Strap should be threaded through bar loop And tied into rear seat belt stock holes. That way the down force bends the bar to the floor and not through your skull. Bar is a guide bar for the strap angle they don't intend you to tie them off on the bar. It's amazing how many people think that will withstand high speed impact. It's meant to fold down and take the shock. Take a look at the crash pics running it your way it's sketchy. But a great install otherwise. Wasn't intended to be a negative comment I enjoyed the install.
Just got a harness bar for my Wrx but I don’t know how to put the straps on thank you for the amazing level of detail

Yea but that is useless cause the car would have to be perfectly level but too many variables like road, suspension, tire pressure etc. would you use a level on a boat ? Lol

Great video. Is there any reason why you couldn't cut the excess if you never plan on changing them vs rolling up the slack?
Question how about the annoying factory seat belt alarm? how you get that to stop if I decided to get the harness bar.
If you’re putting in a quick release wheel I know you need to have a harness for the driver for the airbag , but is it required for all passengers ? I figured if the airbag in the passenger side still worked there’s no need for me to put two seats in ?

Awesome video first and foremost. I just got my harness bar in and included is a bag of hardware. Do I still need to go buy other bolts? It came with 8. I only count 4 washers though so I will indeed need more washers.
Make sure they are grade 8 bolts and hardware. And as long as they are long enough to fit your particular vehicle. Your life is on the line so make sure it’s right just sayin.
What are the silver things that you go under and over through called? My harness didn’t come with it. Trying to buy some.

For the sparco f200 seat that I’m gonna buy, do I need to buy a sparco seat bracket for the seat? Or can I use any bracket?
Josh Catron I used the Evo X specific BRIDE Seat brackets. Fit perfect and are extremely sturdy
What did you do for the air bag light sensor where there any seat air bag on stock seats ?

Can the brackets that attach to the top of b pillar be turned around, bringing the bar closer to the seats???
Paul No that would make a huge gap and angle to try and connect it also wouldn’t shorten up that distance

Does anything have to be done in order to not have the car beep for the seat belt thinking you don’t have a seat belt on?
Yes you need a dummy seatbelt clip off eBay

I’m just worried that these aren’t as safe as a roll bar/cage, is it true? (just my own opinion and need some clarification)
Sean Malone Definitely doesn’t have the safety of a roll cage. This is just a harness bar not a cage to save you in a turn over accident
As far as safety goes for the seatbelts I’d say it’s safer and stronger than stock belts for sure. Like he said it is not gonna help if the car rolled. harness bars are particularly for guys who want to run racing seats and harnesses without having a full cage and keep the street car feel
So they sold the harness bar without the complete nuts and bolts?
EvolutionXRG it’s a Universal Harness Bar. Fits like 4+ different cars. Comes with lots of bolts and nuts but on the Evo x specific to make it perfect you need what I’ve shown.

Nice install! I want to get an evo x, but the stock recaros are a little too low for me, I can just barely see over the steering wheel, I’m 5’4 any suggestions?
Get a lower back cushion for a desk chair and it fits perfectly in the stock recaros
