Looking at how the landrcuiser went back on his last attempt and had to come with full force makes me realised that it is all about the driver's skills
If u ever find yourself having to drive in mud, the trick is to NEVER keep ur wheels straight until you've got good grip. The second u feel ur tires slipping, turn the wheel and don't EVER stop halfway through unless u want to back down OR you're in a tractor. Some drivers think it's about acceleration, weight, or tyres but in reality most tyres will do just fine in any terrain. Even small hatchbacks can go offroad if driven with enough skill. I know because rural South African roads can get VERY muddy & slippery on a rainy day and we have to get smaller, less powerful cars up the hill against the mud
Here are my takes on this video: 1- The drivers are not the same, so the test did not fix that variable and left the drivers skills as a huge factor in the success of the vehicle. 2- Each car going through the terrain makes it worse for the next driver, so the first car in had a huge advantage and the least one was at a great disadvantage due to deterioration of the terrain. 3- The last vehicle test doesn’t show that much water in the terrain and seems to have been recorded on a different day or at least not at the same time. Means the conditions are different. 4- the last car or two show some video edits and therefore video does not show the real time it took for each vehicle to pass the terrain. From all the above, I don’t trust this test at all!! 😅
absolute mediocrity drivers have gathered here, the cars are good, the gelendvagen will pass it easily, the drivers are fools. I have a fourteen-year-old daughter who drives my Gelendvagen better than these terrible drivers
Judging solely by vehicles - G Wagon undisputed first place, Land Cruiser second, but in the end it depends on tires and drivers. The rest are a joke and shouldn't even try off road.
What I think is most important in this kind of evaluation is what is the failure rate after actually using it in a harsh environment for several years? That means. If it's just a test like this, the tires you put on will change the results as much as you want
Hi there, I really enjoyed your video, I am putting together an off road compilation of the Range Rover Sport, and wondered if you would like to be included?
The G - Class driver is so incompetent. The best 4x4 truck in the world and that driver still struggled. The driver didn't even know how to use the Differential Locks. What a shame. Otherwise, good show.
Toyota have 4wd cpu with crawl control that could do this automatically by sending traction to the right tyre with most grip, surprised he didn't use it
@@truthonly7196 yes . don't know why there are always many haters on the internet talking shit about Range Rovers . I am driving one . 60k miles now . no problems at all .
The road surface is muddy and slippery. The tires used must be suitable for the road , no need to use an expensive car. If you want to be a normal 4×4 car, you can go if you use tires that are suitable for road conditions.
Driver's skills makes a lot of difference
Agreed👍
All noobshit driver
👍
Yes that's right...
I think they should use 1 driver for all vehicles 😊
3 Main Foctors:
1. Horse Power
2. Driver's skill
3. Tyre type
4. Technology help
I would list that in reverse order

Driver brain is important. Off-road tayer is batter
A single professional off road driver should be the one to drive all 4 cars through. (Experience & skill)
Let ordinary people drive so we can see
With this type of tires I dont think so
@@yanooo2007 Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Was going to write the same thing and found this. Absolutely true.
Driving skills lacking.
With Toyota the problem wasnt the car.
I think so
Maintaining momentum makes a big difference, but something that would’ve made a huge difference would be the appropriate tires for the job.
Yea i agree those look like street tires
Exactly! Proper tires would make a huge difference. Its more about weight and grip than power
Give it 2 me ill make it helicopter😅
Lol true them tires as smooth as F1's with all those mud stuck between the threads
The Maserati did better than I thought it would . Great.
Wow Range Rover without struggle just crossed
I think the tyre will make a huge difference there. I don’t think any of those cars equipped with all terrain tyre.
That’s what I thought too
Yeah, I mean the Maserati with ultra high performance tires… it’s like going to work construction wearing slippers
Agreed..
Ikr..this test is useless. It's so obvious. It's like testing ur kitchen knife by cutting a log.
They need to deflate the tyres to run on such terrain.
Panda 4x4 would greet them with a ciao ciao from the window 😊

Fiat Panda 4x4, the best 4x4 in the world 🇮🇹💪
Looks cute but always worry about the manufacturer and the reputation..."Fix It Again Tony."
The Range Rover driver was the best. All other drivers didn’t know how to handle their cars properly
facts. Im just here like????????????
That's facts
但也不能怪这些司机,他们很难遇到这种极端差的路况,这是中国,除非去无人区,否则很难找到这样泥泞的路,所以他们不知道如何应对这种路是很正常的事情。
They shouldn't allow to drive anything!
You are right. The car is puch for another site and them they're turn the wheel to another Direction
I do agree with the first comment it's about the driver's skills!
Good tires and somewhat skilled drivers makes a difference.

Land rover: Oh shoot, my mask! 0:16
The task gets increasingly difficult for the next driver because of the damage previous driver caused to the surface as it maneuvers its way out .
Ok you can’t go off-roading in street tires and expect anything but this 😂😂😂 on that hill and mud

The G-class was probably the heaviest car there and there were 2 people in it.
Nope, Toyota land cruiser was the heaviest

This is more about the person behind the wheel and less about the car make!
If these 4 options, it's not about what you drive. It's all about how you drive.
It also depends with the driver
People may fight over these vehicles on whats better but what matters a half of it is the driver and his skills!
Props to the Maserati guy, even though the Levante isn't a proper off-roader, it was capable of getting out of it.
Yep I was impressed that the first off roader made by a sportscar company goes as well as the big boys.
The competition is which vehicle's driver makes you angry the most 😂😂😂

Ah yes my favourite all terrain... the Maserati.

For real though.. People have high expectations for Land Cruisers.
The road is extremely slippery it has more to do with the tyres than the car or driver .
The fact they made it up there in heavy clay mud with z rated road tires is incredible and should be lost on no one.

This is the very idea: you have a 4 X 4 car that you use 99% in the city. What happens in 1% of the time you go off road?
Well, they are road going tyres, try the same with some AT's maybe they would fair better?
It's all down to drivers skill and the tyres, they were probably on road tyres. Stick some at3's on them and it will be all different.

It should be an off-road tire instead of an all-weather tire. And it is necessary to unify the brands of tires.
