      @@Lathland I have a challenge for you Lathrix that will take you back to the gigastructural engeneering mod. You take the origin that starts you in an extra galactic cluster with a damaged ehof in a neighboring system. You are not allowed to leave the cluster or activate the primordial pillar until either an npc empire opens the primordial pillar OR one of the crisis has taken over the galaxy. No blorkats because they destroy everything but all the other crisis are allowed would even recommend multiple crisis so they can fight amongst each other till one is at the top. The only way you are allowed to contact the rest of the galaxy is after you build a sentry array megastructure.

      Oh, what did they change?

    • @okto_0
      @okto_0 Год назад +12

      @@HandsomeGamerGuy 2 years ago or so you started with a shattered ring with the OP districts. Your pops still had their normal planet preference, meaning you started with one of the best megastructures, could expand freely and only had to worry about rare ressources for district upkeep.
      The then nerfed the origin by adding a ringworld preference trait, meaning your pops could no longer really settle on other planets. Together with the rare ressource upkeep this made the origin essentially into a one planet challenge that was neither fun nor viable. Afterall you can't really maintain an endgame structure with early-game ressources.
      The current iteratation (atleast of the time the video was released) made the starting ringworld into its own special planet type, seperate from normal ringsworlds. Essentially they are normal planet districts but generally stronger. You can also colonise the 2 adjecent ringworld segments, though they need repairs unlocked through tech to gain habitabilty. Also you get the option to turn your ringworlds into normal ringworlds with megastructure engineering.
      Overall the origin is now way more fun, does no longer require rare ressources you dont have early game and gives you pretty much 2 planets in your starting system to settle from the get-go, perfect for a one-system challenge or generally a tall playthrough.

    Neat vid! My last play of Stellaris before I quit due to the 2.0 update was a single system run. Gameplay was different then and my rule was that I could build stations to hold territory and extract resources, but couldn't have pops outside the home system (the head canon being humans couldn't survive space warping). I ended up winning and controlling a good quarter of the galaxy, but I did have the same issue you did with having only one shipyard making it take F-O-R-E-V-E-R to rebuild losses.

    i would have thought u would go ring world instead since they produce just stupid amounts of pop growth and the research planetary designation is also really strong however wing worlds do take a while to get going so i can understand why. would love to see u take what u learnt from this playthrough and do some more of these challenges as i personally love seeing these sort of challenges

    10 min watching 50+ in happy snoozeland!
    Lath's dulcid tones are so soothing he could be reading the dictionary and I'd be happy
