For Real.... whenever I see truckers driving in the heart of a major city I'm blown away. Hauling a trailer through tight busy roads in Boston or NYC is wild
@@TedwardDrives yeah the honking is crazy people just dont have any Patience, glad you had the camera for that person who ran the stop sign. If you hit them I wouldn't feel sorry, they went right through as if you weren't there.
I'm still shocked you don't need a CDL to drive this thing. I'm a trucker and I drove P3 Cascadia that definitely wasn't as long, or unruly as that one. Edit: Also, the jakes are fine in the wet usually. That thing is on one drive axle, so I'd be more careful, but you're probably fine. Also, And damn! 69,000 lbs? That's only 11k lbs off of the heaviest loads you can haul WITH a CDL under normal circumstances. It took me a month to get confident on my own in a rig, so good job jumping in.
Trust me I agree....And we take it pretty seriously when driving to make sure we don't mess it up. This one is 78' long total. It requires pretty wide turns to get that trailer around a corner
@@TedwardDrives Well, if I'm honest I must say I was mighty impressed with the videos you've done so far in that thing. Most people would have had a very, very bad time.
just started watching this on my tv and i had to open my phone just to say i love the loud and *clear* reference at 2:45 ah it feels good to be able to watch your vids right after i came back from vacay
Well done! That must be nerve-wracking. My dad drove long haul semis. After riding with him, it made me more empathetic towards other drives and have more patience with them.
You guys seem to be doing just fine! There is "nothing to it" you just have to manage your breaks and keep in mind your wider and longer than normal. It takes a bit getting used to but once you get the hang of it you're good. Towns and cities is the kicker though!
Hahha. For some reason I have NO road rage in this truck. I’m always just focused on the task and beeps roll off me like water off a ducks back. In a car I’d be screaming 😂
Been a while since the last Freightliner drive. Love to see it for whatever reason. I find honking at a nearly 35t truck funny if anything. Some India mentality, like what do they expect to happen after they honk? 😂 Also I'm so confused, why the road weight limit was given in tonnes if the US uses imperial units?
One thing I love about these videos is seeing more of mass. I grew up in hingham until I was about 13, so seeing places my dad and I used to visit or pass by again is just awesome
Me: Alright, let's watch another car review. Other reviewers: Check out this new Toyota! Tedward: So I got this 69,000-pound freightliner for you today!
It's state dependent. Some states have a loophole that allow it since it's classified as an RV. That's how normal people drive a bus or winnebago thats large with air brakes. Others require additional certification for air brakes or vehicles over 26,000lbs
Yes of course. It's an RV. State by state has different regs but in our state it is legal. Some require endorsements, some don't. When we got the truck we even took it to the state police to confirm. They said we're good.
Day 29 of asking Tedward to drive the S60R (those unusual POV’s is what I love to see, would love to see some old Volvo’s aswell, hint hint🤠)
is what WE would love to see!
S70R over S60R any day
Never expected a freightliner on this channel, but i love it! 😂
Oh boy do I have news for you! There’s more haha. We drove this a lot last year :)
@@TedwardDrives oh dang let me check those out 😂
@@TedwardDrivesFYI big rig manual gears just make the driving more satisfying once you get the hang of it
racing POVs at a place like this would be amazing to see, you definitely should get into racing
Fully Agree!
All this chaser/blocker radio chatter gives me the weirdest NFS Carbon nostalgia
we usually don't have any support so it was really fun to play with my buds on the radios haha

I've to say: the truck's bass is so epic to hear from my speaker
Especially the low RPMs
it's the best sound...after a long drive I hear it for a few hours in my head

There is a massive rv for sale with massive trailer too for 1.2m I believe it bonkers you can go that big.
Most definitely he needs CDL for this setup … anything over 26k pounds you need a CDL basic math 😅😂
You are a super good driver of this big rig. Really a pleasure to watch!
A Cayenne as a drift car is not something I expected to see today 😅
Tedward and The Bandit!!
Lol

THIS is the type of content that i enjoy most
I remember you used to post some POV videos on track with your M3 a few years ago. Would be great to see that with the Type R!
I agree!
@@eddiesegal5541he has a year old video on track in the Type R
11:12 that’s called the Barkhamsted Reservoir. It’s a very popular spot in CT for car photo shoots.
Absolutely enjoying watching Freightliner videos.
I think it’s so cool that you’re driving that truck. Also I really hope the s2k gets fixed quickly🙏
lime rock is such a picturesque circuit, even in the rain haha, circuit legends is great every year!
I am so envious of all the green! In the depths of summer in Tucson and I just want out!.
Well done! That must be nerve-wracking. My dad drove long haul semis. After riding with him, it made me more empathetic towards other drives and have more patience with them.
Ya'll out here making me want to fire up American Truck Simulator again. Great video!
S2K driver did exactly what I do from time to time in FM7 on Lime Rock
Proof that money does in fact buy happiness
Real
This is why I love your content, you drive the most random, non-conventional stuff lol
Very “Smokey and the Bandit” love it
That Cayenne lap looked intense!
That driver is WILD. He looks as insane as he drives. Not many people stay in drift for an ENTIRE lap of Lime Rock. Total Legend
You got to briefly enjoy Barkhamsted Reservoir. Love riding in that area on my MT-07. Would highly recommend carving through there in your Type R.

Something that you should be confident in when driving this is when you're turning, if you need to, take both lanes so no one will be on your inside.
Nice!!I was just at lime rock a couple weekends ago for Porsche cars and coffee day! Such a great facility.
That’s a good looking Focus ST 😎
Those wheels! Thanks for blocking coco! Always proud to be your teammate

Ted you need to think about a nickname for the radio.
We all have them but none are appropriate for RUclips hahaha

Nice that they put the height dead center on the dash.
This was really calming to watch, probably a bit of the opposite of what it was like to drive haha

Tedward, can you drive a boeing 747?
Those truffle kettle chips are my favorite snack in the entire world
Everyone who tasted it turned feral
Awesome Thanks for Sharing 👍😊
Now we need a proper manual semi truck review, preferably an old pre emissions.
Love these videos!
IDK if I'm correct but Freightliner is owned by Daimler, which is probably why the steering wheel looks like it came from a Mercedes-Benz Actros.
27:25 is legendary
Lovely Mercedes Steering Wheel btw
Seeing something that big moving at 130 kph is incredibly unsettling. In Germany, trucks are limited to 90 kph on the Autobahn.
I adore these vids
I need to road trip with you guys
Join the convoy! We have extra walkies

Great job on that turn. Fuck that guy for honking. Fun drive to watch and felt engaging from the POV

steering wheel from old mercedes benz mp3 from eu truck
this is amazing lol
what is the name of the license you take in the US? in the UK it's called class 1
It's classified as an RV and some states do not require additional license. We live in one of them.
That would be a CDL if it wasn't classed RV
@@TedwardDrives wow that’s incredible
that's a Mercedes actros mp2/mp3 steering wheel lol
9:42 a Taycan at a gas pump????
What are you saying over the radio at 18:04 ?
thanking corie (coco/cokey) for leading the way up the right lane with some speed so I didnt have to slow down
I could not drive any car without rain repellent.
Do you need a class A license to drive one of these commercially, or is a class B sufficient?
It's state dependent. Some states have a loophole that allow it since it's classified as an RV. That's how normal people drive a bus or winnebago thats large with air brakes. Others require additional certification for air brakes or vehicles over 26,000lbs
Class A for articulated or multi (tractor and trailer) vehicles.
Day 1 of asking Tedward to drive a 2013 Volvo C30 T5 M R Design hatchback
What about a non R design? I can do that one next week haha
I SWEAR this is a repost, but I don't think it is
Well I filmed it last Sunday so definitely not a repost.
Tedward, wanna collab you deserve more subscribers
So this DOESN'T need a CDL to drive?!
Correct! Each state has some different laws but most allow you to drive these when they are RV's regardless of weight.
@@TedwardDrives That’s actually insane! You should try to find an older RV hauler, would love to see you drive a 13 speed, lol.
youre telling me that thing doesnt have a bathroom in it?
Pretty sure it does from one of the other videos
New Englanders are too nice. You'd get shot in Detroit for honking your horn at somebody over something stupid like that other car did. xD
are you legally driving this?
Yes of course. It's an RV. State by state has different regs but in our state it is legal. Some require endorsements, some don't. When we got the truck we even took it to the state police to confirm. They said we're good.
