Hi Pal, when you buy a 24 hr ticket on Ruter including the airport zone, zone 2 and the City centre zone, does it cover the vy train connecting to the airport as well? I need to travel from the airport, go to my airbnb in Lorenskog, then go to city centre via bus, and take a return train to the airport the next morning. Very informative! When I visit a city for the first time, I personally prefer to walk everywhere (if distances are bearable) so that I can see how’s the city, not just the touristy areas. But, of course, if you don’t have much time, it’s great to know the means to move around. Hey Pål. This was such an enjoyable episode to watch. So much useful information for the next time I pop down south. Tight script, well edited. Well done !!
I'm visiting Norway right now and I wish I knew this useful information before 😂 but it has been pretty entertaining figuring out how the transport system works here. I love how clean and organized the city is and how kind and friendly people are. The only thing is that you must prepare your pocket because your estimated budget possibly won't be enough to afford every expense in here. Love this! Hi, Pål and thanks for this fantastic overview of public transit in Oslo. I haven't made it to Norway yet, I'm hoping to get there in August or September 2025 and I do plan to get around on transit when I arrive. I live in Canada and I'm always happy to see what life is like in another winter city. In all of his books, Karl Ove Knausgård talks about eating brown cheese so I knew it was a Norwegian staple but I thought it sounded ... unappetizing. How wrong I was! When you explained that it was basically cheese made from caramelized milk, I knew I had to try it. Love your insights on Norway, looking forward to my first visit.
Bravo Pål. This was so well done and so much information packed into a beautify enjoying video. You nailed it with this one. 👏🏻The huge impact it has to show what you are talking about. Such a huge different in quality. Just standing in front of the buss, or standing on the boat talking, or go off at the fram museum like that. Perfect. I'm talking notes. You really impress me with these videos. Keep it up mate 👏🏻🇳🇴

You are completely right! I have to say I totally forgot about that. Well, if you have the ticket on your phone (in the app), you only show it if there is a control. A paper ticket needs to be validated onboard buses and trams, and when you enter into a metro station
Hello Pal. Really informative video, I thank you for that. I will be in Oslo this weekend. Super stoked about it! The ferry tip is really useful and I will definitely take advantage of it :) I need to ask just one thing, which of the museums in your opinion is a must-see?
Pol you have done it , once again. Your video is highly informative and makes the viewer want to visit your country pronto. You are truly providing a great service not just to us but your countrymen as well. Thanks Jorge Santis
Great video Pål. Can I ask you a very practical question please. When you buy a ticket on the Ruter app, how do you enter and exit metro stations, buses, and trams. As an example, in London you have to touch in and out on the Tube but only touch in on buses. In Stockholm you only touch in on the metro (not out) but on trams an inspector scans your card/app. I think this is really practical information for tourists. Thanks.
Hi Dean, good question! There are no barriers for going in and out of metro stations, and you board buses and trams through any door. No tapping in or out. If you got the ticket on your phone you are good. If you don’t it and there is a control then you are in trouble ;)
Great video! I have been to Oslo before but I’m attending a concert by Oslo philharmonic this Friday, good to know these options! Best regards from Edinburgh😊 PS: if you happen to read this - I have a bit time on sat morning wonder if it’s worth a trip to Vestkanttorvet? I like to visit flea antique markets in foreign cities. Thanks!
Thank you Pal for your informative videos! Your videos have helped the 3 of us with our travel plans for Oslo/Bergen/Flam which is happening in a few weeks time, very excited. Do you have any suggestions where we can securely store our larger luggage items in Oslo while we take our trip to Bergen/Flam for a few days?
Hallo Pål! Very comprehensive and well-explained video. Oslo looks beautiful and would love to visit the city when it snows. Which month gets the most snow in Oslo? Takk og ha det fint!

Well much bigger now and you probably won’t recognize anything especially down town. Just glad we still don’t have any tall rise or skyscrapers yet
I think you should put some information about how to use the ticket for the trams, busses and metro 😊 nice video btw
The Fram Museum and the National Museum, depending a bit on your interests. Enjoy Oslo!
The T in T-bane stands for tunnelbane, as a lot of it goes underground.
great video though!
Doh! I know.. my mistake.. thanks for watching :)
Great video
Pol you have done it , once again. Your video is highly informative and makes the viewer want to visit your country pronto. You are truly providing a great service not just to us but your countrymen as well. Thanks
Jorge Santis
Thanks Jorge! You nice comment is very motivating. Hope all is well with you. Time for another trip to Norway perhaps? :)
I like very much
Great video Pål.
Thanks, Pal!
Vær så god! You welcome!
Very helpful 👌
Great!
Great video! I have been to Oslo before but I’m attending a concert by Oslo philharmonic this Friday, good to know these options! Best regards from Edinburgh😊
PS: if you happen to read this - I have a bit time on sat morning wonder if it’s worth a trip to Vestkanttorvet? I like to visit flea antique markets in foreign cities. Thanks!
Thank you! I hope you'll enjoy the concert. I think the Vestkanttorvet is well worth it if you are into flea antique markets :)
Many thanks!
this is a great video! You should do one about what to do/see with 36 hours in oslo
Thanks! Yes I should, just need the time to make one. 😅
Hi you welcome! There is luggage storage at the Central Station in Oslo 👍
Thanks!
Tusen takk! ❤️
Hallo Pål! Very comprehensive and well-explained video. Oslo looks beautiful and would love to visit the city when it snows. Which month gets the most snow in Oslo? Takk og ha det fint!
Hei Hei! Thanks 🙏 I would say January and February have the highest probability for snow ❄️
Useful tips, thank you! I have a citybreak planned in May, so excited 😁 What ferry route do you recomend for a tourist? I mean what is the most spectacular one? I am little bit confused which one should I choose. I would like to have some stops and hop on back on the next one as well.
Great! I would recommend the B1 Øyene :)
Hovedøya and Gressholmen are nice islands to stroll around on.
Now, bus 81 is the only connection between Nationaltheatret and Bjørvika after 32 got shortened and changed the number to 42
Thanks for the update!
Interessant å høre at t-bane komme kanskje fra T'en som var over banen. Jeg har alltid trodd og blitt sagt at det var for tunnelbane! 😁
Jo det var nok litt av min egen teori, og mange vil si seg uenig i det ;)
