our opinion.
I'm playing this in a community band, and the director likes to take this piece way too fast (somewhere around 160 bpm). We're all skilled musicians and can handle it, but yikes! It's supposed to be a march, not a circus screamer.
Only the Hal Leonard concert band could find a way to play one of the most spirited and joyful marches ever written so flawlessly, and still give it absolutely no life or emotion.
Is it just me, or is this that one really random song that EVERY band kid knows for some reason, and if some other group plays it at competition, the whole band is just like "Welp. we've already lost."
i believe this was the absolute perfect speed. First half could have been sped up just a tad, but the second part was perfect. I cant stand when bands play the second half the same speed as the first. it should be slower and more legato. I loved this recording.
Nallely Perez playing it on a flute is really hard, but I'm starting to get it now after only a few days of practice and a few band rehearsals. I love this piece and it's super fun to play :)
You can literally slur the entire thing. It's so fun. Well, I'm a first trumpet with braces and I'm playing for literally the entire song so it hurts a lot but still super fun.
I’m pretty sure the orchestra I played with played it a little bit faster. I still don’t remember how I managed to play this piece with only playing the oboe for like a year
No Mr. Fagan, stop trying to turn this into a a Xylophone concerto. Also, your description is lies, this arrangement doesn't maintain the original's charm and energy.
this is the easy version. the original is "too difficult (?)". I noticed because the bass clarinet part is different and a lot of missing 16th and 32nd notes.
was supposed to play this in band but never did due to corona.. tbh this song slaps more than i anticipated lol now i know why everyone likes it

It’s so much fun but kinda boring for horns since most of the time we’re just going

That is really good for middle school band
I am a flutist and this was hard to play because of how fast it was haha

Ala123 Euphoniums ftw!!!!
Euphonium the best!!! However this song.... It is kind of hard for me as a starter...but i will try... Cuz two more for school performance...
*two more days
Um you can’t even hear low brass.
We are always in trouble in class, the euphoniums blast this song. I love my section ♡

This song really grew on me, I swear it’s alway the marches that capture your heart
In my band class, this is my newest music to learn. As a flutist who hates high notes as long as I live, this is the death of me.

no way i play percussion 1 on xylo lol
Peice
I love with the French Horns and cornets play together in that small solo
I am playing this in band, and I play the flute. It is an amazing piece and love the part at 0:40 smthing
I feel sorry for the 2nd and 3rd clarinets with all the off beats. D:
Trust me. In this song, for some odd reason, I want to drag those offbeats and it's not fun.
Omg, it was so hard to be honest. As a 3rd clarinet, I absolutely hated playing this song. The notes weren't hard at all, just the timing and playing the same notes over and over again was just monotonous but I have to admit that it sounds nice
Feel bad for the firsts too, they just have downbeats for most of it haha. Solo clarinet is the actually good part
:’( Yep
As a 1st clarinetist, I cannot relate because I only have the melody most of the time
My band played this at 1.25x speed, soooo much fun! I played the baritone part ❤

I played Timpani for this song :D
We playing this for our concert in 3 days and bc I’ve been out for doctor reasons I’m just now taking a good look at it 😭 and I have first part 🥲.
I remember freshman year in high school my band director proposed raising the tempo to 148. One of the tubas literally yelled out "Nooooo!"
