I appreciate it man mine a fuckin lemon and keeps breaking down and one of my buddies was like well you got the spot might at well use it and come to find out the bumper just click baits you, but this helps because I thought it was a waste of money.
Using this guide for later use. Pretty annoying that the USDM Lancers don't have the bolt already to install a tow hook, not to mention this is complicated more by the fact that the 2016+ 'refresh' (which I currently own and use the term loosely as only the front fascia and new side mirror indicators are the real change).
Yes, it is annoying, but I did not want the tow points just for looks, I wanted them fully functional, I track my car at least once a year (either in New York or Mass). If you have any kind of mechanical skills, it is really not that hard, the front was more of a pain than the rear, since you have to drill through the front crash beam, then either use large washers or a metal plate like I did to support the pulling of the tow hook.
you actually need an "L" plate first, then drill two holes that match the two holes on the tow hook, the "L" plate will attach one end to the U shaped factory tow point, I can take a close up video of how it looks on my car, let me know if you need the extra video so I can put it up.
No, just took off dound bumper cap, drilled through the crash beam, used long bolt with L plate to go from behind crash beam to front of bumper, then screwed in the tow ring.
Hello again. I was able to put the rear hook perfectly thanks to you. But i dont understand how you got behind the front crash beam without taking off the front bumper. I have the bolt and L bracket but dont know how you did it. Is there a 2nd video of this or can you be a little more detailed on it? Thanks man.
Maybe your not as much of a car guy as you think, it is not for towing any thing, it is so they can quickly tow your car off the track if you break down, and yes, I have used both the front and rear to be towed. Try going on a race track without these tow hooks, they will just laugh at you and show you the door.
Not a 2.4, just the plain old 2.0, with installed aftermarket turbo, coil over lowering kit, strut tower bars, rear anti sway bar, etc, etc. I do 147 MPH on the track and have not yet come close to redlining the engine. This spring my goal is to pass the 165 MPH range.

Should this work on any car besides a lancer?
depends on the car and on the attachment points that already came from the factory. Which car do you have in mind???
Can you show us how its installed on the rear?
