- In this video I will show you how to take the train from Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) to Oslo City Centre - the CHEAP Way!
This excellent regional rail system serves the airport with 4-6 high-capacity 200km/h trains per hour, and at half the price of the dedicated 'Flytoget' Airport Express... and it's only 4 minutes slower!

Frankly - you DON'T need the Vy app at all - you can either go for Ruter (which will also give you all routes for Oslo public network) OR you can pay in train by getting on the right coach where attendants are available.
Is there a “supplement” to pay onboard?
Iis it true that you can't pay by Visa, Mastercard cards?
@DiscoverByRail somehow missed answering this. Yes, I think there is a 40kr surcharge. Not sure if it is applicable per transaction or per zone.
What app did you use to measure the speed of the train?
Speedometer
The 1st thing the V app asks for is to choose which line you want with a choice of 5. Which one is it? Thank you
A very informative video! Thanks for explaining everything so clearly. I'll be going to Oslo next month.
Safe travels…
Not all Trains calling at OSL are of the 2+3 configuration. Some, with final Destination further away from Oslo Central Station, are with a 2+2 configuration and tilting Seatback possibility.
Oh so a bit of luxury on the cheap 😏
Excellent video! Thank you
Thank you too!
Have now done this - very simple. Ticket machine very easy to find and use. Not sure why people use Flytoget for this trip when the Vy train is just over half the price and only 4 minutes slower. Returning to Oslo airport I managed to pick a day when there was a replacement bus/coach service which was a bit disorganised.
Bad timing 😝
@@DiscoverByRail Indeed !
Thank you that was very helpful
You're welcome!
thank you - heading to Oslo for the winter holiday - appreciate the info
Have fun!
Thanks. Valuable information and well presented.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hiya. Were travelling to the main Oslo Airport to the City Centre next week for a holiday. So, from what i've heard this FlytoGet train service is the cheapest ans faster way? And if we are travelling to other cities within Norway would you know of a website or app to check for fares?
Vy.no
@@DiscoverByRail How about this Ruter app?
Can you get onboard with a midsize luggage?
No problem with luggage space 👍
@@DiscoverByRail super, thanks a lot
Does this train operates 24 hours?
No doesn’t run overnight…
Good 👍👍🇪🇹
Thanks!
Em outubro eu estarei pousando nessa linda cidade
Hope you use the train!
I'll be doing this next week! Very useful info :)
