My wife and son and I went to Pittsburgh in October 2021 for the Sunday night football game against the Seahawks. It was our first time to Pittsburgh and I've been a Steelers fan since 1972(I was 10years old). We went up the trolley on the hill then called an Uber to get us back to our hotel. But first we had to pickup our pizza from Fiori's on the way back. I had done my research before the trip to find a pizza place. We were not disappointed. Fiori's Pizza was probably the best pizza I've ever had. We are from Phoenix, AZ so we get all the pizza styles...New York, Chicago...etc. I will go back to Pittsburgh just for the pizza. I looked online when we got back home to see if they would deliver me a few hot ones overnight. They did have a package of their ingredients to send available. But I'm sure the water has a difference in the taste as well. Yinzers got that pizza that hit me upside the head. Love it.
The key is Provolone cheese, people! That's where the orange grease comes from...Fiori's uses a blend of Provolone and Mozzarella...they still shred both and blend it by hand.
@Nooneinparticular987 Provolone is used heavy in PGH. I've been spoiled, I'm used to Brooklyn style or going to Koronets, Don Filippos on the Upper East side or Tommy's in the Bronx. Yea it's a really interesting mix of post-industrialism and new tech, things like medical/glass are huge in Pittsburgh, but the collapse of the old industry left many areas of the city pretty poor without the resources to get out. People here also tend to be very proud of our past, so even when things can change we often keep them the same for as long as we can - then keep calling it the old name for another 20-30 years 😂 In many areas around Pittsburgh you can see the pure results of post industrialism, don't let that make you miss out on tons of great local businesses like orams (best donuts in the world). But Pittsburgh provides a really unique juxtaposition of burgeoning new wealth + areas that haven't changed since the 50-70's
We're from New York which is known for great pizza, but the BEST pizza we've ever had hands down was in South Western Pennsylvania about 60 miles south of Pittsburgh. We were just passing through old back roads and seen this little pizza place literally in the middle of no where. It was like someone turned their garage into a little kitchen lol I'm telling you right now it made our pizza here in New York taste like frozen pizza in comparison, that's how great it was. No clue what the name was, I know it was near Brownsville and Smock Pennsylvania. We'd eat there everyday if it wasn't so long of a drive. Their wings were great too, and they were some of the biggest wings I've ever seen in my life.
I went to school like 5mi from downtown Pittsburgh with a fiore & his family had a pizza shop, I remember their being like 5 or 6 fiores pizza around, I think everyone in the family got a pizza shop for their confirmation present
If you come back to Pittsburgh, I'd love to see you review Driftwood Oven - Closest I've had to New Haven so far. (To be fair, I'm from CT, so nothing is quite NH pizza, but it's the best so far.)
I live about a 5 min walk from there and have a Fiori's pie and Turners pretty often. Agree on the grease, but it's still the best pizza around. Their cheese and sauce are what makes them. Their cheese blend is so good, they sell it by the fountain drink cup- no joke.

Fiori's pizza is excellent! I eat their calzones, without meat, and they are big and excellent! I travel about 45 miles to go there.

Also the cartons hit so different. They’re superior to the plastic. The taste is ❤!
he hit the nail on the head with every pittsburgh reference
Pittsburgh is an interesting place. Crazy how things can change so much if you just travel a little while.
Best medicine and some of the best colleges on earth here still
Yea it's a really interesting mix of post-industrialism and new tech, things like medical/glass are huge in Pittsburgh, but the collapse of the old industry left many areas of the city pretty poor without the resources to get out.
People here also tend to be very proud of our past, so even when things can change we often keep them the same for as long as we can - then keep calling it the old name for another 20-30 years 😂
In many areas around Pittsburgh you can see the pure results of post industrialism, don't let that make you miss out on tons of great local businesses like orams (best donuts in the world). But Pittsburgh provides a really unique juxtaposition of burgeoning new wealth + areas that haven't changed since the 50-70's
One bite, everyone knows Frankie has been eating pizza too.
nostalgia. grew up on this, best pizza in the burgh
Diddlebugs in Charleroi?
As much as dat sounds good. Pittsburgh has the worst pizza selections we all wish we had nyc shop. Our best places are named after nyc pizza
60 miles south of Pittsburgh you're in West Virginia.
@@clarenceboddicker2693 No, just north of Morgantown, it was definitely still in Pennsylvania
@@LexyThomas134 ah gotcha. Sounds like you were on rt 51. A few good spots on that route.
Love the "Best of Times" movie reference. Underrated movie with Kurt Russell and Robin Williams
Dave would probably call me a weirdo and I would be so happy
I have not seen that Ice tea in yrs.. I used to love it. I'm from Philly, we always drank cartons of ice tea. Artic Splash!
A few ticks at the end, everybody knows the rules
I went to school like 5mi from downtown Pittsburgh with a fiore & his family had a pizza shop, I remember their being like 5 or 6 fiores pizza around, I think everyone in the family got a pizza shop for their confirmation present
Two words,...

7.8 for fioris is crazy’s Easily a 8.4. You see the way he was eatin that shit. It’s incredible and their sauce is perfect
This iced tea company just made millions of dollars from this video for absolutely free
Not really he didn't even show where to get it in Pittsburgh
Hugh Tahoob you got the name and know and product type and know it’s in Pittsburgh I’m sure it can’t be too difficult to find
If you come back to Pittsburgh, I'd love to see you review Driftwood Oven - Closest I've had to New Haven so far. (To be fair, I'm from CT, so nothing is quite NH pizza, but it's the best so far.)
From Dallas here! They do Pizza different in the northeast, and in Italy it’s different than the northeast.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
I live about a 5 min walk from there and have a Fiori's pie and Turners pretty often. Agree on the grease, but it's still the best pizza around. Their cheese and sauce are what makes them. Their cheese blend is so good, they sell it by the fountain drink cup- no joke.
See the Conte's Pizza review. They really took offense to him calling it greasy.
