Firstly, what Is everyone's favorite new profile? For future runs! Also secondly yeaaah so early on one of the future Lathrix versions wasn't really needed, but I was tired and really wanted to make sure the whole 'ALL WORLDS' things was mentioned! I got some sleep since then, I feel less.. derp.

Honestly, all these portraits look so wonderfully "off". I know most people dislike really "alien" aliens, but the weird portraits make so much sense in terms of a mysterious universe which really doesn't conform to your expectations. This is highly subjective, but whichever portrait you pick is the right choice and off-putting can sometimes be a welcome surprise.

My favorite is the 9th portrait, but one of the cooler parts of roleplaying in stellaris is to see how the portrait will shape the species
I prefer portrait 2 ( the hunchback one), portrait 4 (The, "I'm totally not part of Yoda's species!" one) and portrait 8 (because it looks like Cthulhu mixed with a peacock and somehow it works!).
I love Lawful-Evil Lathrix, just look at him, solving galactic water shortages one world at a time. Beautiful.
Because he's the good guy.

When the Shroud presents you with the list of candidates for the Chosen One blessing, you can still check the name of your empire leader before choosing, thus avoiding giving the Chosen One trait to a bad candidate.
do NOT take god emperor with your Chosen One if you want to keep Anglers. God Emperor will remove anglers and you cannot turn them back on
You were the Chosen One! You were supposed to research technologies, not spend the rest of your natural life on a science ship! (for real tho, if you ever feel usess remember that their only real purpose late-game is to jump-drive over to a battlefield during wartime and risk their lives reverse-engineering fallen empire tech or fresh unbidden/prethoryn guts)

I like the one you picked for this run, I've been using it in my Ocean Paradise + Fanatic Purifier and Anglers run.
We shall drag those Xeno Scum to the depths of the sea! May Javy Dones take them!
Ikr, just from the description, that origin sounds like it comes straight from a purifier/devouring swarm civic.
Terraforming candidates are actually easy to find through the "Expansion planner" window.
I think the aquatic robot has my favorite new portrait overall. They look so damn cool, like Lovecraft monsters.
There's a mod to let you change the "water lighting" on ocean ships that doesn't break cheevo's, highly recommend!

I really love that one of his fleets are "Full Contact Tourists". Yes, they love to come over to your place and cause some pretty sever water damage!

I really like the ones with the helmet shaped head, they give the right kind of ruthless-but-graceful-collective vibe
I've noticed the AI doing weird things with their fleets. Even when their fleet is superior it doesn't come to the front line, I grab a bunch of systems with numerous smaller fleets defending. Their main fleet just stays back away from the fight. This was a war they started!
Ive been on a binge of your stellaris videos lately and there is just so much well made content. And all edited down and properly made. You sir have my respect.
I like the first portrait on the second row and adore the aquatic ship designs in general, I can't wait to see what the gigastructure modders do with the new assets.
7:03 Ah yes, the aquarium colony ships; my favorite aquatic ship. All aquatic bases, ships, turrets and megastructures look beautiful with those hexagonal glass tanks that make up the crew decks, but this one looks especially beautiful. Reminds me of those gungan cities from Star Wars. Yousa xenos in big doo-doo dis time…
Only at the start of the run so i don't know what you go for with the third civic slot, but catalytic processing is insane with anglers because of the uncapped ocean districts. Your mineral needs are reduced to almost nothing

The aquatic ships are definitely the best so far. It's like they actually hired someone with some skills this time to make the ships. Thanks for another upload. I've said it before and I'll say it again if not for your videos giving me ideas I'd of never played this game after the devs removed the different drives, or again when they supposedly fixed the alliances etc (terrrible with names), or any of the other shit they supposedly "fixed" but really just fucked up worse and expected modders to fix.
I love your long-form Stellaris playthroughs, even though they are a risk for your channel. Thank you for valuing the quility of your content so highly you're willing to gamble on these kinds of videos!

Lol, I was already doing the same goal of drowning all xeno empires with the Deluge Collosus Weapon before this video posted!
Edit: My empire was more xenophobic so I didn't have to worry much about resettling non-aquatic pops off-world.
Once you have the Deluge Colossus you don't that to terraform your existing non ocean planets anymore. If the planet has aquatic species on it they won't get harmed, so you can deluge your own planets and save yourself the energy credits and time. I haven't tried it myself, but it might be a nice way to turn a Gaia world into an ocean world. Pretty sure you can deluge tomb worlds too.
i only use it to rid fast undesirable resident 😊

Grow into Space Ameoba cruisers
Then feed Dragon Battleships.
And Collosal Space Dragon Titans.

@@glenmcgillivray4707 I would love to see how powerful your navy could be if you made it entirely out of the various giant space creatures you find around the galaxy. You'd have to rush the L-cluster and probably force-spawn the L-Drakes, if not just save, try it and reload if it isn't them.
I know this navy would be pitifully weak, but I'd still like to see it.
@@varthalgamekiin4931 I suspect instead of weapons techs I would need to just give early repeatables that unnerf your fleet.
Additionally I would probably have some super techs at the top end of a tech tree... And a backpack slot each for our pets so they can get equivalent choices doe armour, shields, and hull upgrades. Otherwise you will outright lose to anti armor weapons like plasma.
Theoretically? I can make everything equal.
In practice? I haven't a clue how to customize creature weapons to make them viable.
As you can't swap out weapon slots. So what sort of anti shield breath attack do the dragons get for instance?
Or do we spam Ameoba for their strike craft instead?

Anyway, as always lovely to see your Stellaris content although I must admit I am lately enjoying the more small scale games, Terratech, From the Depths, Oxygen no Included and such. Especially in the late game they feel more impactful but I enjoy all your content.

I found the ocean paradise a little underwhelming.
It would be nice to be able to expand the home planet even larger to make sure that it retains an important role in the gate game, instead of paling in comparison to ringworlds.
May one ask what exactly this so called „Gate game“ may be?

7:25 Brief hope that Lathrix will change the galaxy type from "ring" to something else for a change. But I forgot that hope is a pathway to disappointment.

@@AnthonyR007 There is nothing wrong with any type of galaxies. It's just Lathrix plays only in "ring" galaxies, at least lately. And I think that it is more fun to change things from time to time.

Can I just say that I love the lore you build for every species you do a full playthrough on? One of these days when I can finally spend my own money I'm going to ask you for advice on how to build up lore for my species and how to stick with it.
