I'm a toolmaker by trade and own a engineering shop. I can tell by the amount of play in them threads whilst you screwed them together and keeping in mind it's an aluminium shaft. I wouldn't use that for anything more than pulling the skin off a rice pudding.
You need a towing eye so you can attach your car to SparkPlug Steve's fiesta so that he can drag you around and improve your times ;) Keep up the great videos!
You have it easy, in the States our Lancers don't come with any attachment point, I had to drill through the crash beam in order to install my front tow hook.
I used a ebay tow strap before and actually used it for a tow, my car was very lowered and if it broke it would’ve slammed back against the ground. But it help up
Mine snapped while towing my car buddy will be alright on most track days cos they only use a rope to tow but the first tome I used a bar on it it snapped 🙈
Just becareful fella have seen them pull out of crash bar by over keen recovery ops. Just use your original one on track screw it in before scruitineering

One pull on it and you’ll never get it out of your bash bar. Threads will stretch. And they just scuff and bend far too easy.
