Range Rovers off road prowess is greatly offset by their terrible reliability and very hefty price tags. The Toyota and Nissan might not show off but they are just as off-road capable coupled with their legendary reliability 👊
@@zarakdurrani7584 the lc 300 costs more than the defender so there goes that argument... and you're mistaken when it comes to reliability. For a modern car with loads of tech (unlike even the newest toyota), mechanically its pretty damn reliable. Most complain about stupid rattles and software issues with the infotainment system.

And please, tell me about reliability once your range Rover or defender can serve like these Japanese trucks can do in extremely adverse condition's without fail. @@zarakdurrani7584 I dont need to watch fake reviews with click bait titles. I own one so im talking from actual experience. Been an awsome ride for the past 12k miles. Lots of black diamond trails here in socal and not a single issue. And no im not lucky, many others have had good experiences with it, but have you seen that online? Ofcourse not... that won't get you to click the video. Test drove the land cruiser before the defender and it was shit compared to it. Stop feeding off what you see "online". I dont expect you to like it... but unless you own one or have owned one... shut your mouth about reliability.
I honestly was looking for a lot more from the land cruiser......it didn't amaze me.....the Nissan Patrol definitely performed admirably......the G Wagon was the G Wagon and the Range was the Range....perfect offroaders
It will amaze you when it's still running while towing everyone else out of the African bush.

The Patrol would be far cheaper than the rest. Probably at least as reliable as the Toyotas also. Would be my choice.

It's amazing how the Range Rover performed on the first test with those tires.
Land rover/range rover always had a very2 good 4wd system they build..however,the amount of break down unreliable car they made is the course of why a lot of people dont want to buy them

@@dolguldur4706 they really aren't unreliable as people claim they are. Yes they are expensive and repairs arent cheap. But what most people complain about are squeeks/noises and issues with the infotainment system.

Actually LWB helps in articulation.
For me personally this showed that under serious conditions with everything turned on the G played in its own league.
No weel spin, full control and all that with street tires on.
Very impressive.
This showed what three locking diffs and low range can do.

Yea but g Wagon can't do much offroad, rock crawl due to lack of ground clearance.
I have owned 3 land cruisers, pajero sr, toureg v8 and land rover lr3. All have driven over 200k miles 300k for the Toyotas. All are quite different. I prefer my lr3. G wagon is nice air suspension would bring it to a new level.

These "challenges" are stupid, the kind of dumb shit city people do when driving in the country. Just put your foot on the gas, with enough forward momentum the vehicle will barrel it's way up and over anything.

Terrain Response 2 on Range Rovers and Defenders are technology far far advanced that any other SUV. Combine that with the amazing 6 and 8 cylinder engines, you get the most dignified off road performance (not struggling / wheel spin)
All fans of off-road driving in the world know that Mitsubishi has the best system - Super Select 2
Rangerover always surprises me like last time when it didn't sweat out on any of the climb while other vehicles had to turn on every mode on just to climb and this can do easily without any modes engaged and that also on road going tyres that's also low profiles. Amazing video keep it up man... 👍
No bruh.. range Rover engages 4wheel and diff lock automatically.. I can feel that while riding...(mine is an 2019model)
It was my first time watching the defender in action. Man it's a good one. The Range Rover was good but the engine was kinda struggling...maybe am wrong
The Range Rover was showing a good performance here , hope the. Next generation also improves its offroading capabilities and it's durability

Nissan Patrol redeemed it's name tarnished by infinity, I love the cosmetics of Landcruiser V8 over the V6,though the latter is faster than the former. Nice compilation, I really like the energy and resources you put into this, thanks from Kenya.

My landcruiser 200 is a 2012 model with a v8 5.7L engine and never experienced these issues as the v8 2016 4.6L model did in your video. Great video btw!!!

Excellent video. The Merc is a beast, nothing beats 3 lockable diffs. The Land/Range Rovers have a non-manually controllable diff lock (or two in the case of this defender). It gives them an unfair advantage in "standard" mode as, unlike the other contenders, they will lock their diffs anyway as needed. For these two the off-road mode "just" changes ride height and traction control.
Rock crawl locks the rear diff no matter what. The rest of the modes vary when it will lock and how much wheelspin to allow.
They copied that from Toyota Land Cruisers 80 Series.

@@vipulchoudhary7918 Probably even without them. Only a few cars, including the G, managed the route without engaging diff locks. But 3 are always standard on all G's so its always going to be more capable.

Old land rovers does have engine break and mechanical problems
But the new one have small problems like infotainment glitches and a few bugs and thats why they give bad reviews
And most people who say that lr isn't rellibile haven't owned one

It's the 3 diff locks does the trick , definitely the LR's are way better , with a centre diff lock itself they do it so easy.

@@siyandajola585 😄 the G is undoubtedly a good SUV & it's not that I hate it. But when there's 3 locked diffs it could drive on almost any terrain pretty much easily. If this track had twists & turns the front diff can't help at all. I would always credit regardless of the brand or a model which can do the job effortlessly without less aid. See the RR in standard & the G in standard. The RR makes it so easily. That's why I said it's way better. Intact it's the traction control system of the LR's are way better because that's the strength of LR. Both the G & the RR performed equally when the off road modes were on. If LR can pull their reliability they'll be some sick cars I'll tell you my friend. Because they make some amazingly beautiful cars which could perform both on & off road incredibly. This is why every suv maker look upto LR when they design a new SUV.

Agreed, the RR, Defender and G wagon with lockers gobbled up that course, I was also impressed by the Patrol, when it had its off road systems on, that didn’t seem to struggle and had very little idle rotation or wheel spin.

Amazed at the y62 patrol,2014 model at half or quarter of the price of the others and walks up with no aids on road tyres without 4wd turned on.

LC300 GR Sport diesel model is the best 4x4 vehicle man, it has also triple diff locker as same as G wagon, besides much cheaper and more reliable than G wagon😁
