Con mucho orgullo que desfilé con mi querido colegio salesiano de concepción Paraguay allá por 1970 la mayoría de las marchas. Ahora tengo 61 años , y me emociona al volver a escucharlos.

I used to listen to this album. My father worked for JVC and gave me this album as 4 channel original version. I really do like all of the songs in this album. I will tell my family to keep on listening this that will never end.

10/17 of these marches are by Sousa so not really marches from the world.
Something tells me Yoder was using his own “retouched” versions of those Sousa marches. I remember his arrangements. He seemed to feel as though Sousa needed extra help. Sousa quite knew his business, thank you very much!!! He didn’t need any help from showman like Yoder.

All marches of Sousa have the same sound! You know one - than you know all! Prussian (german) and Austria-Hungaryan Military Composers are way better!
Not so Heinrich. Only a plebe would see the similarities in one and all of The March King. Listen in depth and and play these marches; you'll find yourself in a new world.
Sousa marches do generally have a similar form and key structure. And their orchestrations tend to be less “orchestral” than their European equivalent marches. Having said that Sousa produces very effective instrumental schemes and usually highly memorable tunes and countermelodies
Well yeah, Sousa marches were designed to actually march to not listen to in a concert hall.
