Devin, I feel that you’re underrated within the community. Compared to other “big” channels, you definitely grind the hardest on these builds to get them done. Never mind the fact that it’s a one man show, for the most part.
Yes most definitely for the most part other RUclipsrs upload boring content that’s isn’t mostly rated to cars and aren’t constantly uploading. Most of them get their cars built by other unlike Devin he builds and shows the whole build.
I also like the humility and humbleness that Devin shows, and it's really inspiring too see him work on cars even if he doesn't know em he always seems to figure it out and work with the best of it, and we can truly appreciate his work and creativity.@@kennethnunez5682
He definitely does and for someone who does almost everyday other than machine work this channel should be way bigger most the stuff he does other RUclipsrs outsource n this man is self taught
Wow, many moves getting the old turbo out and the new one installed. Having this done in a shop surely would have a hefty labor cost and I would worry if steps were skipped to make the install faster. I would trust you to do the install Devin over some shops.
Next Evo look at the artec cast stainless manifold. They are solid and out flow just about anything out there. They also are open for sponsorship. I don’t know they have anyone doing Evo’s or Subarus. That’s going to make somebody a very nice ride.
The second you send high boost thru that turbo that oem manifolds gonna crack immediately. Mine did on the dyno, I wouldn’t be surprised if this one does too.
Devin, like many others have stated, you're using the OEM exhaust manifold which is known to crack and cause really bad AFR issues. So your tuner is going to tune the Evo with inaccurate AFR's and potentially cause engine damage down the line for the new owner.(because the cracks only become bigger and more develop over time cause more exhaust leaks) I hope you change this manifold or at least the new owner does.
My 8 with AGT 57 BB made 470 mustang on 26lbs. Turbo had plenty of room left but had to stop there for stock internals. 500hp should be no problem for the X build
Amazing progress! Hope to see updates on your personal White Evo X! Love watching new videos from you and @_baterbuiltracing! Would be a cool collaboration build on a STI one day with both of you building one in a video in the future.
Tomorrow's video: "Replacing the Evo's Cracked Stock Manifold" 😫 On a real note, I'm excited to see how this turbo does, I'm deciding between the 57mm and the 62mm for mine. Lmk if you need any ash tray gauge pods for this build!
Devin idk if you ever figured out your white blood cell count but I know brake dust and other chemicals on cars can be bad for it! You could try wearing a mask and gloves when you work
Why tear it all back off and worry about scratching it, and saying it's not fun to replace turbo, when the motor was out already? I would have just put it in while it was out....js

he is very underrated lol

Agreed
Man... this channel is top 3 in the car community on RUclips. Good luck to all who enter the giveaway
Remind me to put a new turbo on when the engine is out, that was technical
Nice work Devin. You are a hard worker and very good at what you do. That car is going to be amazing for someone.
Reusing the stock manifold knowing they crack?
That manifold gonna. Crack like mine did 🥹💔 but overall exited for this car 😭 I hope I win this
Devin's content hits with no lag - just like a turbo!!!! Great content, always always find useful information.
Having worked on many evo Xs in the past, it brings back many memories of struggling with that stupid turbo location.
Atleast you’re able to do it like that ! On the q50 you have to drop the engine to replace the turbos
We just put a gen 2 garret 35 76 on our 4b11 and it good but we are going bigger

Devin my boy you should replace that OEM manifold with map or something. They are notorious of cracking over due time.

love this car. underrated my man, stay true.

Just sent them an email because I don't know what type of housing and wastegate to go with for a stock block.. but I'm guessing 57mm is good?
@@memphisraines8118 yeah 57m BB with the new Single Scroll housing would be fun. Stock bottom end is limited to 400 torque so can’t go much past that
I got the AGT 57mm turbo on my evo It’s amazing
Looking into upgraded my stock turbo on my X. How is it man? Mods and how much are you making?🙏🏻
@@EvoxRich fully built, 1440 FIC injectors, gsc s2 cams, MAP exhaust manifold, I’m on speed density making 542whp at 34PSI
@@EvoxRich also my evo is a 9

Goat! Looking forward hearing it! Bet it sounds so good!
I would’ve thought for sure you would upgrade the manifold, but overall good content!!
It’s a sign i need to get mine done lol
Devin, you didn't want to replace the exhaust manifold with an aftermarket one? Stock ones are prone to cracking.
Great Job can't wait to see the next one💯

bro, why are you so brilliant ?
Why you didn’t change OEM exhaust manifold? It usually cracks 🥲
And I think better to change turbo from down, much less parts to remove
At least the cast manifold😭
Great video.
You should check out our XXL firewall heat shields if you decide to run a tubular mani in the future.
Mr devin one day do a swap of 2jz engine in an Subaru Brz thank you , I will be greatful
That turbo looks like a pain to remove for sure. But I think removing the stock twins on a mkiv Supra is probably worse.
anyone else upset he went through all that work to replace the turbo and dp but kept the stock manifold thats prone to cracking lol?
Ya that manifold gonna crack sometime down the line.. might as well get a good one and have peace of mind…
Should have upgraded the manifold too. Stock ones are known for cracking
Trying to understand why this was not done when the engine was out?
Parts may not been available I guess
Insane added labor
Great Work
try doing turbos on a infiniti q50 q60 you need to drop the motor but amazing content as always wish you well brother keep ip the good work
12:16 cover that turbo hole . U don't want to drop a screw in that thennnnn take everything back off Devin 😅😅😅😢
Love the build. Very helpful. Which waste gate actuator did you go with? The 22 or 25 psi?
Right on bruh ur awesome and real🎉
The best channel IN YT
I have a AGT 57mm on my Evo 8 and is wawzaaaa!!! 😂😁
Devin idk if you ever figured out your white blood cell count but I know brake dust and other chemicals on cars can be bad for it! You could try wearing a mask and gloves when you work
Hey man, what was the name of the black paint you recommended for trims? I took a pic of it in one of your videos but I cant find it 🙈 🙏
Looking Good!!
May I suggest blacking out the new intercooler.
I'm loving this baby!!!!❤😊
Why did Mitsubishi and Honda move their turbos to the back?
I never enter these giveaways because I live in CA and my state is acoustic
Hi Devin. I was wondering why did you choose the 57mm instead of the 62mm turbo. I’m looking to upgrade but I can’t decide. Thanks!
I bet Devin has the highest count on turbo swaps for EVOs 🤣
What options did you select when buying the turbo ? I’m wanting to do this exact same set up!
Why the stock manifold devin? Its only going to crack
how much Horse power can a Exo x handle?
I miss my 12 X 😢

The link for the turbo is broken
Hi i have sst need help what turbo setup need for 500bhp and over..???
LINK to turbo in the description doesnt work
What a pain in the ass install that was
GOOD
Can you share the turbo link again? The one in the description doesn't work😕
Working for me 🤔
Could've install that turbo when the engine is out
You sir have never worked on a mazdaspeed 6 and replaced a mazdaspeed 6 turbo it’s in the same location butttt the cowling doesn’t remove 🤣😂
Remove those tail lamps. They are horrible. Second, put the engine cover back on. Idk why you wouldn’t put it back on.
VASYN❤
2nd 🎉
Your speech impediment is much better
Why tear it all back off and worry about scratching it, and saying it's not fun to replace turbo, when the motor was out already? I would have just put it in while it was out....js
I gotta be honest that turbo is so ugly😂
